The doctors are the best. Not only knowledgeable but they also have a very caring manner. The front office staff is efficient, and appointments move along smoothly and quickly. I go to Doctor Schaeder, and she's wonderful, but many family members have also gone to Dr. Chang and he is also an excellent doctor. I highly recommend this group. I've referred friends to them as well.

Bad experience. I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment as requested. For the 3rd time in a row, I waited 25 minutes to be seen. I was told at checkout at my last appointment that this was a 6 month follow up to cataract surgery. I was told I would not be dilatated. Well, they wanted to. I would not be able to drive home.
I was told I would have to reschedule. They schedule multiple people at the same time for the convenience of the Doctors. Patients are also customers. Bad patient and customer service.
I won't go back there,

My wife has called Dr Chang office 3 or 4 times in the last 3 weeks to get an appointment for her and I in Scott township office. All we get is a recording to leave a name and phone number and we will contact you within 24 hours. We are still waiting for return call. Are they still in business. Inquiring minds want to know.
I would hate to try to find another great Dr Chang and his associates.

Be prepared to wait. Took my elderly mom for an eye exam and it took 90 minutes from the time we arrived. Never again!

The rudest staff I’ve ever met at a medical office. They don’t care about the patients, only getting through the day. Refused to adjust my Warby Parker glasses after going there THREE TIMES before and them doing it with no issue. The woman there was so rude about it too. Will never be returning.

The experience was professional, yet personal as well. These folks are friendly and accommodating. They made it clear that if any time during the process I was uncomfortable in the least, I was to let them know. The procedure, although lengthy was not uncomfortable the results were great!

I have been really appreciative of Chang Eye Group service over the years. I have a good friend who’s had numerous very specialized issues and they have always been amazing for her.

Unfortunately, there’s been multiple times in the last year Chang Eye Group has let me down seriously.

Just recently my wife had an issue with her glasses on vacation in Florida. We called Chang to request they send her script over to the local place here.

They refused to provide a description despite providing a full exam of the eyes plus additional tests to check for the issues she was referred there for. They even billed for an eye exam but said it was medial so they didn’t write a script. WHAT!? !

Anyways, another time I personally was at Chang Eye Group. I walked in for my appointment and the front desk clerk advised me they couldn’t find my insurance information.

I asked if she checked both my last names and any variations. She said “well I can’t try them all. ” I said “no, just search Will Young and Will Reynolds and Will Reynolds Young. You could check for a hyphen as a bonus. ”

She said she tried all those and more with no luck and the one profile she did find wasn’t active for years. I offered to call the insurance company. She said that we don’t usually call them for you. I said, that’s no problem, I can, what should I ask?

She said it’s just that they usually won’t talk to the front desk staff only the patient.

So I called and it took about 30 minutes of explaining to get to the correct department and team to help with the situation. Another 15 minutes to get the rep up to speed.

Low and behold, the rep asks to speak with the front desk person because there shouldn’t be any problem locating me or seeing that my profile is active.

For the next few minutes I had to argue with the front desk to take the phone for the assistance. Then when she finally gave in less than 1 minute and the issue was fixed.

Another time, I tried messaging and calling them asking for my script. I never received replies and they suggested I come in person. (I was in Texas with broken glasses.)

My wife wanted to order sunglasses online, Chang refused to provide her prescription in the manner in which Zenni required either Chang sends it by fax or email or Chang provides the client a copy to submit.

I really wish I could feel like I could trust Chang again. The doctors are amazing. My wife even worked with them for several years. Great people.

Rude office staff. I just watched someone walk out because the staff was rude to her, then I was called up to verify that nothing has changed with my insurance, address, etc. & went back & forth with the woman who handles that on when I was here last, she kept insisting that it was 7 months ago when it was only 3 weeks ago. Then she dismissed me & told me she to take a seat. What is going on here? I have been coming here for the last 20 years & have never witnessed anything like this before nor have I ever been treated like that. Dr. Chang your office staff seriously needs training on their customer service skills. I know that they are busy but this at 8: 45 in the morning, I can’t imagine what they are like later in the day.

I've been seeing Dr. Chang and more recently, Dr. Schraeder for probably 25 years and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. They're so helpful and friendly and really care about their patients.

When trying to schedule appointments for myself and two children (who have all been seen here before), I was advised that households can only have up to two appointments in one day. So even if three appointments are available, they won't schedule you. I will not be returning.

Always a very pleasant experience. Dr. Chang always takes the time with his patients to hear their concerns. He an his staff make the visit comfortable and relaxing.

Professional staff. Answers patients' questions. Experiences with my physician have been positive. I would recommend Chang Eye Group to other individuals. One negative: wait time has, on many occasions, been overly lengthy.
