Cafe Toscana, Wilkes-Barre PA

They have Brandy listed in two of their meals but I couldn't get a Brandy old fashioned? Probably didn't matter, since they put so much bitters in, I couldn't taste anything else.

The braised beef ravioli and penne pesto were excellent!

Took my mother here for her 80th birthday service was absolutely horrible and the food was even worse should have ask for my money back

Host and hostess very attentive. Dress is casual. I had on Jeans and a hoodie, but you can also dress up. You can also sit at the bar.

A little disappointed the gnocchi's were very doughy the shrimp were overcooked the lobster ravioli were pretty good but it was supposed to be a vodka sauce it tasted like a tomato sauce. The owner came up to talk with me and comp me my meal and was very apologetic. Will try again The Manhattans were really good

Fabulous food! Cafe Toscana gives you as good a meal and service as any restaurant in Italy!

Tuesday 4: 30 one other table in the place. 3 of us, we had Penne w Marinara, Penne w vodka sauce, side of sauteed mushrooms and peppers and Chicken
Florentino w Ceasar salad. All were very good, decent portions. Prices very fair. Service was excellent! 7 out of 10

This was probably one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. We made reservations and when we walked in, the bartender just looked at us, and having never been there before we just stood there waiting for some sort of direction. It wasn’t busy at all but after about 2 minutes he came out from behind the bar and didn’t walk us to a table, but instead just pointed to a table (odd) ? So we sat. A lady comes over and gives us water and then walks away chuckling (nothing has been said that was remotely funny) and we were left confused. Then the waiter comes over. He asks for our drink order and we order alcoholic beverages so we ask if he wants to see our ID (as most places do, especially because we look young). Snarky, he says, “no I really don’t care, but *points towards a camera*. So he continues to look at my ID for an absurd amount of time. Then, as we are eating, the staff was acting strange, and kept walking past our table even with no one sitting next to us but never once checking on us to see if our food was okay or anything like that. Then they proceeded to stand by the bar and stare at us and even laugh in our direction (the entire time!). Whether or not it was towards us, it was extremely uncomfortable. On my way to the bathroom, the one waitress stood there and stared me up and down the entire way, and once I got to the bathroom I literally checked to see if something was on my face that she was staring at? ! At the end we asked for a manager and the waiter insisted we tell him why and what it was about. We told him and he made irrelevant comments and then never sent a manager over. It was an uncomfortable experience and the staff acted like they were on drugs the entire time. 0/10 will never be back. Oh and the food was just okay by the way.

The staff here is horrible. A few of us went here for dinner and they completely ignored us. Not one of them even made eye contact but proceeded to see 6 other groups of patrons before even asking us anything. We didnt have a reservation, so they continued to take others and disregarded us completely. I felt it was because we went there in medical scrubs and not business casual. What a shame to have multiple staff ignore your existence, not even a greeting at the door. I will never go there again, as they do not deserve my money.

Literally EVERY single thing was good here, including the free bruschetta and bread & oil dip.

Not to mention, it's very rare that you go somewhere where you have something that you say that's the best "X" that I've ever had, let alone having TWO things were you say that's the best "X" I've ever had. In this case, it was the best calamari and the best vodka sauce I've ever had.

Visiting the area for work, and found this place. It was the best meal I have had in quite a long time. Make sure you go there if you are in the area.

We had an excellent dinner here prior to the John Mulaney concert. Everyone in our party was pleased with their meals. The starter bread and oil and Caprese app were ok. The calamari and fried cheese were the best apps. NY Strip was well prepared, though slightly past the medium rare I requested. Chicken and shrimp scampi was good, not great. Generally it was a nice food experience.

My favorite. Never disappointed. The food is excellent and the staff phenomenal. I go there regularly. I highly recommend Cafe Toscana.

They have a very robust menu, there is something for everyone here! The portions are big and the bread with the oil is amazing! I got the penne al pesto with shrimp and the sauce is a buttery and light as a pesto sauce, so delicious! We also got cannoli and the bombas ice cream - both very good. The staff is attentive and the ambience is cozy with rustic vibes. Great for date night, casual dinner or a nice event. Highly recommend!

The portions are small.although the quality is very good. The wait staff is horrible.while they are polite, they don't ask if your food is OK nor do they ask if you would like a refill on whatever you are drinking. They do however ask if you would like to see the desert menu.so I can only assume that the lack of service (drinks refill) is at the instruction of the restaurant owner. And another thing that my wife found peculiar.there are no females working there?

Do not make reservations for your New Years here.
The overall attitude of the discourteous staff, no rushed service (if that is what you want to call it) and the cold soup, is just a starter.

The lack of attention and obnoxious server constant request for attention, such as ummmmmm, maybe a spoon for the soup, is inline with the staff's lack of attentiveness.

The were pretty quick with clearing the table though, even though we were still eating the calamari.

Save your appetite for a location that has attention to details, good food and customer service.

The quickest service we recieved was when they came to collect the money for the check.

Service was spot on. The food was excellent. The atmosphere is sophisticated, peaceful and reminiscent of European restaurants. I will return on my next visit to WB

I always love coming here for lunch or dinner. The food is always high quality and very affordable. It is a great place to reunite with friends over a bowl of pasta or enjoy a date night over a glass of wine.

Everything was absolutely delicious. It was the first time in a very long time neither my husband or I went home with leftovers because we ate everything. It was that good.

This is authentic Italian food, with the staff straight from Italy! This is a great place for a dinner date. Dress up and show up hungry. It's a comfy atmosphere with your classic Italian restaurant feel.
