Casa Toro Mexican Grill reviews
15 Update: they have, hands down, the best burgers in the Valley. The off the charcoal grill flavor is so unique, not to mention the super fresh toppings, and consistency each time we go!
Delightful surprise! We were quite happy with the food! Very fresh and even "house" drinks were quite good - no fake sour mix, hooray!
My husband loves this place he always gets the rollos Acapulco and a house margarita. I love the fried avocado with meat. They give you chips and salsa when you sit down at a table. They have a bar you can sit, drink and eat at also.
I believe there was only one person there when I went, but she was very sweet, let us take our time. She brought the food out very fast! The food was spectacular! I would recommend. Plates big, worth your money! Got the churro and the fried ice cream. Best thing ever! I didn’t sit at the bar. I went on a thrusday. There was flies but I understand tgat
Just a quick rundown, as I just ducked in here to get outta the rain, and it wasn’t a bad experience.
As a native Texan who grew up on “Tex Mex”, this place is an ok substitute for what I remember.
I arrived in the rain on Sunday at 12: 30pm. I decided to sit at the bar as there wasn’t anyone at the host stand.
Someone arrived shortly, and I was given a placemat and silverware, and a drink order was taken. I chose a rocks “house Margarita”, no salt. Wowza! Nice kick, although a bit much on the acidity. All in all, a nice margarita. (I ordered three. It better be good!)
For food I chose the house guacamole and the Adobe chili.
Guacamole came with “house made” chips (always Leary of this statement), and was pretty flavorful and still a small amount of “chunky” avocado, with onion, tomato, cilantro and cotija cheese. Not bad, but it appeared extremely processed. (Might just be over whipped?)
Anyway, for the price I’ll say this place is a good deal for what you get. Friendly service, and lively patrons for a Sunday afternoon in the rain.
Delicious Mexican grill. Service was on point, and staff was friendly and professional. Hidden gem back in the corner.
First time here celebrating with my niece on her 21st birthday. Very impressive place. Spacious dining area, cool atmosphere, very good food, large portions, good drinks, and a fantastic waitress made for an excellent time! A must return for sure!
I’m going to start by saying once upon a time I loved this place. The food was good, it was clean, the service was always ok. I went today with my boyfriend for a quick bite and we sat at the bar. The entire experience start to finish was atrocious. We both had dirty silverware so we set it on the edge of bar. The bartender never picked it up or came back to take our order because she was too busy talking to her friends to acknowledge we were ready. We got the other bartenders attention and she took our order and replaced the silverware. She was nice enough but didn’t seem like she wanted to be there and she was on her phone most of the time. The salsa was stacked six plates high on top of each other which is what we were given when we sat down so the bottom of the previous plate was literally touching the salsa (you can tell because it was smashed down flat in the dish) and it was warm. Who knows how long it had been sitting there. The food came out quick and was mostly fine, the steak is super cheap and they have definitely changed it. The one bartender (Taylor?) continued her conversation with her friends as she walked around the bar shouting to them so they could hear each other. Maybe this is part of the reason why this place has a completely empty bar on a Saturday night at 7: 00. We were not expecting five star service or food, we really weren’t even expecting three star service considering what you get these days at most places, but we will never go back to this restaurant. We tip 35-40% at all restaurants for standard service, and I didn’t even want to leave the 15% we left. Absolutely terrible, and disappointing considering what they once were.
Legit authentic Mexican food. Great bar and margaritas. Been going for years. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Tacos aren't their strong suit, so go for an entree; you won't regret it.
The food and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The service was slow, the food was bland. Don't think we'll be going back.
First time here, recommended by a coworker. The food was plentiful and great tasting. We experienced good service in a timely manner with a friendly and in jokingly appropriate manner. We will definitely go here again.
I love this place! Food is always delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is kind and friendly always! A+
Waiter told us we had to leave. They had to have the table for reservations coming. I didn't even finish my drink. There was 10 tables open. Never in my 65 years have I ever had a Waiter tell me that we had to leave. Will definitely never go back. Waitress was nice.
We were here with the family only once, but everyone liked it very much, delicious food and very affordable prices. We will definitely return. I recommend!
First time here. Menu is simple and food presentation was beautiful. Nice open dining area. We were early so it was very private. People started to come in as we were leaving. Make sure you try the poblano soup!
I had the Avocado Salad with Grilled Chicken and a cup of Poblano Soup. Both were excellent. And the fresh made chips and pico de Gallo were great too.
