The location was easy to find and had great communication with the staff about check in etc. The staff were very friendly and the food was fresh and delectable. I wanted so bad to give this a 5 star because I really think the rest of the house the rooms were great. I booked the Penthouse because I knew it was going to be extremely cold and wanted to have the space to not feel closed in. The view was perfect with all the glass doors it made you feel so open and if it was warmer outside I bet this place is even more amazing. However, because we were inside most the day not having furniture to sit in was really sad. I mean the name of the room (and price) was Penthouse and the couches were honestly something you would expect to find in an hourly rate motel. You couldn't even sit on them because they were broken and the cushions tipped down. It really is sad because the rest of the room had beautiful wood accents. Just throw the couches out and move the table over because I almost couldn't believe it when I first walked in and saw the couches. Again the couches wouldn't have been such a big deal if it was warmer because you have the balcony etc. I did love the hidden vanity area behind the bed and the small room that you could put all your things in where there coffee and refrigerator were. I would recommend the location just not the room we stayed in.

This was my first time staying at the Bridgeton house, and my first experience at a B&B and it will definitely not be my last! The view from our room alone would have made the trip but the house is beautiful and all the little details made it feel very welcoming and relaxing. The complimentary tea and snacks were super yummy and a fun touch. The room amenities were great and the bed was very comfy. Waking up to a delicious breakfast delivered right to the door was awesome and the food was sooo good! Definitely can’t wait to come back!

Wow! Just a perfect place! We stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon and we just didn’t want to leave!
The location is just magical, right on the river, with an amazing view from the balcony if the room. The breakfast was just great and the room itself was just perfect and had everything we needed.
There is parking and places to sit inside and outside of the inn. There is also tea and cookies in the afternoon which were just perfect. We will come back!

I have been raving about this place since the first night there. It was such a lovely stay and so peaceful. The breakfast and tea time were by far one of my fav things about the stay (aside from the super comfy bed.)
The TV is cable and DVD so I would recommend bringing your own movies to watch (the DVDs they have there to borrow are all action themed pretty much, or as my husband called them "guy films. ") And because the building is older, you can hear the upstairs movement a bit and the water being used. Which I really did not mind.
Honestly I was begging my husband to bring me back in a few months. We will definitely be back!

Loved our time here. The view, the service, the ambiance. You want romantic spot? Can't beat this.

Edit: came back a year later. This time we rented the boat house and stayed with our doggie. This place is AMAZING! We’ve been to many places in the year’s time but this is by far our favorite.

My husband and I came to The Bridgeton House and stayed in the River Suite for our four year anniversary. Everything was perfect! The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere was peaceful. We even received a beautiful set of soaps as an anniversary gift. We'd definitely come back!

Very overpriced extremely expensive for one night I stayed in New York City on New Year’s for cheaper there’s nothing special around this area you get a view of a river big deal for $600 at night cheapest room 300 plus taxes which will bring it up to 450 not worth it lower your prices it’s too much And breakfast in the morning is very small probably cost about $10

We are fortunate enough to travel quite a bit! This was by far one of our favorites and will be back. If you are looking for a place to really get away from it all, this is it. Its quiet, secluded, and they have thought of everything. There is a very small town across the bridge (Decedents is highly recommended to eat at). It was clean, major attention to detail, and the breakfast was yummy! I loved how things like fresh bottled water, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, butlers pantry, a selection of games, and great outdoor seating were all thought of! We literally stayed in the amazing bathrobes all day! We will be back in the fall when we can enjoy the fireplace in the room

Some rooms are seriously better than others. Short staffed but those who are here are very nice and helpful. Prices increase according to room you in. But all in all we love the place.

Excellent stay. We stayed in Room 4 for a quick 2 night getaway. Perfect room and just loved the river view. Breakfast was delicious. Short stroll into town. Dining and shopping.

We stayed in the Treehouse suite at the Bridgeton House and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The room was immaculate, the breakfast was amazing, we really enjoyed having breakfast in our room too. The view from our balcony was beautiful, we really had the most beautiful weekend. The staff were friendly and really go above and beyond also. We will definitely be returning.

