City Mission Thrifty Shopper reviews
13My son and I dropped off donation boxes today and the women we met were very friendly! Easy to drop off donations. You have to drive all the way behind the building and ring the bell. Make sure you drop off donations during store hours. Highly recommend!
Prices are outrageous.and they refuse a lot of donations.the guy running it has no idea what he is doing.this store used to be a good place to look for some neat stuff at a fair price that made you feel good.now you go in there and you just feel upset because of the high prices.better off just buying new, at least you can return it if something is wrong unlike thrifty shopper. I really don't see why people still go there.thrifty shopper doesn't understand if the prices are lower they will sell more items and most likely make more money, have more customers, and be helping more people survive in this high priced society we live in.oh but its for charity right.so "help" the homeless, screw the lower income working people, and cater to the upper income people.gee I have an idea how about help bothe the homeless and the lower income working people and lower your darn prices.this place just wants to rip you off.
The prices have went up alot more, especially the clothing. It is convenient and great to go see locally. I frequently visit.
NICE LITTLE STORE TO DROP OFF DONATED ITEMS OR JUST SHOPPING. HARD TO GET SOME SIZES BUT YOU JUST HAVE TO CHECK MORE OFTEN, CAN HIT THE JACK POT SOME DAYS.
Great place to shop! Expect to pay more than average. But nice place!
No Military Discounts available.: (
I donated more than two garbage bags worth stuff here today and went in to look around. I was SHOCKED at the pricing! A piece of decor I wanted was $99! There’s absolutely no reason a little corner piece knick knack shelf should be more than $15, AT MOST.
That place is suppose to be a Thrift store with cheap prices for people-it surely is not! Prices in regular stores are cheaper than that place!
Pretty sad
This was my third visit and I still got the same response they treated me like I was a thief eye bald me and followed me it really just made me put back the things I had in my cart and leave I thought this was a guy driven company to help others first of all you get all your stuff donated quit being so stingy your prices are way outrageous some of your stuff cost more than it cost in a real store never used brand new you guys got to remember why you made the store quit slipping cuz the money is coming in money is the root of all evil God wants us to love and trust one another and be kind and loving very disappointed in the store
We donate stuff at this location alot of times. The prices on things are getting out of hand. You better look at some of your reviews and lower prices. It used to be a regular stop.
There yesterday and the prices shocked me. There were a couple things that I know are cheaper in the stores. People mostly shop there not only to find a bargain, but because they can't afford to buy in a retail store. But these prices push people away.
I moved to Girard 3 years ago and loved this place! Went there today and VERY Disappointed! Old stuff price for $9.99 now and I can go to Walmart and buy brand new! Manager claims prices are for charity BUT UNAFFORDABLE NOW! Ridiculous prices! 3 of us who were regular patrons walked out today! Not worth the time! The ones in Erie are more affordable than this one in Girard!
I used to love this store but over the last few months the prices have been jacked up to ridiculous levels. I have seen many items that are priced HIGHER than you can get them brand new in a retail store. I understand that costs are rising for overhead items like rent and utilities but it feels like you are taking advantage of inflation news when you get all of your inventory for free. Not only that but they changed the discounts so now there are only 2 color tags on sale instead of 3 like there used to be. Get your prices back in line for a thrift store selling used items and you will sell more. As of now, it is a waste of time for me to drive to Girard for stuff I can buy new at TJ Maxx or Walmart for less.
