Britton Coffee Co - Downtown reviews
18 A charming little spot hidden away down the stairs, the Britton Coffee Co is artistic, yet industrial. Despite being underground, it still maintains a sense of openness. It has enough seats and room to accommodate even during busy times, and the concrete and pipes give it a modern, downtown city feel.
It's a noisy cafe, bustling, with music playing. Which is good if you're seeking a chatty, exciting atmosphere to sit and talk. Not so much if you're seeking a quiet place to read, but nonetheless, even as a reader, I don't fault it for that of course. Just one of my notes on the experience.
I haven't tried any of their food, but the coffee is good, with many flavored syrups available for whatever suits your need.
It has one gender neutral bathroom available, along with many outlets for charging any devices you bring. Which, both considerably, are a must have for any cafe.
Unfortunately though, due to the stairs, the accessibility leaves something to be desired. There seems to be another way in through the underground parking, but as I came in through the stairs from the street, I'm not entirely sure how one would access that way in. It's not really something that can be changed easily with these old city buildings though.
All in all, it's a very nice space. I would mostly call the aesthetic a sort of minimalistic industrial city feel, as I mentioned before. Very fun.
Great place to grab a breakfast sandwich or wrap and of course coffee, and chit chat with friends. The atmosphere is very peaceful
I adore. We had coffees and scones everything was perfect. Under the stairs there is a mini reproduction of a coffee shop for children. Very good place
Ikigai Coffee is the Best coffee shop around! Though I love all the flavored drinks I’ve had (gingerbread is particularly yum!), I still enjoy a simple latte! (The coffee is that good that you don’t need a lot of additions).
The baked goods are made in house, and are wonderful. (The bacon quiche is fantastic, and the lemon lavender muffins and granola bars are my favorites).
The owners and staff are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet, always going out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. And the shop itself has such a special vibe! (It’s worth the few steps down!).
Whenever I want to feel special and treat myself, this is my go-to place! Can’t wait to visit again!
I do appreciate the vegan friendly coffee syrups and the vegan mochi, and bubble teas! I also love the animal themed art, t-shirts, and coffee mugs! And the AVO carving necklaces made with the nut of an avocado. Thank you for accommodating a plant-based diet and an animal friendly environment!
Thai place is so cute and the staff is very friendly! All around good vibes and great food and drinks!
Please don't leave us! No one in town makes coffee the way you do! So creative and unique!
Where is the 10 stars option.
This was simply incredible!
Loved the smell.and the service
Order some milk tea. The kids wanted to try a new drink. Staff was very friendly. Cute little place in the basement. Have to park on street.
There’s a reason ikigai has 5 stars across the board. They are simply amazing in all aspects. From the yummy baked goods, delicious coffee, and the friendly staff, nothing compares! It’s my favorite place to be!
Came in early this morning with my colleague. This coffee shop is just amazing.
We had latte and it was outstanding!
And the muffin was just delicious.
What a gem of a place. 5 starts!
We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did. I have to say we were not very impressed. While the service was fast, there was zero friendliness by the staff at all. The coffee was good, but when we sat down to eat our breakfast sandwiches, one of the staff decided it was time to start mopping the floor with a strong disinfectant all the while banging into chairs feet from where we were sitting. This was 45 minutes before they were closing. Seemed much more interested in getting us out the door than wanting us to enjoy our purchased items. We won’t be back.
The place is small but it is perfect to enjoy some great drinks. It is a 100% recommended vintage concept, the late is delicious
Awesome little coffee shop in Hanover PA. Finally found a place to get my wife bubble tea!
My husband and I found this coffee shop while staying in Hanover for a few days in back in May. The pastries and coffee were some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was top notch. You can tell they truly care about their customers. The two ladies that helped us were so kind! We were from out of town and they took the time to chat like we were regulars! We will definitely be back next time we are in the Hanover area!
If you’re a coffee person, this is the place to come in Hanover. The owners take pride in perfect coffee, and it shows. As someone who doesn’t like flavored drinks, their espressos, macchiatos, and cappuccinos truly shine. When in the mood for a flavored drink, the house-made syrups interest with unique flavors like rosemary and beet. Even the teas like herbal chai or rooibos are great hot or iced. Can’t say I’ve ever had a drink here - coffee or not - that didn’t impress. Oh, and their sandwiches and snacks are fantastic. You won’t be the same after trying their granola bars. (Also love that they’ve introduced me to South African goodies like malva pudding.) The vibes are always chill, which make it a great way to start my day or take a breather. The staff rock. (Ashley is my personal favorite.) Can’t show enough love for Ikigai. Definitely worth a visit!
I try to go to this coffee shop at least every Saturday morning to support this business because everyone is always SO nice and the coffee is 1000X better than Starbucks I get flavor in my coffee but ask for half of the sweetness and you can still taste the coffee flavor! The stuff they use doesn’t taste artificial like most places flavored coffee does.
Ikigai is such a cute place, I got the pistachio latte which is unusual for me but omg it is amazing! The best latte I’ve ever had. I got a breakfast wrap and that was also good