Our stay was wonderful, even in the midst of the pandemic we felt the care from everyone there.

Whoever worked while we stayed passed notes to us through our breakfast basket, it was the sweetest thing ever, and made it feel much more personal.

The suite was fantastic (treetop). We loved the view. We ended up doing a "paint and sip" activity with the balcony doors open.

Now everytime I look at it, I remember the breeze and view from the balcony.

Bridgeton is just a 45 min drive from our home, but it was a beautiful spot to honeymoon amid the chaos and we thank you all for that.

The next time we find a babysitter, we'll be back?

P.s. The bath and shower in the treetop suite are gorgeous. I'd stay just to shower there again

We had a lovely time at this elegant and gracious inn. The staff could not have been more helpful and considerate. The meals were excellent. The Butler's Pantry was well-stocked with treats, and it was available to us 24/7. Even the bathrobe was great - so comfortable that I ordered one for myself. We stayed in the River Suite, which had a great view of the bridge and the Delaware River. It also had a fireplace and a little patio. We're definitely going back again in the spring.

We stayed in the penthouse room for 3 days as a quick Birthday getaway for the wife. The room was exactly as described on their website. They supplied us with 2 Dura-Logs to burn in the fireplace, one for each night. The view was incredible even during the winter, it was nice relaxing in the nice comfy robes they supplied while eating the delicious breakfast and sipping on coffee while watching the huge ice chunks go down the Delaware. The afternoon tea and snacks were done well, everything was fresh and tasty. Everyone we interacted with was very accommodating and polite. My only minor complaint would be the featherbed in the room, there was nothing wrong with it, I’m just not a big fan of that type of mattress. It didn’t subtract from the overall experience and were aware that was in the room when we booked. All said we will definitely come back at some point the future, maybe in the summer next time.

Bridgeton House on the Delaware is a lovely place with lovely staff. It is in a great location. Looking out of your room you see the wide Delaware River slowly moving by. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is fantastic. We chose the fritata which is wonderful and the very good homemade yogurt with fruit. So why not five stars. I am a demanding consumer. The first floor room #1 where we stayed has two doors. One opens to a porch at ground level. It does not close properly and cannot be locked. Anyone could walk into your room unopposed. There is no privacy nor security; hence the four stars.

Uncomfortable bed. Tacky design. This place was not a good value. No privacy, we could hear everyone flushing toilets all night. The owner Diane is really full of themselves and their professionalism and communication style leaves MUCH to be desired.

You can't explain this beautiful place, you have to experience it! It's the perfect place for couples from their comfortable beds, gorgeous rooms, fabulous breakfasts, and wonderful staff. We come every year from Long Island during Veterans Day. It's a quick trip and you truly get what you pay for. We are already booked for next year! Absolutely love the Bridgeton House!

I can't speak for the other rooms but the River suite was very disappointing considering the price. The bed was old and very uncomfortable and it really hurt my back (could feel the springs). We left at 6/7 am because of this as both my partner and I kept tossing and turning the whole night. I filled out their survey so hopefully they will update the bed for future customers. Unfortunately missed the breakfast due to this as well. The views are so beautiful though, we watched the sunrise and it was gorgeous.
As for the response from the owner…I’m honestly appalled. Why would I write this review…if I wasn’t telling the truth…and yes the springs were ever present. But I suppose I am lying…for fun…because I have nothing else better to do. Why else would we leave so early in the morning from exhaustion? You are very unprofessional and inappropriate and I’m embarrassed for you that you obviously can’t take constructive feedback. I will surely not give your establishment another chance. Wow. And no my partner did not leave a nice review, we made the best of our visit prior to the horrible sleep on the bed that absolutely did not have any of what you detailed. Your maintenance person did not sleep on the bed — I did. I do think your other rooms look much nicer than the River suite but I will not back down on my review of this one. I could not find any reviews of the River suite on here, save for one review from 3 years ago so I find it hard to believe it is a “highly requested room. ”
I’ve attached two very recent Yelp reviews, your responses show a pattern of dismissing any warranted complaints, how interesting.
