Club Wyndham Shawnee Village, East Stroudsburg PA

Very outdated and bathrooms have mold plus the jacuzzi is unusable. Brown redish stuff comes out the jets. I have pictures but review does not have option to post.

We stayed in two different units at the Shawnee Village in July 2020. The first one had trash on the floor and ants. Little did we know this would be the better of the units. Unfortunately we did not discover until the night of the last day that the second unit had bud bugs. Unfortunately we brought them home and it cost us $3000 to get rid of them. When we contacted Shawnee Village, what did they do? They denied any responsibility and said there was no bed bugs in the unit. P. S. That means they are still there for you.

I sent an email 12/22, why am I not surprised I haven't heard anything back yet.

Please do not book here I posted a review a week ago still no refund the owner Chris Matlock is not a honest professional individual, he scammed us out of our money and is hiding behind the company vrbo.
My family and I just wanted to enjoy a weekend getaway and was treated dishonest and without care.
If you needed a covid-19 test It should be in writing on your booking page, not told to us aftet you accepted our money, upon asking for a refund you denied us saying it was our responsibility as guests to find out what your state guidelines were, we are not INTERNATIONAL travelers we are 2 hrs away.
I even spoke to you prior to booking you didn't make mention of this.
DO NOT BOOK HERE YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY.

This property is so shady! We don't even checked-in and we cancelled the reservation and this Manager Trayvon is avoiding us! We cannot get in touch with any person with any person here!

Decreasing my rating because this resort has not been maintained over time. We've been booked into rooms where the heat was broken not once, but twice. The facilities like the jacuzzi and shower, which I praised previously as being a nice touch for a ski resort, don't always work well. If you get lucky this is still a nice place, but their rooms are getting worse and they don't seem to be fixing them, so getting lucky is harder and harder as the years go by.

I've been to this place twice and really enjoy it. The last time we had some really loud neighbors and the front office was quick about switching our rooms. Great staff and a beautiful area.

Worst place ever! Sooo old fashioned, and to make matter worst we got robbed. Someone came into the villa (most likely the security) because they didnt force the door in. They took all our credit cards, cash and LV bags that we had, there is no cameras and the mgr was not helpful at all. We walked out the place with no response from them. Ready to sue if they dont take responsibility and pay us back for everything that is missing.

This is a beautiful Wyndham property, great rooms and excellent staff. The only drawback was this blasted Cocid 19 scare.

I was pleasantly surprised how spacious and welcoming with all the amenities. The activity center was packed from a huge indoor basketball court to cornhole games. The staff is amazing. Helpful

This is a scam, they took our payment then an hour later we were sent text messages that, there will be no pool access, the only reason I booked there was because of the amenities why was this not on your booking pay, we were always told with another text we need to show proof of a 72hrs negative covid-19 test upon arrival, our reservations was accepted on a one day notice, AGAIN THIS WAS NOT STATED ON THE BOOKING PAGE.no customer service, on hold for hours to get assistance and the property owner chris Matlock is not helpful, he refuses to speak to us and we lost our money.

We where in RT-4. It was a bit dated, some questionable cleanliness issues. Nice screened in Porch, very quiet location. Had to pay $6 bucks per person for Putt Putt Golf when it should be an included.

Blew a circuit Saturday at 5pm.maint showed up at noon the next day. Senior citizens had to use bathroom in the dark and cross 2nd floor landing from the to bath. Concern of staff non existent.

I just love it here. The accommodations are excellent. We stay in the 2 bedroom. The size is great, the kitchen and eating area nice sizes. Even with the Civic, they had plenty of activities. This was our 2nd time and I know we will be back again.

I booked a unit through Airbnb. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Upon arrival, we walked in the unit (R166) and noticed the floors weren't clean. There was a q-tip on the bathroom floor, a piece of trash on the kitchen floor, crumbs on the dining room table and chairs and really dirty underneath the table. I called housekeeping to come back while we were at dinner to clean the floors so they vacummed while we were gone. Coming in knowing it was not thoroughly cleaned made me wonder if surfaces were really disinfected which is important during a pandemic especially. As we were sitting in the living room later that first night we started getting whiffs of what slightly smelled like wet dog or musty. Before that, we were playing a game with our 3-year old and he dropped a game piece under the couch. My husband lifted up the flap and there was a random pill on the floor!

I got a hold of the Airbnb host later that night to let her know we were not happy. She offered to move us to another unit but at that point we already had stuff unpacked and frankly I'm not confident the other units would be much better since it's the same housekeeping taking care of the resort. She said she'd ask housekeeping to do a more thorough cleaning the next day. Housekeeping never showed up the remainder of our 3-night stay! They told the host they were there at 6pm the next day and we were there at that time and they never showed up. They also told her they'd call me directly the next day and they didn't.

I think updating of the furniture, etc would fall to the owner though? The master bed mattress was terrible and we just sunk to the middle. The couches really need to be replaced too; really uncomfortable and sinking in, plus a rip on one of them that looks like someone did a bad sewing job on.

I appreciated our Airbnb host refunding one of our night's stay to make up for this. But Wyndham Shawnee is terrible though and I would not refer anyone to stay there.

Place was clean and very nice! People were helpful and friendly. Loved the 2BR we had with screened porch. Great way to sit out an enjoy the nature. Some activities closed like hot tub but indoor pool and mini golf open. Lots of hand sanitizers and masks required.

This is a large 1980's-ish timeshare community, but I have to say it was just what we needed for a weekend get-away to the Pocono's.

Unfortunately, it was during COVID, so many of the property's perks were closed or restricted, such as the hot tub, etc. I think the pool was open, but we didn't use it.

The property is large and spread out but in a great location - peaceful despite the number of units and people, we rarely saw any else. They had an outside deck where we could BBQ and make smores.

The units were a little dated, but otherwise in great repair. Everything worked, and it was VERY CLEAN. Ours was in Dupuy Village, when you walked in you had the stairs straight in front of you to go up to the 2 bedrooms and two baths. One had a King with a jacuzzi bath (a pleasant surprise!) the other, two queens. The kitchen had full size appliances, a LARGE dining table and granite countertops. The Living room was comfortable, but a small TV, dormitory type couches and a faux-fireplace (electric) that produced some heat and ambiance.

They did try to persuade us to visit their time-share selling pitch which I declined immediately everytime.so the check-in could've been better, I didn't need that, it was just a time-suck.

All in all, I'd stay here again.
