We moved my grandparents into Chartiers Bend toward the end of 2019. While our experience started positive under the original management, things quickly went downhill as soon as the new managers stepped in.

These people have zero compassion for the residents or their families. My grandfather passed away while living in Chartiers and, instead of offering support, they tracked us down within minutes of finishing his funeral to complain that he never signed a document for them. This was a very difficult day for all of us and having management chase us down only to berate us because my grandfather (who had been in the hospital) didn't sign a paper is absolutely heartless.

They also treated my grandmother who has dementia like she was subhuman. We secured aids to assist with her care and they treated them like garbage as well. It's very apparent they were annoyed at her ailments and just wanted her out by any means possible.

There are definitely some shining stars at Chartiers. The staff that works in the dining area is absolutely lovely! You could visibly see my grandparents light up when they interacted with them. I only hope management treats their staff better than they treat their residents.

I honestly would not recommend this place and if I could do it over again I would pick somewhere else. It makes me sad to think my grandfather spent the last part of his life somewhere that treated him so poorly.
