Cali Burrito reviews
21I've never had a bad experience at Cali burrito. The food is great and the service is friendly and fast. The burritos are ENORMOUS and the fish tacos are OUTSTANDING.
I have been coming here for years now. Ordered a burrito with double chicken, white rice, pinto beans, and cabbage. There wasnt even the amount of chicken they put in their regular burritos. Barley any rice and beans and stuffed with cabbage. If I wanted that much cabbage I'd eat some coleslaw. For $10, I could have went to one of the chain places and ate till I burst. Took a few bites and in the trash it went. If you want to get ripped off this is the place!
What can be said about Cali Burrito but WOW! Cali burrito has become a "hallmark" of Allentown. The burritos are the best that money can buy on the east coast. The salsas are always something different and fun to try. If you're ever in Allentown and haven't tried Cali Burrito, you need to drop what your doing and change that!
Place looks very creepy from the outside the entrance is in the front of the building you have to park in a long far away parking lot in the back it's not very kid friendly
This used to be my favorite restaurant in the Lehigh Valley, and they've absolutely RUINED it with a bad change of location and horrible, unfriendly policies. They have been closed for dining for over a year now, which is so over the top and unnecessary. You have to order online and pick up only. So you have your patrons eating around their cars in the parking lot - tailgating basically- at what should be a normal sit down restaurant. The staff is abrasive and rude to guests. You really make a disabled person trudge up steps to get their order then scream at them across the room to wear a mask or go outside? You don't ask if someone might be medically unable to wear a mask? Absolutely a tragedy to see this once fun, lively place where I would get together with friends, now is a sad, cold, empty monument to their past success. Just don't see how this this is a sustainable business model. Very sad to see. The worst part is the food isn't even that good anymore, it's barely seasoned, bland, and they're over-using cheap rice to cut their protein costs. I literally had to empty out my burrito at home and recook with some seasonings to make it palatable.
Everything about this place is a really good experience. Besides one pretty big thing in my book. The food is very bland I had a El Dorado burrito (I think it was called that) and the rice was as white as it could be the pulled pork tasted like unseasoned pork same with all the other ingredients. Salsa is decent but aside from those two issues everything else was great. I've had multiple menu items including tacos, burritos, quesadilla and they all were very bland. Hopefully they add a little mexican flavor to the food the serve. Otherwise good job guys.
Amazing staff, tasty burrito at really modest prices. Tried the mendoza, which comes with beans, rice, steak and cheese and it was delicious and filling. Eat around 4pm and was still full and had no dinner. Highly recommended and their restroom is neat and on point!
Ordered the Sonoma tacos. 2 tacos per order. You can’t order one extra taco. So by having this policy they lose money. Brilliant!
Was in the mood for something other than burgers or hot dogs for lunch. Remembered this place and glad they are open for takeout. Fish tacos hit the spot and the mild salsa added just enough spice. Was a quick stop. Look forward to when the can restart indoor seating.
Really good food. I stop in any time I am in Allentown. As the name implies, the food skews a bit more California than mexican, but don't let that scare you off. There is still a good mexican base lurking in there. And they have several fresh salsas to choose from.
This place has gone down hill! Old food smell and taste, very very inconsistent. The manager that runs this place looks like a grease ball, Actually all their employees are greasy. They say if you want to stick to something burn your bridges, I’m burning my bridge with place, so I don’t ever make the mistake of ordering here again!
Great quality burritos and love the homemade chips.
For the Cali Burrito team, the only thing I would suggest is improving the guac recipe. It is super salty. Otherwise, 5/5.
Use to be great salsa. Nice and fresh. Ate it today and got canned salsa. Tasted terrible. Just the regular hot. Please start going back to normal good fresh made
Even though you can now do dine-in at restaurants they still did not offer a place to sit and eat. The food is always delicious.
Really tasty! I love the selection of salsa and their salsa of the month. A must go when in the area, you won't be disappointed!
I started going here as soon as they opened at their original location and followed them down the road to the new location. Still has it’s chill vibe. Always interesting people there. Staff is usually totally great. For veggie enthusiasts the Santa Cruz tacos are heaven and they can easily make it a GF meal. Choice of sauces and homemade salsas YUM. But beware because lunch or dinner times is typically packed, but a little patience is well worth it.
Just moved to the area in July and Cali was recommended to me for some good Mexican food. It's amazing! Whole place has an awesome vibe and the food is delicious. Already been quite a few times since I moved!
Actually reminded me of a few places in Cali. My wife had the falafel burrito and I had the Sonoma. Both were excellent. We will be back. Definitely.
Their food was amazing all the time when they were at their old location by the King George Inn and a little after when they moved into the old Lupos where they are at now. The last few times I went there for food, the burrito has barely any meat.it’s all rice and beans and the staff is either miserable or have attitude. I know quite a few people who stop going there because of their “rice burritos. ” The last time I went there the worker behind the counter had a terrible attitude, gave me a hard time over getting salsa, and finally when I got home, the burrito was cold and had like 2 pieces of steak in it. Chipotle for me from now on.
There is nothing like their burritos. I moved out of the area 7 years ago but I still go back for my burritos! The Humboldt is the best!
