Tacos are excellent, but the hot sauces, bullseye sauce, and cholula make them next level amazing Also, these tacos are a great size for the price. Very big, filling, and delicious!

This is the best place in Pittsburgh to get Tacos. The prices are incredible. Everyone working there has a great attitude. Their specials are also fantastic!

Little taco place with standing tables perfect for a quick bite. Reasonably priced for good portions. Food never takes more then 10 minutes.

Had the pleasure of eating here while visiting Pittsburgh on 10/24/23 around 1-2p. I only mention the date/time in case the owner/manager reads this as I commend and compliment the customer service, in particular, whomever was working there that day. The young man working there was observant, conversational and very pleasant. The food was equally as excellent and came in generous portions. I ordered two tacos (each one probably 1.5/2x size of most other tacos) and a small nacho which would have been more than enough by itself. Excellent place

I will say the tacos are honkin' big, but this is where the good ends. They could have had more seasoning but. I have to get this of my chest.

I will never forget the day, August 26th, 2023, when I had the absolute WORST. WOORST salsa I have ever had in my life. No I mean that. I've lived in all corners of the country (Tucson, AZ. Portland, OR. Miami, FL, and now here) and that, was not salsa. I don't know what I was served. It has the consistency or a watermelon slushy, the flavor of water and tomato paste, not a speck of seasoning. No lime? No salt? No nothing. Not an onion to be seen. Not even an aftertaste of anything. That was not salsa.don't even try that!

I know the salsa was not the main part of the meal, but whoa, that blew my mind. I knew something was off when I opened up the to-go tub and the gelatinous salsa had formed to the shape of the lid and jiggled like Jell-o.

Please please please watch a youtube video or SOMETHING and up that salsa game!

Great place to grab a taco! Menu isn’t fancy but if you’re by yourself and just want to grab tacos at a low cost, this is your place. Jalapeños on the spicy beef taco really complete the dish so I recommend adding those to the other tacos if you like the heat. I wish they still had the hot sauce at the tables, but last time I went they had a new staff member and I was very pleased. (Before, it was a bit more of a high school hangout spot. It had less social pressure but I think the quality was less consistent with 16 year old employees with no one supervising them.) I hope they’re getting good business and are able to stick around for a long time.

It's an okay place for tacos — not too bad in the sense of pricing. But just a difficult time regarding dining, since there's no place to actually sit and eat.

This was our first experience and the food was okay.
We ordered the chicken taco, pork taco, beef taco, spicy beef taco, chips and queso, and a taco salad (with chicken).
The salad was extremely lacking and was basically all lettuce. The chicken that was in there was not seasoned and dry. Also some of it was shredded into mush while there were also huge pieces of overcooked chicken. The entire container was shredded lettuce with a tiny bit of toppings.
The tacos were good, the chips and queso were average.
The regular beef taco was pretty much a bigger version of Taco Bell. (Not that much bigger for the cost difference)
The spicy beef is the same as the regular with jalapeños.
The pork taco was good.
The chicken taco was ok. Again the chicken was not seasoned and dry.
The decorations were really cool in the restaurant.

The food is good, but we don’t go here anymore since new management raised the prices. An extra dollar per taco really adds up and it’s unfortunate because taco ingredients are not expensive. Seems like a greedy move — definitely a bummer.

Edit: They raised their prices again. That’s TWICE in a short period of time since getting new management. There’s also less food now. New management is greedy and lost a lot of regulars this way.

Go ahead and order three tacos. Eat two there and one when you get home. 3 small tables with no seating.

Edit: I sadly have to take away my five stars, as I'm not into the new management. Since new people took over, the portions are smaller, and the price is much higher. It's no longer a value and it comes off greedy when you consider the cost of ingredients. We sadly don't come here anymore, and it's a major bummer because we used to go a couple of times a week.

The food is good but they many hippy workers that are rude. When a lady comes up they say ma'am but when it is a man they just say here's your food "man". Never Will go back

I never had issues with the past owners or customer service. The food was good and the portions were a great value for the price.
I would stop in at least once a week for lunch.

The value just hasn't been the same since the new owners took over.
The prices went up and the portions have gotten much smaller.
As a result I've been eating here less often.

Today's visit was just disappointing and a much needed wake up call.
I paid $11 for large pork nachos that had barely any meat and $5 for a container of beans wasn't even half full.

The prices don't justify what is being offered and this neighborhood has a ton of other restaurants that are offering a much better value.
This will be my last visit to Bull River.
