I am trying to help a family member gain life policy statements. 5 companies got the material for me in 10 minutes. 96 hours later I am still fighting Colonial Penn via their incompetent overseas service department for two statements. They are simply horrid. If you are looking to purchase policies from them, know this. When you need service from them for very simple tasks, they will tell you that the response will be 24-48 hours. Then you may or may not receive the service. Other companies like Mutual of Omaha handled our cases immediately for the same material. Colonial Penn Life is horrible.

Why doesn't colonial penn inform perspective customers that they have persons in South America who will answer their inquires even if they live in Philadelphia Pa where they claim they are headquartered. Do not trust this company by any means.

Colonial Penn advertisement indicates that you cannot be turned down for any reason. I applied for insurance for myself and my wife and was rejected. Totally false advertisement.

This company is nothing but scam artist. They say nobody is turned down, well I got turned down 3 times. The government should come down on these fake scammers. Don’t do business with them lies lies and more lies.

If you are a life insurance policyholder with this company, you may want to rethink things! This is by far the WORST company to have to deal with, especially the claims department. I’ve placed SEVERAL calls and each representative that I speak to gives a different story every time, which makes me question whether or not the calls are really being monitored. Let’s just say they make the grieving process worse because they have no clue as to what they are doing and are very inconsiderate. They’ve given incorrect information which makes it impossible to even check the status of a claim. I gave them 1 star because it didn’t allow me to give a zero!

Horrible Sham! They are not honest to deal with. I was curious and stupidly put my bank information on the application. A unit is not explained. $7100 in coverage is nothing

My Dad had Colonial Penn Insurance since 1996 or less yrs. When My Father passed in 2017 and he insurance was only worth $4000 and I was shock because he should’ve gotten more than that.

I have had the most horrible experience with Colonial Penn Life Insurance Company. I have made 7 calls since Oct. 5 2022 to receive an Affidavit of Heirship form mailed to me from the Back-Office Claims department. I was informed that the only option a Customer Service Representative has to send it is by fax. I work remotely and we scan documents to send via email. Each person said the Affidavit would arrive in 7-10 business days. And, each time I called back when it didn't arrive, I was told another request would be sent to their Back-Office Claims department. I was also assured that they had all the information needed. Well after over 2 months, I still haven't received it and we cannot close out the claim without it. So, I literally just spoke to a 3rd supervisor requesting that he call that department to inquire what the barrier is in us getting the form. He told me that "There is no number for Customer Service to call claims. Our only means if communication is to put in a ticket or send an email, both of which has been done. " Therefore, my only option is to purchase a fax machine that I really don't have a need for to get this one form. This a horrible way to do business. If I had the option to give 0 stars I would. Don't be fooled by the commercials. We are already dealing with the loss of a loved one. We should not have to jump through hoops to get a claim processed.

I read other reviews and it is all the same garbage. I faxed all forms to the claim form fax number. I'm told this is not correct fax, go figure. They must have received something because he told me they sent a letter in response. Then I'm told I had sent to wrong fax number and they need more information.

I have a policy for $47 which is auto pay monthly. Come to see Colonial Penn has taken an additional $137 per month for 3 months. I called & faxed my bank statement. They send a letter telling I need a more complete bank statement. I sent the statement which showed where they took the money. They have yet to acknowledge this & refund me. It might go to court. And I sure don't want insurance from them.

What a scam and a joke! If it sounds too good to be true then it is. The policy limit is $465 after we applied for my Dad. Almost laughable.

Nothing but a sham. Even if they do choose to honor your agreement, and this is a long shot (Think "Car Shield"), they are selling you "units" of coverage that cannot exceed more than 10, or so. If you're young enough and healthy enough, each of those units - bought for $9.95 a piece - may equal approximately $900 worth of coverage. So for the 'bargain' price of roughly $100 per month, you'll have a policy worth approximately $10,000 - again, if you're young and healthy. I dare you to make end-of-life arrangements for that little.

BEWARE! COMPLETELY MISLEADING! I was looking for coverage for my mom who is in her late 70s. The TV commercials say you can get coverage for $9.95 per month. They have actors who are senior citizens leading you to believe that a senior citizen can get policy at that rate - well when I called to get the details I learned that the cost is $9.95 per $600 in coverage! So for a $15,000 policy it cost $238 per month!

Colonial Penn is a sham just look at the reviews look at the BBB report. If you insist on giving your money away donate it to your local animal shelter at least
You’ll feel good about it.
