This is a charming French bistro with great drinks, terrific food, wonderful service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I've been here many times and have never been disappointed.

Drinks: Caribou features a number of tasty cocktails, a nice selection of wines by the glass, and a good selection of wines by the bottle. If you're ever unsure of what will suit your palate or what will go best with your meal, the bartender will be happy to offer expert advice.

Food: The food at Caribou is carefully prepared, attractively plated, and delicious. Traditional bistro entrées have been my go-to choice, but other items are also offered including pizzas. The flame grilled burger looks fantastic though I've never had it; however, I plan to try it soon. The chef has always been very accommodating of my extreme, special dietary needs, even completely reinventing dishes for me.

Service: From my first visit and every visit after, I've always felt welcome. Either a hostess, waiter, or bartender has greeted me warmly and immediately. The wait staff has always been knowledgeable, friendly without being intrusive, and efficient. They have always handled my special dietary needs with grace and helpfulness. I've never had to deal with a bad or impatient attitude. When leaving the restaurant, all staff I encounter on the way to the offer a friendly farewell.

Atmosphere: This is a French bistro which means casual. On the first level, there is a long bar, tables, and comfortable booths. Upstairs, there is a small loft dining room overlooking the first floor. When the weather is nice, outdoor seating is available. Wood floors, chairs, tables, and bar help provide the bistro feel with Deco French advertising posters adding a nice touch.

In summary, this is a wonderful restaurant with excellent service and food. You can make your reservation using OpenTable.

UPDATE (Dec. 9,2022) : The food and service continue to be quite good. The food selection and quality have actually improved. However, items have become pricier though prix fixe options will help hungry diners save.

Very mixed bag experience: my crepe with ham and mushrooms was cold inside, the waitress was clueless about the specials of the day and did not attempt to find out but the ambiance was terrific. I don’t think I am going back though

It was all delicious but accessible French food. Even our 8 year old enjoyed it. Def wanna go back for happy hour and to try new things.

A dash of France in Philly. Excellent food and cozy ambiance. Perfect after a show at Walnut Street Theatre.

This was my first time and it was great. I highly recommend the seaford crepe. It was sooooo good. My coworker had the quiche and it looked really good as well. She must have liked it because she ate most of it. Huge plus, it was great portions for the price.
If you are in the city try it, you wouldn't be sorry

I can never remember in my entire 60 year lifespan ever having been to any restaurant and not having been asked if I wanted to dessert after the meal. Yet here I was celebrating my 60th birthday with my brother and I was not asked if I wanted dessert. I ended up eating about half my brother's Is chocolate moose which was good yet I would have preferred to have my own or or the opportunity to select my own. I have been to over 40 French restaurants and never have I ordered steak and been served sliced steak - a steak that was not very good at all. My brother was served soup with no spoon to accompany it so I had to go fetch one for him.
To be fair the Caesar salad I had was very good. But the bottom line is I will not be returning anytime soon to the Caribou cafe.

The best restaurant in Philadelphia! Food resembles the taste of the food in Paris. If you are looking for European up-scale and chic place, this is the place for you. I am definitely coming back again.

In case you don't know any better, don't spend $21 on the baguette cheesesteak. Dessert was good. Service was good. Would go back for a drink but not for food

Cold soup, fake French ambience - more like American one (European speaking here), poor waiter description, everything went bad:/

Food was good and there was a nice atmosphere. Restaurant was a little hot but it might have just been me. Service was excellent and drink had a good pour to them.

It’s a decent spot. Okay happy hour from 3-6 with some small bites and a buck or 2 off some drinks. Atmosphere is nice but the place is typically pretty quiet (I’ve never seen more than 10 people in the place). Bartenders are hit or miss, one of them is not very friendly but still decent at their job I suppose.

They add an extra 4% to the bill which is odd. I just take it off the tip but it is unsettling. Kinda feel like you’re getting robbed and makes you not want to come back.

We were there 4 people for dinner. Food is good. Only thing is not acceptable and not professional that they add extra adjustment %4 to the bill and no explanation; 0 Food is tasty; 4 Service; 4 Atmosphere; 3.75. I would prefer to not going back; there are a lot of same or high quality restaurants to go. Not recommend
