Chickies Rock County Park reviews
20Love it here. It is an easy walk to the outlook and some slightly harder trails to follow. The trails are all suitable for kids. Loved the outlook. The outlook really gives a nice overview over the river.
The pavilion was taken, but there was plenty of room for us to set up our own tent and have a great time.
It was also an easy walk to the water and some fun short trails. There was a Porta potty and is a play structure for kids as well!
It is a bit far for us to use often, but definitely a great place to get together for an outdoor event.
I absolutely love it there. It is so beautiful and I
love that you can see both ways on the river. My brother passed away a year ago this October and he loved going here. So when I visit I feel very close to him. Next time I go I want to be there when the sun rises.
This place was absolutely beautiful! The trail itself is great for beginners. There is a slight incline at the beginning but after that it's a fairly easy trail. It wasn't too crowded either. I really enjoyed my time here. I will most definitely be visiting again soon.
This is a popular Overlook on Chickies Rock the trail from the parking lot on Rt. 441 is well kept and we'll worth the 3/4mile hike to the overlook
I liked it however take the flat trail unless you know where you're going on the trail that leads uphill. Beautiful view of the Susquehanna River
I had a wonderful hike at Chickies Rock. The trails are rugged and beautiful. The Overlook is breathtaking. Chickies Rock is definitely place you will want to put on your bucket list.
This place is a money trap for the government, spent 15 minutes being harassed by an officer for going 10 feet past a hard to read sign. Go somewhere else
Nice little trails, and a stream crossing. Leaves can be really slippery and some parts are quite steep, so good footwear is necessary. Not a long hike, but a fun one!
So great. Amazing views of the Susquehanna. Great hike there's a couple of different ways that you can go a bit more adventurous roots but there are some way back roots. Me and my 4-year-old went to the first time I would recommend it to anyone that I talk to. We definitely plan on going back.
Great place to get fresh air and a beautiful view, all within a short easy walk (0.5 mile) from the parking area! Highly recommend it!
Bring a snack or a meal and enjoy the view of the river. There are some picnic tables and a gazebo. This small park is about 100 feet above the river (and with a sheer drop) so the view is beautiful. I was there in the late morning, but suspect it must be beautiful at sunset. If you have small children you will want to keep them close so they don't fall.
Short hike, about 3/4 of a mile to the overlook. Loose rock, sand, and lots of roots, so not the best for strollers or wheel chairs. Beautiful overlook of the Susquehanna river.
Trails were hard to find. Everyone was jumping off the cliff to play in the water. The rest of the crowd was jet skiing. It was cool for a day away. I wanted to hike but I don't think I was in the right location to take the trails.
Good view of the Susquehanna River. The river is geologically very interesting in this area. When you park, you don’t need to climb the hill to get to the overlook.
Good hike, i wish we would have contacted the park ahead of time and got a map with some of the smaller trails to explore
My lord, I been visiting my sister in law for the past 10yrs, I never knew this park, is awsome, we only expend a couple of hours there, to short, I will go back and explore a lot more
Great lookout points both at the gazebo on the south end and the traditional rocky outcrop on the north. Nice breezes too, and about 20 minutes from downtown Lancaster.
It is about a mile walk back in. The map and trail could be better. There are some trails on top that you can take, but they all lead to no where.
