Chuan Kee Skewer reviews
17 My friends and I came to Philly for a day trip from MD! As soon as we reached the city, we came to Chuan Kee Skewer for lunch:)
The service was really good with the workers greeting us with a smile and wishing us a happy lunar new year. The food also came out really fast!
We ordered an assortment of skewers and non-skewer dishes, my favorite being the Taiwanese sausage and chicken wings! I also really loved the eggplant dish too with how soft and runny it is:) All of the food definitely hit the spot after the long travel! I’ll be sure to come back when I’m in the area!
The food is great, flavorful and is fill with a lot of food options. I've come back a few times because it is a nice little spot to eat some skewers. Fair price too, and you get full for a good price. I really like the pork belly skewers and chicken gizzard, heart, squid and takoyaki here. Honestly they all seasonsed well.
The skewers are so tasty not dry inside fills with flavor. Friendly staffs. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
I really enjoyed this place, great for meat lovers and vegetarians. This place has a modern atmosphere with the decor, nice and clean bathroom, great service and the food tasted sooo good, highly recommend the beef, bacon wrapped enoki, mushrooms, chicken, pork belly and the golden bun! 10/10 support local business
The food is delicious! Our fav is the chicken bone, seasoned and cooked and cooked to perfection! The price can’t be beat compared to chains like friendship BBQ
Overall I thought the food was very good, and the portions and high quality very fair for the price. With special call out for the roast corn being excellent! It was sweet and had a nice roasted flavor. The goza and the sauce were excellently flavored, and because they were fried not steamed a little oily for my taste.
The skewers were tasty yet, as one other reviewer noted, all seasoned the same, which is something I didn’t expect.
The entire staff is warm, and friendly and service was fast and excellent.
Summary: It’s really delicious! ! !
The chicken rack is very fragrant, and I think the braised chicken is more delicious than the ones in restaurants like Yang Xyu’s that specialize in it. You must try it.
Friends who can tolerate spicy food must order spicy skewers. They are all delicious. The only thing I am not satisfied with is the beef/mutton skewers. They are too cooked and cannot be chewed = (
When we came at noon, we only had one table. If the queue is long in the evening, you can come and have lunch!
Delicious food! However the state of the bathroom was so gross I wanted to vomit. Ruined the experience
The kebabs are delicious. It tastes like a first-class barbecue restaurant in China. The staff is very friendly. I will visit again next time.
My favorite go-to place for skewers! Best one you can find in Chinatown and it’s a BYOB!
I always order the beacon wrapped enoki mushroom. It's so good! I also like chicken meat skewer, which is tender and not too dried. You can sprinkle more seasoning like red pepper powder and cumin if you love spicy spicy like me.
This place is small and cozy owned by a small family. Even though they don’t understand and speak English well, but they’re very friendly and attentive.
Everything is good. Except the squid, which is hard and on a chewy side. You need a strong teeth for that lol. I recommended bring some beers to have with your skewers, it’s the best pairing! It’s a good mood.
This place is perfect for anyone who wants to chill with friends and have a yummy small bite snacks.
The chicken skewer was amazing! Most skewers were wearing some seasoning, which I don't know what it is, but it works!
Excellent food! I came to Chuan Kee for lunch and got an order of the braised pork with rice, which was savory and filling. A perfect dish for lunch.
I also ordered a few skewers to try, to include the squid, lamb, beef, and frog legs skewers. I loved it all, but I am biased towards the squid skewers - I got two of those haha. Delicious and impeccably seasoned! I didn’t finish everything, but took my leftovers to go for lunch the next day. It’s a wonderful place to have a meal with very attentive customer service. I will certainly be back soon!
My new favorite lunch place. The pork rice is really good. They offer a wide variety of BBQ items for a quick bite too. We specifically appreciate how nice the owner and staff are. They even offered iced water when we were waiting for the take out order.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
If you're a fan of grilled meats and seafood, you have to check this place out!
One of my favorite places to eat at in Philly. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner our first night in the city, and we thought about the delicious chicken skewers so much the rest of our trip that we had to come back. Despite it being bbq, they have a good variety of yummy vegetarian skewers. The ribs and fish tofu were also really good and the auntie who served us was very kind and friendly. Of course I’d come back!
I literally went here today and i can’t stop thinking about how DELICIOUS it was! The staff was so nice and the service was very quick! The flavors were soooo good and the selection was pretty good as well! My favorite skewers were the chicken, chicken wings, and anything bacon wrapped.i loved the bacon wrapped enoki! The takoyaki is also very delicious! I definitely recommend eating in since the food is better hot.i am already planning my visit back! Definitely come here!
I been here twice and the food was excellent and seasoned well. This place reminds of the cumin lamb skewers found in China. Unfortunately, the lamb here is too lean and tough compared to the beef. My favorites are the wings, chives, and beef.
