Century 21 Fairways Real Estate reviews
2The workers are so nice and reliable but I got sold a dirty apartment with some appliances/walls that do not work correctly/are damaged
It wasn't unlivable, but it wasn't great either. I began my lease with the property owner because he enlisted Century 21 as a property manager. Their "online rent paying system" was unusable, meaning I had to physically mail checks monthly and wait days for them to be taken out. Not a huge deal, but pretty inconvenient.
However, the main issues come from them being unresponsive to maintenance issues and when it came to getting my deposit back. With maintenance, they had a guy come to my apartment knowing the issues I had, one included water leaking through my windows or wall somehow, likely from the roof or above floor, and other simple issues like the closet door and pantry door being off track. A guy finally came to my apartment, looked at it, and said he'd come back the following Monday with the tools and check out the apartment above. This never happened, I never heard from facilities again even after contacting them a second time and being told it would be looked into.
With my deposit, for some context my landlord when I moved in was very laid back, this coming with the con of my apartment being very unclean when I moved in. When I moved out, I did not deep clean but I wiped down everything, swept, mopped, and dusted everything. I left the place cleaner than I moved into it. When the 100 was deducted, the things cited were a tiny piece of paint that came off the wall from a command strip (which my landlord stated at the beginning of my lease was minor wear and tear and would not be deducted if this happened), cleanliness, and the very door hinges that I reported to have issues months ago. He stated the walls were unclean when it was clear before me there was a smoker living there, I did not smoke, and it was not my responsibility to clean what was not clean when I moved in. I tried to fight this, but I kept getting told my landlord would "be contacted" and I would hear back. This was a lie.
I do not recommend renting with them if you have better options. They aren't the worst in my experience, but they certainly aren't the best. If you do, definitely don't make the mistake of forgetting to record the apartment on move-in and move-out.
