Today I surrendered my dog Fendi and picked up my 2 kittens and the mom of the kittens now our cats was really sick I brought them back within 14days to get better. So Meg the manager haggled us for a $50 fee that Bridget never said we needed. This was very difficult they was very cruel to us and treated us terribly when giving our dog Fendi back! This was a sad and emotional day for us and to have to go through this insensitivity made it worse. We did not pay the $50 we had to pay $10 forr a brown box to transport our cats home when they gave us 2 before for free before! T Needless to say they showed their colors! I have seen white people bring their dogs and cats back and they was never charged nor given a hard time instead they were comforted! I will Never do business with them again! Black people Beware!

Brandywine Valley SPCA is an amazing place to adopt a forever friend. I highly recommend it to anyone who may be on the fence. They have lots to chose from. Their fee includes everything, microchipping, spay/nueter, shots, and a vet visit. That makes the adoption free when you do the math.
The staff there are so helpful and happy to help you and their animals make it home together

Very clean. Cats are well-taken care of and obviously loved there. The staff definitely listened to us and knew the cats in their care to find a great match!

The staff and environment are kind, safe, clean, and very helpful. They really care about where the pets go, ie: into a loving home. I would definitely recommend anyone who’s never went through the adoption process. Now my kitten has settled in with my other fur baby.

The staff was so helpful and friendly. They are invested in these animals and making sure they are a good fit for you and your family. Once you have adopted an animal, they provide support should you need it which definitely helped us feel more confident going home with our new furry friend!

Adopted Mr. T from the SPCA in Plymouth Meeting. Adoption was so easy, the dog seemed so cared for and we were so excited to bring our new friend home. The next day all hell broke loose. Mr. T started gagging and coughing. Took him to the vet the very next day and have found out that he has an upper respitory infection and now round worms. We are extremely disappointed in the all the additional money we had to spend on a dog we were told was healthy. We were never provided the starter baG of science diet, the first doctors visit and follow up certificate were for not one vet near us all they were all near Philly and Delaware so we are footing the bill after spending $350 on the dog. We surely have and will continue to care for this little one because we are in love with him and he deserves the best. But I feel very decieved by this organization after driving over an hour to adopt him and now all this. NEVER again!

I visited the SPCA yesterday, and every person I talked to was very kind. I got to meet a few different cats, and found the right cat friend.

Do NOT adopt an animal from here. My boyfriend and I adopted a dog from here about 3 weeks ago. First they told us she had dermatitis, but it was gone. As we were walking out the door a front desk woman gives us pills and says she can take these “if” she gets kennel cough. I’m not sure why you would give someone medication to an animal “in case” they get something…. But as soon as we brought her home she was coughing and vomiting every few minutes. We called and they told us to bring her back to spca and not to the clinic. When i got there they took my dog and brought her back out a few moments later with different medication. I never spoke to a vet or got any follow up phone calls like they said they would. We noticed she was itchy but thought it may be general allergies but she began to cut open her face and it swelled her whole face up with infections. We called the emergency line and made an appointment for the next day. When we brought her in they again just took and came out with 6 different medications and a young man who was trying his hardest to explain the medications but had no clue how to answer our questions… and again SAW NO VET. They told it was something other then dermatitis and it was something she got from her mom, who by the way is also at the spca and has no infections on her skin. Every time i call they never know how to help and it is very obviously disorganized. Every animal in there is sick from the cats to the dogs. I appreciate the work they are trying to do but it is very obvious they bit off way more than they can chew. Their CEO makes over 350k a year, but their asking people to donate blankets? !? CEO, you should donate the blankets. I would be very cautious before you adopt an animal from here. The adoption process is fast but they give you no information on the animal or ask you anything to see if you’d actually be a suitable household for the animal. We were also told she was 4 months old, but once we received her medical records it was indicated that she was 6 months old. She was a surrender and came in with her mom, so the owner obviously knew hold old the animal was so they did not need to guess, this is probably a way for them to ensure you pay the puppy fee instead of the over 6 months fee. When we were waiting to go in for our appointment there was another woman who adopted a dog at a similar time to us and had a very similar experience with illnesses once she brought the dog home. I hope they can do better and make sure they aren’t giving people sick animals.

I originally gave 3 stars for my experience that I had with this shelter. I have adopted 3 dogs from here; two dogs two years ago and 1 puppy last year. I had multiple issues with each experience. With that being said. I updated my review a couple of days ago seeing many spelling errors from using the talk to text on my phone. Today I got a call from Mike, who talked to me for 30 mins about my experience, what happened with each adoption and what went wrong. After this call I know that these animals being taken care of and the customer service is amazing. Every issue I had previously had with the old staff is gone. I know that Mike is making sure every animal that comes in is taken care of and they are going home to the best family possible.

My boyfriend and I adopted a kitten from the SPCA last night. The process was so easy and the staff was very knowledgeable of her and her medical history. All the animals seemed happy and well taken care of. This is the second pet we’ve adopted from them in 6 months!

Great caring people who are willing and happy to share their love for animals. We had a kitten in mind when we first arrived from their website, but after some interaction we decided she didn’t want us, the next one, Harry Potter did the trick and we took him home. After one crazy night of watching him play and zoom around our room and a name change (Coal) our home is complete. He acts like he’s always been our cat, we love him and will keep him safe

The staff seemed really nice, but some seemed to be pulled too thin. So if you aren't severely allergic to dogs or cats please volunteer. The staff and the cute animals need you. If I could I would.

All black female cat was brought to me after being at Brandywine and having her ruptured eye removed. Being frightened and underweight they determined that she should be released outside the next day after eye surgery. She is not a feral cat. I consider this cruel as she would have died.
Very disappointing.

Update:
Brandywine spca notified me that it was four days until Trapper came to release cat. She immediately brought cat to me as the woman could not care for her. I am sorry that Brandywine SPCA tipped her ear & released a pet cat, her behavior was just being scared to death. This cat has required lots of care and after several weeks I knew she would need surgery again. Forgotten Cats found that she had remnants of ovarian tissue in both sides, which is not common but happens. She is recovering from this too. I am grateful that we have these great places taking in abandoned & injured animals so please foster if you can.
