Chestnut Hills Dental Monroeville reviews
24Was there for my mom but if I decided to which Dentist for myself your definitely on the radar
The staff is always very friendly and professional. I always feel comfortable going for my regular checkups.
I’ve been a patient at the monroeville office for over 10 years, but we will no longer be going here. Our past 4 appointments were scheduled 6 months ahead of time on Saturdays. My husband and I have had each of these appointments cancelled by the chestnut hills staff.every single one for two years! Today was the last straw, they called and told us the office will not be open on Saturday for our appointments and the next available appointments wouldn’t be until the middle of November. I feel like this is a Seinfeld episode: they can take the appointment, they just can’t keep the appointment. So done with this office.
10 years ago I had great experiences with this office; however, the last few years have been nothing but a nightmare. I've truly believe that I had unneeded work done, I'm so unhappy with my teeth because of them, the girls at the desk/on the phone are miserable and no where near personable. I'm not getting bothered with letters and phone calls that I'm responsible for an insurance due balance, but when I contact my insurance company, they have never received a bill. I would give 0 out of 5 stars if I could.
I originally went to this dentist because they are open on the weekends. I had a root canal and crown done by them but the dentist cut away too much of my gums at the top, exposing the top of the tooth. The root canal was painful because of so many shots to numb my mouth. At a cleaning there about 6 months later, I was told that since there is now a gap at the top of the crown, the tooth would get another cavity, after which they would have to do a second root canal and redo the crown. Why would I want them to redo the work when it should have been done correctly the first time? My tooth hurts more now than before I had the root canal. I"m not convinced that it was needed in the first place. The front office is terrible to deal with. Often I'm called ahead of time to reschedule. When this happens I reschedule, only to have someone else from the front office call about rescheduling again about an hour later. There was one instance where I was called 4 times in a single afternoon from different people at that office to reschedule. Every time I go here, it feels like no one is really in charge.
The worst customer service ever! Worst reception staff! They don't even deserve a star, but had to give one in order to post this! Due to an error made on THEIR part for not taking an old insurance off my file when adding the new one my credit was almost in jeopardy. I never once received any invoices, but instead a dismissal letter from the practice! I called to find out what was going on, and when they finally got to the bottom of it they realized it was their fault! After finally getting it all straightened (or so I thought) Along with calling the office just to double check that everything was ok, I was again told it was. The next day I found out I was sent to collections! The bill was for $70.00! I kept telling them I could pay it, but they kept saying my insurance would let me know what portion if any I would be responsible for. I was told to call my insurance company to see why it wasn't paid, and they explained to me that Chestnut Hills Dental never delated my old ins card information so it looked like I had secondary insurance. I called the office told them this, they told me they resubmitted it to my current ins company, and not to worry. Only to find I was sent to collections. I called to ask that they remove me and I was told only a manager could do that. I asked If I could speak to her and I was told they don't know when she will be in the office for me to speak to! I paid the bill just to not have a negative score on my credit report, but was dealt with very poorly, when trying to explain my story. I was talked over, and cut off! This was their fault, had they just paid attention to details and removed the old insurance none of this would have happened! The worst part is being sent to collections after being told everything was fine! We have been going to Dr Garver's office in Penn Hills and had to stop going when my insurance changed! We are so glad we are back with them! The only reason I went to them was because that is where my old insurance told me I had to go! Thank god I am no longer a patient there! Be smart if you decide to go to them and make sure you constantly check that an old ins is removed! Unfortunately you need to do the work that they should be doing!
This is the worst dentist office I have ever dealt with. It’s been almost a year since my family went in for cleanings and the billing issue still is not resolved. We have gotten 3 different amounts that need paid. Our insurance stated $67 they stated $110 and then my online account says $220 and those prices are for each of the 3 of us. They first billed my insurance as accidental dental work instead of routine. Then they resubmitted the charges 4 different times all with different prices. When you call the lady knows nothing and is not helpful at all. I just filed a complaint with the BBB and you wouldn’t believe the amount of people with the same issue. So just save yourself the trouble. I also contacted the attorney general to report them for insurance fraud.
Short waiting time and excellent staff. My Dental Hygienist was gentle when working with me. Makes me wanna come back again:)
She also explained to me what procedure needs done and printed out my options with out of pocket expense dependng on my choices.
Me and my family love Chestnut Hills Dental in Monroeville! Love the staff and quality care we always receive.
I always look forward to Nancy cleaning my teeth. She does a thorough job and doesn't hurt me at all. Dr. Sasala and his
Dental Assistant, Trish recently did some crown work on a tooth of mine. The procedure was totally painless even when giving me the novacaine shot. They are real pros and I feel comfortable and secure in their care!
Terrible in every respect. Checkups and cleanings are scheduled separately, unlike every other dentist I've ever been to. (And they do not tell you this ahead of time.) At my first visit, I had to assist the hygienist in using her computer system. Hygienist and dentist argued through my cleaning.
Then, to top it all off, we've had multiple instances of them taking forever to submit our bills to our insurance company, billing us, threatening to turn us in to collections, and then angrily calling and asking why we sent them a check when our visit was covered by insurance.
Terrible office staff, very rude to patients, the dental hygienist is very good, shame she isn't somewhere else
Dr. Schrenker and the staff at Chestnut Hills Dental are the professionals I have been looking for to assist me in maintaining my dental health. Dr. Schrenker E pains everything in easy to understand language, develops an individualized dental plan and then follows through step by step. It is super being listened to by Dr. Schrenker. He and his staff are professional, competent and friendly.
I first saw Dr. Sasala when I had issues with some chipping on an old crown right before I had to leave on a business trip. It was a Saturday, and I was a new patient but they fit me in. At first I thought this would be like a "chain" that I had experienced in the area before (since they could fit me in), but it wasn't like that at all. The office staff is very warm and personable, and it really feels like the care is driven by my needs first.not profit first. For that reason, I was very comfortable choosing them to replace some old worn crowns. Unfortunately, I had a little bit of a bumpy road with one of the crowns (because of a hospital stay on an unrelated matter and not their fault), but Dr. Sasala has been very patiently making minor corrections a bit at a time to resolve the issue. The entire staff is terrific about doing whatever they can to accommodate and help.
Mrs. Villa is a fantastic hygienist. She is kind, friendly, and extremely professional. I typically go together with my 6-year-old daughter, who likes to converse a lot. Mrs. Villa always takes the time to be approachable, and to relax her. My daughter loves to come to the clinic, especially to see her and converse. It is always so much fun!
Dr. Sasala and Trish are a fantastic team! They made my dental experience so comfortable. I've found the best dental practice in the entire Pittsburgh and surrounding area!
I went the first time for a cleaning. They made me come in once for just x-rays and a review. Then they found a cavity and made me come back for that and then scheduled a third appointment for the cleaning about three months out from my first appointment. My tooth hurts worse after the cavity they filled so I never went back for the cleaning. I hated it here.
Dr. Sasala and the rest of the staff have ALWAYS been tremendous and very professional. I always enjoy my office visits. Never had a problem whatsoever.
The staff here is beyond amazing! They take care of my 4 year old daughter like shes the queen! She loves the staff and i love how sweet and efficient everyone is!
After the hygienist told my child her teeth were ugly, I think I have heard enough. Also the manager did nothing about it after making a complaint.
