Camp Allegheny reviews
5 We have 5 kids and all of them have loved and looked forward to their time at Camp Allegheny (2 of them have even become counselors when they were old enough).
So thankful for all that they do for our kiddos and the community!
My three girls have been enjoying Camp Allegheny for years. I knew that we made the right choice sending them to Camp Allegheny when on a random night in November they would still be telling me about their time there. Their experiences there truly have stayed with them. They have continued to grow in their faith while enjoying ponies, horses, swimming, Gaga Ball and so much more. I have recommended Camp Allegheny to friends and I will continue to do so.
Camp Allegheny is the best. We have been sending our kids there for literally 20 years. It has meant so much to me and my wife that our kids are safe and have had amazing experience everytime!
My kids have been going to Camp Allegheny for the past few years and it is something they look forward to every year! In the past we have done grand camp and pony camp. Just recently they went to mini pony camp and wrangler camp. They loved all the activities, riding the horses, and meeting new friends. This is the place where lifelong friends are made and where kids learn about the Word in a meaningful way. Watching my children worship loud and proud at the closing program with their friends and counselors is something that I can't even describe. Their joy and excitement are contagious. Neither wanted to leave camp, and they can't wait for next year. I loved going as a kid, and I am so excited my kids love going there too!
I was so excited to send my little girl to camp for the first time and it backfired horribly. The counselors were awful to the kids, picking favorites and screaming at them until they cried, especially a counselor named Cris. He was especially mean to my daughter and he made her cry multiple times during the week for nothing. Cris must have had some type of mental illness and shouldn’t have been allowed around children. They got four minute showers or the counselors would turn the lights out on them, which is not enough time to practice proper hygiene (they need to update the shower situation). One of the camp directors (Jessie?) would scream at the counselors in front of the kids which really had an effect on my daughter. Cris was very condescending and told my daughter that she was the worst camper he’s ever had. He also told her that she wasn’t a true Christian, which is harmful and religious discrimination. He is not a true Christian to be treating a young girl like this. This is unacceptable and I will not be spending that amount of money again, and I’m not the only mother who feels this way.
