Buona Pizza, Scranton PA

Great pizza. Been going here all my life (35 years) and i will be going there the rest of them no doubt. I have only ever gotten pizza and mozzarella sticks from here so i cannot recommend many items unfortunately. However, the pizza and mozzarella sticks are always delicious. I drive 20 minutes, to get to this place, rather then go the 7 minutes to several places closer to me.

I was in the mood for more pizza, so I came to this pizzeria because it had good reviews. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and went to the counter and ordered a slice with extra cheese. It came to about $4. When I dug in, the pizza was ok. All in all, I had an ok experience!

The Scranton pa experience. This place is a timeless relic. Greasy, big slices of heaven. Great for an, " on the run " lunch. Try it.

While driving the area sampling many different pizzerias looking to find the best around, I walk into Buona Pizza and the atmosphere is rather dark with a few arcade games up near the entrance. Tables along the aisle as you walk up to the counter. I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni ($7), which were very crispy and greasy. A little too much of both for my taste.

I've ALWAYS loved the pizza here.it's absolutely fabulous, and we used to go there really very quite often, even though prices somewhat steep, at a whole $3 for only one single slice no soda or anything else.so 2 slices, yea $6bucks.if ur looking for lunch for two, at $12 FOR 4 slices u might as well just grab a whole huge pie and pay the anywhere from $14 to $16, and that's still no inclusion of a soda or a side to b honest, although the pizza is delicious, we really stopped going here all together because w/the coupon, we can get 2 whole pizzas, a 2liter of any coke product, 8 breadsticks and 8 cinnasticks at Domino's for only $19.99, plus tax and delivery, but that's EVERY where now. And honestly, as good as the food is here, the staffs terrible additudes and stuck up personalities, just aren't worth the cost of the food. I'd rather get more food for my money&have nicer staff. For a slightly less quality at Domino's then to get a lot less food for a much worse atmosphere for my money any day of the week.so yea Domino's on Mulberry gets our money over this place 9 times out of 10

I used to give this pizza a five star but lately the dough is extremely salty and when you add the cheese thats normally salty its way too much I'm not sure what's going on with the dough I've been eating there for over 35 years!

Not too often does a review fall below the "line" but when my slice had an additional amount of flour stuck to the crust, I have to be honest. 6.1 on the rating

OMG I love this place! The pizza is amazing! I have bever had anything other than the pizza it is that outstanding!

The first time i had tried buona pizza there was one man working all by himself that had made me two of the best slices i’ve ever had in the lil city scranton, and for that reason i decided i would always go there when i am visiting and want some good pizza.upon returning with a friend i had hyped up the pizza too i was argued with by a rather disgruntled couch potato about the (nonexistent) debit card policy that had not been in effect the previous time (or have any signs for).

he had claimed to be the owner of this “successful” 50 year business and insisted that he would be punishing the previous woman who had assumed was working for processing my payment.when i explained to him that he would be punishing someone for something that they did not do, he blamed her anyway.overall i would recommend buona pizza to others because it is has bold character and a unique work environment if you happen to be employed there.

The delivery driver was rude, i cant hear a door knock since i live on the 3rd floor and she called screaming at me that it’s here and she needs to leave then when i got downstairs she proceeded to honk and scream at me that it’s on my porch.she could’ve called and just said she was here calmly not screaming into my ear.

Worst customer service. Could tell on phone they didn't want to deliver. Ordered tray of pizza, a steak Stromboli and a 2 liter. They forgot the pizza and charged $26 for Stromboli and soda. Won't be doing business again anytime soon.

We're from Luz county came up for a surgery at the hospital. Figured we would try out this little place.very hot inside (like a sauna) and man cooking pretty rude definitely hates his job Guess he doesn't need business probably why it was dead for lunch time!

This is some really good pizza, especially if you are looking for a round style instead of the square trays that are local to the area. I do love a square pizza as well, but when I am in the mood for a classic pie I go to Buona. My favorite part is the old arcade machines that they have still from the 80s/90s. Such an awesome feel and more pizza shops need to have those machines. If they ever get rid of them please contact me because I will happily take them. I would also definitely buy a shirt from here if they sell them. Great place overall~

Pizza is great but delivery woman was very rude. Delivering to a hospital and told the customer "you look stupid with that mask on, you know they don't work anyway". Well you know what, they're required in the healthcare setting and her opinion shouldn't have been projected onto a paying customer. If the tip wasn't given ahead of time she wouldn't have got one. Will keep this in mind when considering where to order from next time. We don't want to offend any employees we are paying for services again. She obviously hasn't had covid or lost anyone to covid and I feel sorry for her the day it happens.

The best pizza, and the best meatball parm sandwiches in a 100 mile radius, period. The food is always hot, fresh, and consistent. Haters say what they will about the look of the building. Whether you live in the area, or are visiting, I highly recommend Buona, and I highly recommend the meatball sandwiches.

My friends and I were in town for the St. Patrick’s festivities and got in late from NYC. We were driving by and decided to stop in to get pizza. We ordered a pie to stay and it was amazing. Probably the best pizza I’ve had outside of New York City!

Love love love this pizza! It is always perfection! Owner super personable and friendly. Definitely shows he cares not only about his business but his customers as well.
