City Food Tours -- Philadelphia reviews
17Great tour. Thanks Steve. Good information on the city and food. A must do in Philadelphia
I recently had the pleasure of joining the Reading Terminal Market Sweet & Savory Hidden Gems food tour with some work colleagues and it was an absolute delight! Despite being a local and having frequented the market countless times, this tour provided a whole new layer of appreciation through the history we were taught and vendors we met. Matt, our guide, blew me away with his wealth of knowledge and anecdotes, emphasizing the strong community bond within the market. Plus, I was stuffed when I left after sampling incredible bites from numerous vendors I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. This experience isn’t just tailored for tourists-I highly recommend it to fellow locals!
Had lots of fun on this Philly food tour! It was the perfect length, not too short not too long and it kept moving at a good pace with interesting facts and history in between. Steve was a great tour guide! Thank you!
We went during Thanksgiving weekend so the terminal was PACKED! That wasn't so much a problem just something to consider when booking. The tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The main issue was that we only got to sample two items (a pretzel and whoopie pie). For the price we paid, it was not worth it. We learned about the vendors but our goal was that the tour would help us taste what Reading Terminal has to offer food wise and be able to pick where to eat from that experience (Since it is all overwhelming, especially when packed with visitors) It was just a walking tour, no food. Just 1-2 snacks. Not as advertised. The instructions for where to meet could be better. Maybe a email or text sent day of to confirm where to meet our guide. We thought we were in the wrong spot for a while until the guide showed up with pretzels. We also didn't have a way to contact our guide when we thought we were lost as well.
Johnny was an amazing tour guide, and the food was delicious. He was so knowledgeable about Philadelphia history and food. Highly recommend this tour!
We had a wonderful tour of Reading Terminal Market with Matt! I learned a lot about the marketing and ate some delicious food. I highly recommend it!
Matt was terrific and so knowledgeable. He had so many great stories and stuck around at the end to make recommendations. This was a great way to get to know the market in a less overwhelming way than coming in on our own for the first time.
This was such an awesome experience! Steve was super super fun and had a ton of amazing stories to share about Philadelphia.
Amazing tour! Lovely time! Steve was wonderful and so well informed!
Highly recommend!
We had a great time on the Flavors of Philly tour. Our tour guide Katelynn was a delight. It was fun to learn about the history and get to taste some of Philadelphia's iconic dishes. I highly recommend!
Matt was a great guide! We stayed afterward for the Saami Somi cheese boat, DiNic's pork sandwich and left with a Termini's cannoli and a half dozen Beiler's donuts. It was all fantastic!
Our tour guides (Steve and Kaitlin) made this field trip a great experience. The kids had a wonderful time and gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from our tour guides. I would highly recommend City food tours if you plan on visiting the area.
Had an amazing time with Steve. He showed the group around and was super informative about the city of Philly. I have lived here for 5 years and he told me things I never knew before thank you Steve.
The City Food Tour I took was absolutely incredible. This was a work event and the staff made sure we had a fun time from the minute we stepped onto the trolley. We visited and learned a bunch about a handful of restaurants that were grant recipients from my company and got to hear from the owners. Getting to see the impact that our funding and resources has made for each was so memorable and touching. As we traveled to and from each location, our tour guide Matt, regaled us with interesting information about the different neighborhoods and gave us fun facts about the city. As a Philly native, I was blown away at how much I learned that day. The entire staff was professional and upbeat. We were kept on a great schedule, felt fully aware of what would happen at each stop and definitely went home feeling full. I would highly recommend City Food Tours and I can't wait to book another in the future.
I took the food tour of Reading Terminal Market and our guide Steve was knowledgeable, friendly and made the experience one to remember. Thanks for a great tour!
Fun and tasty experience with lots of good vibes. Matt was enthusiastic and passionate about not only the Philly food he showcased but also the rich history of the city and its locals. Recommend!
Steve was very informative and gave us a great tour. The food was great. A really fun way to explore a part Philadelphia.
