Buttonwood Campground, Mifflintown PA

Except for the trains and the racing noise, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We had a great time and plan to come back.

We had a great spot overlooking the Juniata river. Nice level spots. The entire staff is helpful and friendly. We already have reservations for next year. Over the years since we started rving, we've probably been there 15-20 times.

Reasonably priced, lovely location, a little close together for my taste, but this is my first Campground experience in a 5th wheel. Clean bathrooms, great amenities! All kinds of fun for the kids, dog parks, seasonal activities. (just don't come to it by 74 with a full size 5th wheel. Very steep, 9% downgrade, on some of the mountains and tight corners! We'll take the long way home, instead.)
Would definitely return to this location!

Buttonwood used to our place to get away an enjoy. It's always clean and looking good. But after this weekend guess be no more for us.
Some bully kid started picking a fight with our son by throwing a ball at him (face). After a few times of asking him to stop my boy got mad an hollered tell him to stop. A Buttonwood staff person near buy did nothing. But later Mr Ryan decided to approach my wife and tell us what happened. Well sorry it's a 2 way street.
But later they were more than happy to take $30.00 for armbands. To use for approximately 4 hour's. No problem taking your cash!
Today upon checking out normally stop an book for next year. Today we're told being kicked out and not allowed to camp here again! An refunded money for our August '23 stay.
It's ok Mr Ryan and family the last few years all you have done is raise prices and not add a single thing! So off to Yogi campgrounds we go. Lot's of activities for kids to do more Gaga ball pits more than one pool to swim in and waterslides!
Thank you for making our decision to not come back easy!

This was our first time at Buttonwood, I fell in love with this place! The grounds are very clean, staff was super friendly and helpful. So many things to do here. My husband and I will definitely be back and bring the grandkids with!

I've camped up-and-down the East Coast and never had a campground so clean, Hospitable with rich history.
The staff were great, the other campers were so nice and willing to help in any situation. I can't believe it took me this long to find this hidden gem which is so close to port Royal Speedway and yes they even shuttle you to the race track! It's nestled right next to the river which you can also tube on, plenty for the kids to do if you have children.they get 5 stars for me! I'll definitely be back

Well run campground. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were constantly being cleaned. The children loved floating down the river. The owner was very cheerful and clearly enjoyed making sure the guests enjoyed their stay!

When I leave a review I like to group it in sections, pros and cons. Some things may not be deal breakers for others so it helps to stay partial.
So my list of pros.
It is a nice family campground. They keep it really clean and continually add to it.
The upper bathroom was one of the nicest we have seen at a campground. The lower bathroom, although not yet updated, was still cleaned daily.
The landscaping was really nice. Colorful flowers and greenery all over the grounds. Even the cabins were landscaped.
They brought in food trucks and vendors throughout the weekend. This is nice for those who may want a bite to eat and not have to cook or travel to get something.
Staff was very friendly. They also escort every camper to their site.
Sites were a little small, but they have upgraded electrical boxes and connections.
The Wine shack on the property is a bonus. Juniata Valley wines offered wine and wine slushies for a fee.
The river tubing was fun and it is nice that they shuttle you to a starting point.
Overall it was a nice relaxing stay with plenty to stay busy, but not overwhelmed.

Cons:
I do not really have any major cons.
The tubes for the river tubing were a bit small and not comfortable at all. They are good if you don't own tubes. But you can bring your own, you just have to drive them to the starting point yourself.

Overall it is a nice family friendly campground. They do sell out fast, so you do need to book really early or hope for a cancellation.

This place is the best. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The staff is amazing, both in the number working at any time and the quality of their service.
I'd give them 6 stars if it were an option.

This is our first time visiting Buttonwood.
We drove 3 1/2 hours from NJ to visit this campground. I must say it is one of the cleanest places I have visited and the best experience is the staff is amazing and so pleasant to speak with. Everybody there is helpful and has all the patience with all my questions before arrival. My family enjoyed every moment there. Definitely will come back every year and will highly recommended to the rest of my family and friends to this campground.

Enjoyable fun campground. Sorry no pics of tubing down the Juanita River. Endless Tubing, laser tag, pedal cars, mini golf.for $20. Wine slushes $5, Golf cart rentals, fishing pond, a dance party one night. Cabins for rent. Playgrounds. Gaga pit, horse shoe pit, basketball court, and dog park area and a game room.ok, thats it.oh i forgot Swimming pool and bounce pillow! New edit.some pics from 2022!

It has been several years since I've had the pleasure of staying here and I can promise there was ZERO disappointment! Updated the cabin interior! I can promise it won't be several years AGAIN! Looking forward to NEXT year already! It was the first time for my 3 year old grand daughter and she loved everything!

This places is beautiful and has lots of stuff to do the only recommendation I have is they clean and fix up the playgrounds

Kind of miss the old days before so many people found out about this great campground. Can't really see the river from site 307 any more because of overgrowth but still pay the premium price.

Love it. Stay there every year for our fishing trip. Always gets better. Always improvements to the campground. So it's always a beautiful and amazing experience.
