The Brickhouse Inn was in a great central location within walking distance to many cute shops and restaurants. Kathy and Melanie were great hosts! They greeted us every morning with a smile and a hearty breakfast. The bed was comfortable and I loved the historic and comforting atmosphere! We also appreciated the hot-tub after long days of tours!

Everything and everyone were wonderful. We had a great stay. Fantastic breakfast and good company.

We had a wonderful getaway at the Brickhouse Inn. Everyone was incredibly kind and the surrounding area was beautiful. Can’t wait to come back next year.

You simply cannot beat the location of this inn. We have stayed here at least a dozen times previously. This was our first visit under new ownership. We noticed there are many changes underway in the garden area, including adding a hot tub and removing the koi pond. We hope the beauty and serenity of this space is restored once the changes are completed. The rooms are unchanged (lovely!) and the common areas are still warm and inviting. The Christmas tree was beautiful as always. We attended breakfast all 3 mornings and interacted with staff members who could not have been more welcoming. Everyone was pleasant and friendly and went above and beyond, such as offering fresh towels without us requesting them. While we did miss our interactions with the previous owners (Brian and Tess) but we found that breakfast offers ample opportunity for staff interaction. That said, we read that breakfast will become an optional additional purchase in 2023. The breakfasts are just as delicious as they always were. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are fully satisfied with the service and amenities. Thanks to all the staff members we encountered (especially Melanie)!

We had a delightful stay last weekend. Brickhouse Inn B&B exceeded our expectations. The house was lovely and the bed was comfortable. The food was wonderful as well. We will definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing time staying in the Illinois room. A bit spooky, our door opened by itself at one time even though it was latched. The staff was very pleasant and offered us a three course breakfast that was better than any place you could eat in Gettysburg!

Read my review on Trip Advisor. Do not pay any attention to reviews older than 6 months. Brian and Tessa do not own this B& B anymore and after my stay this week, what was once a 5 star is now a 1 star.

Very nice place! Clean, quaint, convenient location to restuarant dining, gift shops and also a friendly, amazing staff. Our two night, three day stay was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! Our room with its own bath was very cozy, clean & quaint. Wonderful experience and hope to go back again next year!

I enjoyed my stay at the Brickhouse! My room was the perfect size and so cozy. Sam was super helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. I loved rocking on the rocking chairs enjoying champagne and just relaxing. The breakfast was SO YUMMY! I will definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Loved our stay at the Brickhouse inn. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were very nice and clean. It was a relaxing/ peaceful stay. Loved the location. We also did their ghost tour which was fun and the tour guide was awesome!
Only down fall was on their website it says they have a hot tub open 24/7 but when we arrived the hot tub had no water in it.

This property is clearly not managed by inn keepers or hosts. The property looks tired and unkept. The “beautiful gardens” are nonexistent in the yard; there are several dirt holes and potted plants that were left to die. The other plants are overgrown and no one bothers to do the small things like take the leaves… in weeks. No one manages the parking on site or checks if guests are occupying the spots therefore, you don’t want to move your car because the lot may be full when you return.

The “new” check in system was horrendous. We didn’t receive our code until Saturday afternoon yet, our check in was on Friday at 1500. We were forced to call and text the numbers listed on the door. When no one answered, we rang the bell and were eventually let in. We arrived at our unlocked room and found our room key hanging up. Our room was excessively warm and it was clear that our arrival was not expected.

To our surprise, ghost tours met on the porch of the property every night. The tour customers were allowed inside the property to use the restroom and claimed the entryway until the guides were ready. This is something we’ve never seen before and hope we never see again.

I would address house keeping but.there was none. We were left with a few cheap towels in the bathroom, some of which were dirty and that was it. Per the handbook, we should “message someone” if we needed something. So much for service.

Our mattress was as hard as a rock and the pillows had seen better days. Sleeping wasn’t much of an option as we listened to trucks race up and down the roadway all night; we had to keep the windows open to maintain a suitable temperature and that didn’t help with the noise.

We woke up to the smell of what may have been breakfast every morning… and that smell emanated throughout the inn for hours after. Perhaps a ventilation system would be nice for the guests.

Overall, this property was uninviting and low quality. We would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone we know. Hopefully a new owner will take over and give the property the TLC it desperately needs.

This was my first stay in a BnB. The Inn was clean and in a great location. There was a glass of Champagne in the evenings along with banana bread and cookies. Breakfast was right on time and delicious. Coffee and water was always available. The staff are all friendly, helpful and professional. We were part of a group of 8 and were there Nov 11-13. Thank you to Sam, Paige, Johanna, Joelle, Melody and Kathy. I hope I didn't leave anyone out. You are all awesome.

We been here before and rated a five star but this time had to drop it to a three star. If you stay two or more nights don't expect your room to be freshened up or at least the waste basket empty out. Staying in the Alabama room the shower door and frame had mold obviously not being scrubbed.
The old outside charm is gone and no personal interaction with the new owners.
Everything is done by email and technology from door opening and TV.

Conveniently located to the National Cemetery, restaurants and historic attractions. California House is private. Staff were friendly.
