Cargill Aeronautical Academy, New Cumberland PA

I cannot recommend going to Cargill. Once upon a time, when Christian Goss was the owner, they were a great school. The same does not hold true currently. I have been a pilot for 11 years and routinely fly on a weekly basis. The entire scheduling process was a nightmare. They were not able to schedule me when I called in, they had to call me back the next day to let me know what they had available. When they did, we agreed upon a time. After we agreed upon a time, they had to cancel it and reschedule it at the last minute. This morning is when my flight was rescheduled to. I was called at the very last minute by a cocky flight instructor letting me know he had to cancel my flight because of unsafe weather conditions. We were not taking a trip or an extended flight. We were flying local in the practice area right by the airport. The winds were calm and as you can see by the pictures which were taken at my house 2 1/2 miles from the airport, the skies are clear. These are definitely not instrument flying conditions. If you check the weather at capital city right now, they are reporting VFR flying conditions. Yes, there is some weather that is expected to move in later this afternoon, but that is not for several hours and has no effect on current flying conditions here in this area. There is absolutely no reason why a local flight could not have been safely conducted at the time we were scheduled to fly. So, after jumping through hoops trying to get onto the schedule I had my flight canceled for no valid reason at the very last minute. I have flown out of many different airports and many different flight schools, including this flight school when it was under different ownership, today’s experience was the worst in my 11 years as a pilot.

Excellent instructors, good communication and ease of scheduling. Organized and professionally run! Facilities modern and convenient. Great place to get started or advance rating.

Very professional flight training school located at Capital City Airport (CXY). The staff and facilities are top knotch! I highly recommend paying them a visit if you're interested in fixed wing flight training.

I took a uas flight test here. Directions were clear and concise. The test administrator was knowledgeable and professional. The cost of taking the test was much more expensive taking it at this location, but other centers didn't have scheduling available.
