Centennial Arboretum reviews
7Great huge park. Fragrant flowering trees lure into their crowns. Some like to lie on the grass and have picnics, some like cycling, some come to the park to go to the Asian corner and feed the huge carps. A small fountain helps to cool down a little in the heat. There are almost endless spaces where you can walk for long hours.
We usually bring some picnic sheets with friends. 22 ppl together with Cherry blossoms Picnic Hanami for this time.
These years we didn't see any TOILET (if not open the garden) but This year, some portable toilet in there by Shofuso and Parking area by Montgomery creek valley.
We did an egg hunt for our kids
There is Cherry blossoms fes in Mid April too. Taiko or some performances, C
costume competition food trucks, Kimono shop etc
Beautiful park right next to the city, convenient and lots of parking! My go to place during weekend!
One of the nicest gardens in Philadelphia. The peak cherry blossom bloom is an immersive experience that can't be missed. Close by is the Shofuso Japenses house. There are a variety of trees that will captivate the imagination and serve as a perfect back drop for photos.
Not sure how many trees have been cut down here, but a great many. Parts of the arboretum now feature a direct view of I-76. On the plus side, the paths are clearer.
The state of the some of the statues is poor. In particular, the Verdi monument is falling apart due to lack of maintainence.
We went for the Winter Getaway and it was a blast! We will be looking for more events to go again!
This place rules. It is awesome that Philly has public spaces like this. The (free) getaway at the greenhouse event was excellent. Great programming for younger kids and good food and drinks.
