Charming Star Playroom, Newtown Square PA

This place was absolutely amazing. You arrive in an adorable shopping strip area and then go down a set of stairs (be mindful that these are steep). Check in is quick and easy because reservations are made online ahead of time in blocks (9-12 pm, 12: 30-3: 30 and 4-7). You place your child’s and your items in cubbies and keep your socks on for the play area. No food and drink is brought into the play area (adults are allowed to place a drink on cute little yellow shelves throughout the room) but lots of space to eat and drink in the cafe area. The age range is 0-6 and there is just so much for your child and you to do and explore. The carpet is the cleanest carpet I have seen in my life and I’m still thinking about it. Every play station has had so much thought put into it. Even the walls have things for your kids to touch and play. There are plenty of wipes if your kids tend to put things in their mouths. There is a restroom in the play area so you don’t even need to leave the area to use the bathroom. I think the only single con I have is that they are so amazing that they are booked most weekends for private parties and don’t have open play most of the time on weekends. I highly recommend this place for parents who stay at home with their kids or just those days off school/daycare. I’ve already signed up for some more days and can’t wait for more adventures!

Friendly, organized, and delightfully decorated. Everything was clean and they had a good selection of toys and amusements for a wide range of ages. My 8 month old daughter and 4 year old nephew loved it.

We have been having parties here for the last couple of years and everyone has a good time. Staff is always amazing. Just bring your party and have fun!

Fun place! Thought out well with many things to entertain the little ones. My granddaughter and her friends had a blast! (And the local pizza is top-notch!)

Beware of Charming Star Playroom. After visiting one time I now have a random $900.00 charge to my account from them that I did not authorize. Don’t bring your children here unless you want to be scammed.

I visited this place once with my 2 under 2 and fell in love. It was a no brainer that i wanted my youngest who’s birthday was coming up to have her party here. I Had an amazing 1st birthday party for my daughter. The staff were attentive and helpful. The pizza provided had great taste. I love that when you book a party you have the whole place to yourself. My kids and their cousins had a ball. Can’t wait to return

Today was our first visit and I already cannot wait to go back! I took our 18m old daughter and the 12m old little boy here and they had a BLAST. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the whole facility and how warm and welcoming everyone was. It was nice to beat the heart but also let the kids burn off some energy! We enjoyed the snacks that they provided (they add it to your tab and you pay when you leave). Oddly enough my personal favorite was how they have a highchair in the restroom so your little ones aren't on the floor while you're changing another diaper or going to the bathroom yourself! I wish I could give this place more stars than just 5 and we will definitely be back soon!

We had my daughter’s 3rd birthday party here and she and he friends had the best time ever. They were immediately comfortable and felt welcome to the many toys, slides and ball pits. There is something for every child. We did a frozen theme with an Elsa appearance that was excellent the staff structured activities for. All we had to do was being cake, balloons and party favors. There were 3 staff members that helped us set up and cleaned everything up including packing up our gifts while we were busy having fun! All of her friends are asking if they can do the party again.

This place is great! It’s such a large space but somehow cozy as well. I have taken my 10 month old son who isn’t walking and I feel so safe with him there. There’s are so many wonderful areas to play in and the automatic bubbles are a great! Love this hidden gem and it doesn’t hurt I love walking distance away. Definitely recommend bringing your child anywhere from infancy to 6 years old!

What an amazing place to take a kiddo! You'll need to reserve a time prior to visiting, but the process is super easy and it's very affordable. Time slots are typically 3hrs, but you can arrive anywhere within that 3hr window. There are many different activities to keep your kiddo busy, as well as snacks and drinks available for both kids and adults. Friendly and helpful staff as well as very clean and well kept facility! My daughter and I love this place. Will definitely visit regularly!

Charming star is the best of the best of commercial playrooms as far as cleanliness and visual appeal! Love charming star!

Very disappointed. Looks like a fun place. We were denied entry on a Saturday afternoon because my daughter wasn’t part of upcoming 3pm birthday party. Just here for independent play.

You would think they would make that clear before people make their way to the business. Why are you open if it’s closed for private parties.

We originally booked a party here for May 2020. Due to covid 19, our party had to be rescheduled. We decided to still have a “birthday parade” to celebrate. Charming star really showed up and showed off being the caboose to our parade with an amazing float and Mickey Mouse! Such kindness and personality from the owners. Can’t wait to have our party here this year!

We have been going to Charming Star since they opened. It is so well ste up in terms of play areas, toys and activities, and seating for accompanying adults. I love that I can see the entire playroom no matter where I sit, which makes it so much easier to keep track of multiple kids. After more than a year of staying home due to Covid, we returned recently and it was just the same as we remembered! So inviting, so fun, and in these times, SO CLEAN. I didn't worry for a second about my 4-year olds. I was actually able to sit back and relax with a friend while they played. If I had taken my 1-year old, I would have followed her around to make sure she didn't put things in her mouth, but she would have had a blast too. It is a great place for kids under 5/6.

Went for a theme night. The family pizza is good for the kids, but don't expect something that is full sized. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and the kids had fun. A win all around.

Place is great, owners are awesome- highly recommend for a quick play day and for birthday parties. Following them on Facebook has been cool because they do a lot of neat stuff for kids.

First time visiting Charming Star Playroom. We all loved it. It is beautiful and truly fun for kids easily up to age 8. Charming Star provoke creativity in kids and a sense of satisfaction in Mamas. I wish there was only one single entrance fee for those interested to stay all day rather than double process payment and double the fee. We will visit again. And highly recommend taking your kidos there.
