Great school district for those of us that actually live in the district and don't just rage review because " they won't do what we want ". The book ban never happened but the the wokies didn't care they just reacted. Sad group.

It took students who decided to protest for the school to reverse the banning of books and educational materials about blacks and native americans. In the world of diversity and inclusion i find it shameful and deplorable for the school to ban books about blacks and native americans. Massive respect for the students who stood up against this.

Shameful district. Absolutely disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves for banning such wonderful books.

I don't have any personal experience with the school district as I don't live here. But I have been following the story of them banning diverse resources and books wholesale from their school districts. Most of the books on the elementary list don't even discuss race issues, but are merely books that contain diverse characters. I have many of these books in my home and most of them are beautiful books that encourage creativity and striving for success and hard work and overcoming obstacles. Some of them just encourage children to love themselves. Many of them are factual biographies of real people, like Mae Jemison and Rosa Parks. When did it become appropriate for educators to hide and suppress the stories of African-American national heroes and NASA astronauts? The school board should be ashamed.

My Grandmother graduated from Central over 60 years ago. She was raised to love and respect everyone. To listen to people's opinions, even if you don't agree with them. To hear their stories, even if you couldn't relate to them. To respect and celebrate each other's differences.

Todays Central School District is something she'd be embarrassed about. Banning or reviewing books because you don't personally like the subject matter is absurd! Schools are a place for learning new things and discussing different points of view. For learning!

I would never send our children to this school!

Banning books and movies that speak about slavery and tell the truth about heroes like Rosa Parks, by this Lilly white school board is disgusting. This board is a disgrace and an abomination. The entire board needs to be replaced.

Some of the teachers are really great and I really feel like they try their best to really teach and engage the students here. The only reason why I'm giving them a three is because the high school failed to honor my daughter's 504 plan for the first 3 years of high school. Which is basically the whole time and when they did honor the plan that was apparently in her file folder the whole time buried beneath other papers, she was a Senior. Tell me what good that would have done.

Now I’m in the 9th grade in a different school district since 7th grade. When I compare the environment from Central to my current school, I can say that the Central York environment is a lot more comfortable and out-going compared to the no air conditioning, difficult assignments that mine does. But, the education that is given at my district is more and gives the students more opportunities, only problem is that if you finish say for an example half of geometry in 7th grade in Central York Middle School and you move to where I am, you can’t move on to the next course; they don’t even offer you a test to show that you can do it since you didn’t finish it. Overall, the education here is better, the environment at Central is more comfortable and friendly.
