Carmen's Famous Cheesesteaks reviews
16The worst of all the cheesesteaks I've had in the city (I've had a lot). The meat they use is straight up garbage. If you're getting a cheesesteak at RTM go to Spataro's (plain roll) or By George (seeded roll). Both are decent options. Stay away from Carmen's.
Meat was dry with no taste, hardly any cheese and couldn’t taste it. Didn’t taste any fried onions. Whiz for the fries was like rec center fake whiz. To top is off, it was small and Cook made one cheesesteak at a time for a line of at least 30 people.
Sure, a Philly cheese steak purist would say that lettuce and tomato doesn't belong, but it sure does make the sandwich taste good. This place is worth the wait?
It is worth noting that the cashier may ask "where you're *really* from" if you have an accent. To which, you should ask where he's really from.
Delicious sub, cheesy cheese fries, fresh and hot. The food was great, well worth the wait in line. The staff was very helpful, and personable.
How many times have I been to this place? 1
️would I revisit this place? Probably not - the food is tasty but the store is unhygienic.
This was the WORSE cheese steak I've every had being from Philly. Not to mention it cost $18.00. Don't waste your time nor money.
Pretty average. Skimping out on ingredients when compared to our sandwich to others previous photos.
$30 for a small and a regular cheese steak.
A Regular is about 8 inches a small is about 5…takes 2 regulars to feed the average man.
Steaks themselves are mediocre. We preferred our local stores back home.
I ordered a veggie hoagie with oil and vinegar. The guy said are you sure you want oil and vinegar no one ever gets that. And I said yeah I always get that on my hoagies. After waiting forever, they gave me some veggie cheesesteak. When I went up to tell them they got my order wrong, they just said "you should have listened better. " Terrible service. Oh and I was there with my brother in law from Ireland. He said the cheesesteak he ordered was "just ok. " You're better off getting your food from better cheesesteak places that don't have terrible service.
Delicious, juicy cheesesteak w/ golden fried onions. Spataros was the name that I went to, not Carmens
The food is so yummy, definitely come and try it, being from nyc, it is delicious, will definitely visit and eat here again.
Very expensive. The bread they used was good, but Ive had better cheesesteaks. They were alright. I wouldn’t pay that much again.
Don’t eat here. Rude staff, refused to give any ketchup and the food is just as bad as the staff. Super over priced for the the low grade cheesesteak and frozen fries! Pick any of the 100 other food vendors at rtm. Don’t waste your money going here!
Super delicious cheese steaks - doesnt need a comment at all. Super nice owner though! He just switched our italian sandwiches with italian cheese steaks - despite that i likely messed up the order.
Half and full size Philly cheesesteaks (or chicken) with choice of toppings like hot peppers, pickles, mushrooms and onions. Popular lunch spot, customized orders, and playing cards passed out instead of order numbers. My mushroom onion full size with steak was hot, savory, and filling.
In total, I waited 90 minutes to put my order in and then get the food. It wasn't worth that long of a wait but 45 minutes would have been a wonderful time.
I like my cheese steaks with a good amount of bread, lots of onions and a gooey inside. I ordered two sandwiches, one with American and one with provolone. The meat was dry on the sandwiches and there weren't many onions, but the American cheese was a real highlight for me. The sandwiches were solid, but not something you should wait over an hour for.
