Buckaloons Recreation Area reviews
11It was s good campground last year I stayed for s few weeks. The showers were warm, had a handicapped shower, and parking.campground sights were uite wished for some musical entertainment. I might try to perform at local campgrounds this year
Great place to stay, sad that they closed park last Sunday 10/24/2022 now we can't go back until may.
We will definitely be back next year.
We are still camping, we have a class A motor home, we wish your park was open later in the year we need nothing just a place to park.
Very nice campground. Most sites have some privacy. We always use the primitive sites. For us Buckaloons is a base camp for other hiking and canoe trips.
Nice campground, some sites have electricity available. Clean restrooms with showers. Dog friendly.
Bring a kayak or canoe, the water is perfect for that there, also get some firewood before arriving, they seem to run out of it quickly. No store on the grounds, so get your essentials prior to arriving as well. Besides that very nice area, most of the sites are shaded. Picture shown is the boat launch.
Very nice clean restrooms, quiet camping area, lots of sites but need to book early they go fast especially on holiday weeks.
Still one of my favorite spots to stay. The host seems nice again this year. Have had issues with past hosts.
Have camped here before and we always go back. Not much for kids to do except ride bikes, but for us retirees, it us perfect.
Nice campground on the Allegany River. This is a good river to canoe, kayak or tube on. We walked the campground and noticed that most campsites seemed to be a fairly decent size. There is a really nice walking path that encircles the campground and follows the river which was pretty neat to do.
Clean amenities. Great river access and sites are spread apart. Careful along woods edge as there is quite a bit of poison ivy.
Edit: reservations now strongly recommended although many of the reserved site went unfilled while we were There.
