When I first started searching for a wedding photographer, I had a vision in my head of exactly what I wanted our wedding photos to look like. I wanted a photographer that had already shot a wedding at our venue, someone who was flexible (as we didn't want engagement photos done), had two photographers, and someone who had patience. I contacted many photographers and none of them gave me the reassurance that Carmen and Chad did.

After our first meeting with Carmen and Chad, my husband and I walked away with a sigh of relief. The photos Carmen showed us were so beautiful we knew we made the right decision by booking them!

We were married on September 6,2020. COVID made wedding planning very challenging. We rescheduled our wedding two times and Carmen was very understanding through it all. Carmen was so flexible, she even did a “day after wedding photo shoot” with us at our new farmhouse where we got engaged. I can’t say enough good things about Carmen May Photography. They truly made our dream wedding photos come to life. They are not only amazing photographers, but great people as well. They sent us little gifts in the mail- the last one being a custom made wooden box that had printed photos in it, an ornament, and the kindest letter thanking us for allowing them to be part of our big day. Booking Carmen May Photography was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process!

I cannot express how much I love Carmen's service! The pictures from our engagement session and our wedding turned out amazing. We had so many stunning photos from each session. Carmen helped me plan a magical proposal photo session that truly thrilled my fiance. There were so many elements of Carmen's service that I appreciated. But to name just a few: her communication throughout the process was timely and reliable, her attitude was always positive, her enthusiasm was genuine, and her photos were phenomenal in quality!

Carmen and her husband, Chad, surprised my fiance by hiding near the pre-determined proposal spot. As soon as I went down on a knee, they sprung into action. She will never forget the star treatment we received after our magic moment. The settings and angles were creative and really captured our joy and love. Carmen and Chad are such a pleasure to work with - they have such a welcoming charm to them that immediately puts you at ease. We recently did a dog mini session with them and were blown away by their patience and ability to capture our (easily distracted) pups attention! I especially loved the open communication leading up to the shoot and the style guide they provided - this made coordinating outfits a breeze. My boyfriend (who is never thrilled about getting photos done) loved that Chad “ran around to capture photos at all angles - including laying down on the ground”. They had a vision in mind when we arrived, but they never made us feel rushed or uncomfortable. We highly recommend Carmen May Photography and can’t wait to work with them again in the future!

Five stars isn't nearly enough to rate Carmen and Chad of Carmen May Photography. We have had two sessions with Carmen over the last few years and each time, we were blown away! She does a TON of homework to find the spots that fit your style and time of year. My favorite thing about her (and Chad) is how they have this unique way of finding these hidden gems and capturing beauty that you would never know existed until you see it in the photographs. I'm not exactly the type of person that gets excited about a photography sessions (definitely my wife's thing) but I have to admit that Carmen makes it a really fun time and I really do enjoy our time with her (and Chad). We will definitely be back for future sessions!
