Candlewood Suites Philadelphia - Airport Area, an IHG Hotel, Chester PA

The manager took it upon himself to charge my credit card for an extra night after I showed them they had already charge my card for $760. After I notified them of the situation the manager got an attitude because I told him that I didn't authorize the one day transaction. He told me that he canceled the charge for the $760 because he didn't see where my card was charged and want me to pay another $760 the next day even though he just tied up the first $760 for three days. His exact response was I'm sorry for your inconvenience but we will need to charge you again before the money I just canceled clear or you can get your one refunded and put on hole for 3 days and you can go find somewhere else to stay. So even though i had just had an extra long day dealing with the airport I left the hotel and i will end up having to sleep In my rental for 2 days into I get paid because that over $800 wont be cleared for me to get another room

I have mice all over the room. You can see them and hear them chewing on my empty food carton in the trash. I can not sleep now after I seen them scurrying across the floors and just hearing them chew on stuff.just freaking me out.

We have stayed here twice and will likely in the future. Family friendly hotel and includes a kitchen if you bring your own groceries, it is nice. I would bring your own utensils and cutlery, even if they have included in hotel room. Comfy beds, clean! It is near a train track, so some noise pollution 5 mins every hour.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff and great rates. Fast internet and the hotel is only a few years old so shiny nice and clean.

Really cool place to stay they have a full kitchen. Free shuttle but make sure to call them and make a reservation for it.

My stay there was very pleasant and comfortable and has everything as shown online. What I liked the most was the small kitchen equipped with everything you need. In my case it was very helpful. Everything is very clean, it smells good, quiet, it has a barbecue area, free parking, free laundry, gym and my greatest emphasis is on all the workers in charge of the hotel who are very friendly and attentive to your needs.

This hotel was amazingly clean. It is 15-20 minutes from the airport and uber will be $20+ during busy times. They have a shuttle service that is safe but a bit unreliable. Plan for extra time if you’re wanting to use the shuttle! No breakfast is included because this is a suite/kitchenette style place but it was great. If you want to ride the SEPTA train from the Chester station, make sure you either buy your card at the airport or during weekly business hours as there is no available kiosk at the Chester station after hours or on weekends. The TVs say they can do casting but we couldn’t get it to work. Decent channel selection. Multiple uber drivers and other reviewers have mentioned that the surrounding area is very dangerous. That was not our experience but all we did was walk back and forth to the train station a few times both during daylight and late at night. We felt safe enough.

The hotel was exactly as expected. The staff at the front was rude on a consistent basis. There was a mixup with days as I was staying for a work conference and the woman at the front desk yelled at me about a reservation that I did not make. It was highly inappropriate and unnecessary as I did not make the reservation. The wifi is turned off for your room the night before you check out as well leaving you with no internet on the night before checkout. Terrible service although a decent hotel. I was also informed that the card hold for incidentals will not be refunded for 3 business days as well which is just ridiculous. I checked out on Friday and the fee will be tied up until next Wednesday.

Had called ahead to get a room for 2 weeks, which they said come on, got there and they said oh sorry we can't do two weeks

Great hotel! It's super clean and comfy. The quality of the rooms were so impressive and I was very pleased with my stay. The staff is great and it's super close to the airport, about 12 mins away. The room I stayed in had a kitchen with utensils and plates, dish soap, microwave, stove top, pot, dishwasher fridge with freezer, and a nice long desk for doing work. There's a gym and laundry in the hotel as well. I recommend this stay and will definitely be back here since I travel to Philly often!

I had a very nice clean suite. I had wanted something done. It was taken care of right away.

1st time at this brand from IHG hotels and will be last time EVER. Hotel that dosent have breakfast and coffee area is more like cheap motel and shouldn't be under IHG brand. Oh you hear people above you walk, opening the drawers etc. This is probably IHG cheap brand. I'll stick with Holiday Inn brand under IHG or stay with Hilton Hotels and Marriott Properties, even their Homewood Suites, Spring Hill Suites etc provide coffee and breakfast!
Check out coffee pot, salt shaker taller than it.

This was a very mediocre hotel. The lady at reception was nice, but I think she was the only one working and was really busy. Our room was clean for the most part, but had an odd smell and several things didn't work (thermostat, TV, etc). The property looks nice, but the area is a bit questionable and there's nothing in the close vicinity of the hotel for food/drinks/entertainment/etc. It is conveniently located near the SEPTA train stop and PHL airport though.

Nice clean kitchen. Friendly staff. Worth the price. Chester is responsible for 99% of the crime in PA so don’t plan on exploring the immediate area without protection.

The hotel doesn’t look like the pictures, but it’ll do. It looks pretty clean, not much noise, pretty quiet. The staff seem nice, and not a bad price

It's next to a prison and the dog fee is expensive. The receptionist was arguing on the phone.
