Brookside Pups & Stuff reviews
15DO NOT BUY YOUR DOGS from a mill! They abuse and Treat the dogs like trash. Do some research please! They treat the animals like they have no feelings. Feel no pain. Like they are just a dollar sign. I have fostered so many dogs these animals leave stranded! Check facebook for reputable breeders or rescues. So many animals need a loving home. Until we stop buying from these monsters they will continue to do this
I never felt pressured to buy anything from them and that's something I really appreciate. I got my puppy Ophelia a week ago and its going great, she's very healthy. My only complaint is that for the price of the puppy maybe they should do light potty training, at least on puppy pads, and I think outside time would do the puppies some good, for potty training experience and exercise, while I do understand its part of the process to train your own puppy, I just think for the price maybe a tad bit of training would be appreciated. Other than that its great!
Dog were in filthy crates prices 1800 to 2500.dogs do not look healthy. NO windows. No outside accesss every dog is penned with a little but of bedding that looks like its for a hampster.
The fact that uour workser look like they live in your facitlity makes it even worse to me.
This is despicable way of caring and managing animals.the property on the outside is run down fence is falling apart.
Why is this acceptable to you the owner
The staff at brookside pups are super helpful! I told them what I wanted and they listened. Never once did they try to sell me something I did not want. Once I found my little Sophie they took the time to go over everything, as far as caring for my 14 week old puppy. They truly do love their pups and take such good care of them. I would definitely buy another puppy from brookside. They’re awesome! I believe they’re prices are reasonable. The puppy I brought home was a golden Pomeranian (teacup size). There is no way I would have been able to find a pure breed, small size, for this price. Thank you Brookside for being so helpful! You guys are truly awesome!
THIS IS NOT A REVIEW (yet) but I do in fact have a question since I did leave my number and whatnot with interest for a Mini Dachshund pup earlier today. Based on reviews from the past I can already see pricing and perhaps some of the dogs health is out of line and not checked by a professional. I would like to know why people are paying so much regardless of the dog being purebred or not? I'm aware I should of checked the reviews first, yes but If someone were to pay that much and not even have a guarantee the dog is healthy I don't see the point. More or less pay that much for puppies with unknown breeders. I would love to see for myself, whether it's even okay to sell puppies that for that much.:) I would also never buy a dog from a store without its medical papers! I know this only because a family member has bought a dog this way and it was truly a blessing.
I purchased my puppy from Brookside in Bloomsburg back in 2013. He has been the best and healthiest dog I have owned. The staff was great I have taken my dog back a few times to visit. I am looking to possibly get my dog a new puppy friend for our house.
We purchased a puppy from Brookside Pups on 1/17/2021. The reviews we read of the place online looked promising so we did not think we would have any issues. The girl working at the store was really nice and pretty knowledgeable as well.
That night our puppy, Jax, had diarrhea. We figured it was just nerves being in a new home. The diarrhea continued throughout the week and Wednesday morning at around 3am he started to vomit. We closely monitored him throughout the day and he continued to vomit as well as suffer from diarrhea. The only food Jax ate Wednesday was a few pieces of food out of our hands.
Thursday, Jax's vomit formed a yellowish color so we called the vet ASAP and they got us in. Jax was diagnosed with the deadly virus called Parvovirus (“Parvo”) and hospitalized. It was a really upsetting time for us, and on top of it the bills started to pile up and his stay kept getting extended. He spent more time in the hospital than he had with his family his first week home. The responsibility to save his life fell on our shoulders because of others negligence. The veterinarian had immediately sent a veterinary certificate to Brookside deeming that the dog had an illness that “renders it unfit for purchase”.
This situation is so unfair for our poor Jax. We did everything we could to make sure Jax had a chance at life. After just a few short days he has become the center of our little family and we couldn’t wait for him to pull through this deadly disease. Unfortunately, on 1/26/2021, after 6 days in the hospital, Jax passed away.
His paperwork stated that his breeder was Amos Yoder from Lancaster, MO. After speaking with the owner of Brookside, Shawn O’Kane, she does not know his license number after stating that she MUST deal with only USDA licensed breeders. She has lied on multiple accounts of speaking with us and after researching, Jax was not the first dog to have died from Brookside Pups. We are not only out $5,000 in medical bills, but also a piece of our family is gone.
Nothing will ever be able to replace Jax, but we have made it our mission to make sure that no other family goes through the amount of suffering we have. We want our story to be heard and spread awareness so this does not happen yet again to another one of Brookside’s customers. They have been and continue to sell sick puppies and should be investigated/shut down for this ongoing negligence. They should be accountable for the $5,000 in medical bills to try and save his life.
Wouldn't give any stars if there was an option. Every time I've been in there the puppies are in poor condition, they are covered in their own feces, they don't clean the boxes out. I get the excuse each time "oh I was just about to clean them" yeah, ok. Every pet store the dogs come from puppy mills, this one is no exception. Please adopt, don't shop.
Go here if you want to get a puppy and take out a personal loan to cover the costs. $2500 for a puppy. Price gouging disgrace
Was a great buying exper6thanks to Amy who was very helpful over the phone. I wish they had more pet supplies in the shop. I would think that it would be an easy sale to be loaded up on supplies so that when someone buys a pup they could easily spend 500 bucks on supplies in the same place. We left there and went to petsmart where we spent 820 bucks. Wouldn't mind given that to the place where we actually bought the pup. All that aside, they do a great job.
We got our long haired dachshund puppy here over a month ago and we were pleased with how friendly the staff member was. We drove about 2 hours to pick up, but almost drove right past the place. The outside could use a bit of fixing up but the inside was much better! Puppy did have a respiratory infection In the first week we had her, but they covered the bill for us! Other than that the puppy was healthy! She has such a great temperament and I am so glad we got her!
I got a my pup almost a month ago from here and he is wonderful they staff was great I so happy I got foxy from there and he was not sick he was healthy and happy to be home with us? Thank you so much
This is the best place to get a puppy! They truly care about the puppies! We had an emergency situation with our puppy at 3: 00am and we called, they showed such care and concern. They were so helpful during a scarey time for us! We drove 4 hours to pick up our puppy and I would definitely drive again to get another puppy in the future!
We just bought our cavapoo, Blaze, 2 weeks ago. The staff was so friendly and helpful! We couldn’t be happier with our new little guy! He is happy, loving, and the best little pup you could ask for! We took him for his first vet appointment and he checked out healthy and growing strong. You can tell that they really care about their puppies and want the best for them. We couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much for matching us with our new family member!
Puppy mill dogs! No responsible breeder would ever sell their puppies to a pet store. Do your research, please! Adopt from a rescue or shelter, don't give your money to puppy mills!
