Columbia Market House

First time visiting and we'll be back. They put on a great Christmas/Welcome Santa event.

What's there is great, but it feels a little empty. Look, in this "post-Covid world" we're living in, it's great to see places like this even still exist. We were never there before the pandemic, but now that we're past it (are we past it?) I'd love to see some new clients fill up the market. We did find lunch though and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Let me start off with saying that a lot of "old timers" who are used to the way market houses "used to be" like to complain about how they are now. I for one think some of the change is necessary to stay relevant with the times and what newer generations want. Now, with that said, this market house has a little bit of just about everything anyone could really want! There is a stand selling produce, there is a pretzel stand that is AMAZING, I like their pretzel dog, or ham and cheese pretzel log. There are a few stands that do baked goods and various other treats and desserts, and there's a handful of places to get lunch. I love the beef patties from PepperPot Jamaican! And I love the egg rolls, beef skewers, and fried rice from Momma Sons. Stop on in for a bite, take home some baked goods and produce, and enjoy a fresh pretzel.

As I'm from Columbia the market house has been up and down, but like the hole town it's getting better the food at the market house is great, there is also seating to eat while there I recommend if you support small towns it's a must stop!

The remodel market house is no longer a farmers market house it's more commercial lies with businesses that are only open a few days a week. They do have one fruit and vegetable stand still in there I believe was not open when I was in. The remodel is done nicely. And I think the businesses that are in there have good food.

So the market house director gets paid 50k a year from taxes WE pay to do a terrible job running the market house? To do what just post on the social media accounts for their horrible hours and selection. Do better honestly
