Colton Motel reviews
11Stayed mid August, 2023. It was the filthiest, smelliest and most disgusting motel I have ever been in. Room reaked of old cat pee to where the stentch choked you, there were stains on the sofa, as well as used/open, not fresh toilet paper rolls in the bathroom and dog/ cat hair all over the carpet. Never, ever again.
They leave you be, never disturbed us. Toilet sits low and wobbles front door and bathroom door stick and are hard to close and open. Very affordable, but we choose it for availability and it's right in the center of all that's Gettysburg. Walk everywhere! Basic Cable TV and A/C, no smoke smell. Had a mini fridge in room. Bring your own pillows.
Awesome place. It's in the heart of main attractions, most of which you can walk to
Have stayed there before. Never disappointed because you can leave your car there and not have to worry about finding g and paying for parking.
Rooms are a little dated but as long as they are clean who cares?
Management and her husband are awesome to work with.
Not your your typical 4 star hotel like the higher end ones. But if you want the convenience of location then this is for you.
If your expecting ambiance then find somewhere else.
For me it was perfect.

For the price, the rooms were great, but remember that is for the price. They were clean which is a plus, just a little outdated. For a group of bikers it suited our needs perfect. We already got our rooms for next year's bike week so we will be going back.
Ok too start my review off you get what you pay for. This place is located right in Gettysburg. Very close too the fields and cemetery. The price is amazing you can't beat it. I also like supporting small businesses. Yes the rooms are extremely outdated. They do not have microwaves or coffee machines in them. The walls are old & have funky paint jobs, holes in the headboards, old tvs that only get some channels. The bathroom window is pretty shoddy and I don't think it opens. The beds are hard and covered in plastic. The light outside the window at night kinda shines all around the curtain in room. Leaving the room slightly illuminated all night. We also found a empty can and a old diabetic testing strip behind our TV stand. The pool looked dirty and I personally wouldn't swim in it. Would I let my kids get in and swim if I brung them. Sure why not kids don't care. Given all that the hotel bathroom appeared clean. I checked for bed bugs and found none. I would definitely recommend staying here. Like I said previously you get what you pay for. This isn't no Ritz. We came here too site see. We didn't spend much time in our room. Also with all the money we saved in lodging we had that much more too spend on shopping and dinning out, museums & whatever else. All pros in my book. The office has a microwave you can use and free hot coffee. If you go to the office early enough in the am they have complimentary muffins and honeys buns.
This place was great in a perfect location to walk and site see, the check in was I bit different but definitely will stay again rooms were clean and nice, there is also a pool that looked very nice just never made it in Thanks to the staff for everything
Clean bathrooms and SUPER close to everything in town. Plus this place has parking directly in front of the room, so there’s no long walk to drag your suitcase to and fro.
We have been coming here 2 times a year for the last 9 years because it's The Perfect location. We noticed changes and upgrades immediately. The room was updated, very clean and even smelled good. The bathrooms now have the toilet paper hangers on the wall instead of the floor to look at. The service was excellent, he made sure we had plenty of towels and told us about things we never knew existed in Gettysburg. Great job guys, you get a raise from a normal 2 star to a 5 Star.
A great location in the center of the attractions. Very friendly service and a good price. We have been coming here for years and they have much better service and cleaner room's. We will be back.
.
Office person at check in was rude and a bit creepy. We reserved 1 queen bedroom and got a two double bed. The floor under beds was filled with trash. Rest of room was clean. TV reception bad, TV would not turn on and off. Toilet paper holder was missing/broken off, toilet seat broken. No hairdryer. Rooms are very outdated. Guy next door was very loud and kept me up half the night. Location is the only thing they have going for them and it's supposedly haunted.
Section 8 housing. Room smelled (pull up the 1970s carpet). Bugs in the room. We canceled our reservation. Walked by later and cops and ambulances were there. Sad, I've stayed there in the past and it was pleasant.
