Brennan's Big Chill, Bloomsburg PA

I’ve worked at the Big Chill for two seasons now, and I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve worked in restaurants before and have dealt with a lot of terrible service from both the customers and management. The Big Chill is such a friendly environment with amazing customers. I am so happy to be apparently of the Big Chill family. I truly feel as if I’m family here, and I’ve never felt like that at a job before. I think it is a great job and anyone who works here feels the same.

I’ve been an employee at big chill for 3 years now. It is one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. We are a big family here and we love and adore the owners. Definitely a place I would refer people to work at. I worked my first two years here then decided to expand my work experience and in the end I decided to come back because of the great family we built here!

My daughter is a high school student and has been working at Brennan's Big Chill since March of 2022. It has literally been the BEST first job for her- she loves it! Her co-workers are amazing and the owners and just wonderful to her and the rest of the staff. This job will take her a long way and I'm so glad we found it! So for people saying it's a bad place to work- they are very much wrong:) Love you guys!

I am currently in high-school and an employee at The Big Chill. The bosses and all the employees have always been nothing but nice to me. It has been such a great experience for my first job and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else!

I’m currently in high school and working at the Big Chill. The owners and everyone who works with me have always showed nothing but kindness towards me, and I can’t imagine being surrounded by a better group of people. We all feel like one big family working in a fun and friendly environment, and I’m so glad to be a part of it while helping our awesome customers.

Rude! Asked to have an extra cup for a 2-3 year old and was told no! I said ok I will pay for another ice cream and just give me the cup. The owner was asked if that would be ok and she said no! Inventory reasons. People take their children for ice cream as a treat. We do not expect to the owner of the business to make it a totally weird uncomfortable visit. Yuck!

I would say I come pretty often, at least once or twice a month. The ice cream is okay and the shop is spotless, however, during each visit The owner is almost always annoyed with her employees or customers.

Advice to the owner: if you don’t like young people, an ice cream shop isn’t the best business for you to be in. You are always annoyed by your high school employees and the children that come in.

I won’t be returning because of her miserable attitude.

While visiting Bloomsburg for the first time, we asked a local resident where the best ice cream in town was and Brennans Big Chill came highly recommended! Without a doubt it truly was the best ice cream, You can tell a lot of thought and love goes into making their ice cream. Thank you!

LOVE! Free pup cups! The Bedazzled is weird but delicious. The waffle cones are crisp! The staff were attentive and very sweet.

My daughter and I got ice cream here and decided to sit on the benches out side. The owner came out twice with a rude tone and told me daughter she couldn't do a little painting she was doing. She was so rude and disrespectful! My 11 year old was embarrassed and about cried!

Always hit’s the spot on a warm day. Great selection of ice cream, sundaes, milk shakes, etc. Go for the banana split and don’t share.

We visited today, for the first time. The ice cream, that they make themselves, is delicious and there are so many great flavors to choose from. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The whole place is super clean and decorated very nicely. It's a nice little place to sit and relax, while you enjoy your ice cream. We will definitely be stopping by again!

Worst customer service ever. That woman is so flipping rude. Treat your employees and your customers better. You should be happy in these times you actually still have a business and people who want to work. If you talk to your employees like that in front of your customers I can't even imagine how you are when the doors close. I hope they all leave you high and dry. Be a better person!

Probably good ice cream. Will never find out. Tried to order two different flavors in a cone. Asked if I could make it a small. Just wanted a small treat and not a ton of ice cream but was excited to try their flavors. A young men told me yes and then a very annoyed looking older woman interrupted and barked that I could not, I would have to order a double. Even the young man who initially told me yes looked confused. So I said no problem. I informed them I did not want a lot of ice cream, asked if they could charge me for a double, but make the scoops much smaller. I only wanted a small amount of ice cream, did not want to produce any unnecessary waste and did not want to have to make my way through a large scoop to get to the other flavor. The woman sharply told me that was not possible. Which, I mean, it's absolutely possible but she was clearly being difficult by not agreeing to give me less for the same amount of money. Then she proceeded to stare and smirk at me as if she was the age of the employees she managed. As an adult and business owner, I found this behavior baffling. I know my $5 won't make or break her business and she knows that which is why she behaves the way she does. Turns out she has quite the reputation for conducting herself like a childish bafoon. Will never return.

This is the best ice cream shop around, no doubt about it. They make there own ice cream and almost always have some concoction that you have never heard of. My dad is on a mission to have a flavor he doesn't like, he has failed so far.

I would recommend Brennan's to anyone.

Great selection of ice cream flavors and away to have them. I understand why they were recommended as a locals favorite. We enjoyed our ice cream in Bloomsburg.

This is the best ice cream I've ever had. I moved away from Bloomsburg after college and still regularly make the pilgrimage back to the holy mecca that is Big Chill. They have set the bar wayyyyy too high for ice cream. Every other is inferior.

Highly recommend. Delicious and best ice cream around.

We come here maybe once a week and have never had a bad experience. My only complaint is that we wish they had a loyalty card!
