This office is a SHAME of CHOP system. Front desk didn’t care about patients. Almost every kid came after us was called. Front desk didn’t even bother to look at my kid’s chart.

Highly overrated; the staff appears not only arrogant but also sluggish. Experiencing prolonged wait times has become a consistent issue. If, by chance, you inquire about the doctor, be prepared to be told, "If it's urgent, go to the ER. " This highlights a deficiency in empathy, supervision, accountability, ownership, and professionalism. Outsourcing patient care services to external providers seems to be a bad business decision made by CHOP leadership.

Went on a Sunday to urgent care and walked right out. Looked like a third world country in the waiting room. I will never come back here. It was absolute chaos with parents screaming and front desk screaming right back, packed waiting room with very very ill children. They told me over 3 hour wait & have to stay on premise. I was worried my baby would get even more sick by staying there. It’s the opposite of CHOP reputation we all know of.

The wait time, front desk, and nurse were all fine. Our actual Dr, J. Lhost was the disappointment here. My newly 3 yr old son came in for severe pain in bottom when trying to go to the bathroom and her actual notes were “whines and cries when asked to pee in cup” and “refuses to use toilet”…who talks about a toddler like that? ! When in fact he tried both but couldn’t go, which is besides the fact. Just really strange bedside manner here. We came here for a diagnosis, not a potty training lesson Dr. Lhost.

I recently visited the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with my 4-year-old son who was quite sick. Unfortunately, our experience was less than satisfactory. We ended up waiting for 6 hours in the ER, and it was disheartening that nobody seemed to prioritize or address our concerns promptly. Improved efficiency and more compassionate care would greatly enhance the overall experience for families seeking medical assistance.
Try another location people are so so rude also

I arrived at 1 in the afternoon, an assistant came out with a very bad face and a despotic and very rude attitude, she told us that they served at 2 so that we should go somewhere else but with a bad character, this place of having prosperity is being the worst.

Wait is ridiculous. Very little attention or information to parents/patients through various waiting stages. CHOP can do better.

The wait is worth it, the service, the professional care we received was amazing. They were so caring and considerate. Recommend!

We took our son in with a fever on a Saturday as we were directed to by the on-call doctor with our pediatrician, and we were basically treated like we were stupid and crazy for brining him in with just a fever and a “viral” infection. He saw his primary doctor 2 days later and was diagnosed with strep throat. The CHOP doctor didn’t even look at his throat, didn’t even feel his lymph nodes, and didn’t offer a rapid strep test. Our pediatrician couldn’t believe she didn’t see his poor red throat or feel his swollen glands! If he hadn’t have seen his real doctor 2 days later, he would have kept suffering with untreated strep throat, which is dangerous. The doctor was a joke and had a horrible personality, like she clearly doesn’t like children. Or anyone for that matter.

If it was an option to give 0 stars I would. This place is horrible. The women at the front desk are rude and unhelpful. The wait time for sick kids is 2-3 hours and God forbid you want to take your child to eat while waiting they will take your name off the list and start over. I went there because every other chop location was closed and I had no choice. All I needed was the next set of shots for my baby and the front desk people were questioning why I was even there yet refused to ask a doctor if they could give the shots. I wonder if they treat their kids the same way. What a mess this whole healthcare industry has become it's pathetic.

I took my 1-year-old in on a Sunday morning, soon after they opened. The waiting room was already overflowing. They told me nothing more than to write my name and number on a list and go wait in the car. No estimation of wait time or other information was provided. I eventually had to leave. The next day I was sent a bill for $60. They need better communication and to show more empathy for sick children and their parents.

Wish I could give 0 stars! Racist staff!
We took our 4 year old son here for urgent care since he fell off a chair and got 2 lacerations on his ears. They are pretty deep.
Note: we took our son to the urgent care in Glen Mills and they referred us to KOP since the cuts were so deep. They also mentioned not to let him eat anything, since he might need a sedative. So I would assume there would be some urgency and concern to have a 4 year old wait for over 6 hours to see the doctor and not eat anything. I asked the front desk how long until we can see the doctor, they said they prioritize emergencies so they can’t tell. So I asked if we should go home then and explained that my son hadn’t eaten for over 5 hours. The front desk girl didn’t seem to care. And just said not to give him anything to eat because they may need to give him something. She looked behind his ears and said it’s pretty deep. But didn’t care if he had to eat or not. We are not white and all these receptionists are white and I also saw other white children go in to see the doctors. One child (God bless her) has a pump on her forehead and another who arrived after my son has his hand wrapped in some kind of yellow plastic. They didn’t seem to be in any more pain than my son. So I’m not sure why they were allowed to see the doctor before my 4 year old non white son, who had to sit for hours hungry. We took our son home to give him something to eat since we couldn’t have him sit there uncertain of a time he would be seen by a doctor. It’s absolute unprofessional and I don’t know why a children hospital has policies like this! Please take your children elsewhere for fair treatment.

It's hit or miss here. I've been here 3-4 times with various emergencies, ages 1-7. Last time I went in the 2 lady receptionists were rude and on there phones while speaking to me, they were very unprofessional. The nurses are generally pretty good but the doctor I had last time was rude and went on about how my son has a sunburn and I need to put sunscreen on my kids when they go outside. I went in for a tooth infection? Also, he didn't have a sunburn AT ALL and is just tan from playing outside every day. She didn't even look at me the whole time she saw us and acted annoyed. Not sure how these people get hired at a place with a reputation like CHOP.

Dr. J. Buckhannon MD.
King of Prussia Pediatric Urgent Care
Today, a few hours ago, took my 6yo daughter, asthmatic w/ croupy cough, congestion, & vomiting in to been seen. From experience we know she needed nebulizer meds, prednisone, & maybe antibiotics.
The doctor refused her any medication except an albuterol inhaler. We explained to the doctor and begged her to look at the notes but she refused.
She was so rude, arrogant, & uncaring, it was if she didn't like the way we looked or something.
It is now 12: 45am I have to rush my daughter to the Emergency Room bc the doctor was so unprsofessional, mean and unhelpful.

Please revise your hours as to not disillusion members of the community that you accept patients up until 8. Was literally just turned away at 755 and told to head to the emergency room. It was not an emergency issue and the financial difference between being seen at urgent care and the ER is substantial.

Just revise your hours to state you stop setting patients at 750 if you are going to tell me you won't see my child at 755 as your "closed. "

Ridiculous approach to my son yesterday. My child has had a diarrhea high fever for 5 days. They asked about symptoms a few times, and there was nowhere in visit notes that my child had severe diarrhea. They put what they picked. I talked to docs to clearly mention in the school note that he can go back to school when being well. I got the 'school note' that he is OK to go back to school tomorrow! With fever and diarrhea? CHOP claims to prevent spreading viruses? ! Shame on you!

I wanted to leave a note about our experience with Dr. Barden, specifically. Our 16 month old is normally very fearful and worked up at the doctor and screams through exams. Our visit tonight was a completely different story! Dr. Barden was so kind, gentle and patient with our daughter. It was such a positive experience and we really appreciate the effort she put into making our daughter feel comfortable. It made the long wait times worth it! While we hope to not be back to urgent care any time soon, we also hope that any future visits are with Dr. Barden.

CHOP is the best children hospital. Very efficient, address patient need, very compassionate.
