I wish I could give them “no star”
I took my dog to this office in September since she was limping and she was diagnosed with joint problem. They gave her medication which didn’t help. Took her again in October. According to them, they took X-ray and blood test and I was told they don’t see a torn ACL but they also said a torn ACL doesn’t always shows in an x- ray! In November when she got worse, I took her to a specialty hospital and was told she had disc herniations that caused her limping not joint issue. Colonial hospital never sent x- ray images to the new hospital and when I asked for it later, I was told the image is their property and not mine! Therefore they won’t release it to me. How do I know they even took the x-ray?
I am going to get legal advice on this. BEWARE!

Dr Rufus and Bob are the absolute best. As a new pet owner, the practice has been wonderful answering questions and easy to schedule appointments. They are so good with my pup and she loves going. Wonderful and knowledgeable vet!

This veterinary office offers excellent service. Each appointment I went to was on time. The examinations and treatments of my pets are thorough and done with Dr. Dan Rufus' expertise. When you call Bob on the front desk, you'll hear a friendly voice. Bob has always found a way to address my concerns and schedule my visits in a timey way. I have used this veterinary service for many, many years.

My dog has seizures, when I got Bonnie she was already having seizures they were not as bad when we first got her. The Vet said we should take her to a specialist. We went to another Vet for the seizure issue, but kept buying the Nexguard from Colonial because they clipped her nails and cleaned her ears and they were selling us the product knowing the product was not good for Bonnie. I bought five packages of Nexguard, one every six months, over a period of three years, each package had five month supply. A friend said that he didn’t think the product was good for Bonnie. I took the literature out of the box and with a magnifying glass I read the fine print. It said it can cause seizures. I believe because of this my dog is worse and needs expensive drugs every month. It cost’s me $73.00 every month for PHENobartal & levETIRAcetam she gets two each pills in the am & two each pills in the pm. It keeps her under control. You can do the math.
I am not saying that you should not use Colonial Animal Hospital. I am just stating facts of how my dog was treated knowing it would not help her.

Dr. Rufus and Bob are an incredible team. It's such a relief to know I can get our furbabies there quickly when I call so they can get the help they need.

I trust Colonial Animal Hospital with my pets and appreciate their prompt and professional care.

Dr. Rufus and tech Bob know exactly how to care for my kitties. We have been attending colonial animal hospitals for over a year now since we adopted our brother and sister kittens. They receive incredible care by Bob and Dr. Rufus. Prices are reasonable and care is outstanding. Our cats are in tip top shape and all questions we have are always answered. Dr. Rufus has years of experience behind his excellent care and Bob is very knowledgeable and keeps us on top of caring for our kittens. I’ve been taking my 2 dachshunds to Dr. Rufus for 12 years. He and Bob have always been very caring, knowledgeable and always made me feeling very comfortable leaving them in their care. If they have needed more specialized care he has been quick to recommend it and always follows up with their treatment. I love the fact it is a smaller practice so Dr. Rufus and Bob know their patients and treat them like their own, not an assembly line type practice. The charges are also reasonable especially compared to some of the larger practices. So glad they were recommended to me when my dogs were born.

Dr. Rufus and Bob are the best veterinary team I have ever encountered. Dr. Rufus has years of experience and is an excellent diagnostician. He has helped our many dogs through the years with well care and the many crazy medical issues our bulldogs have encountered.
