Restaurant Continental Tavern reviews
20Not overly impressive, service was good, but my shrimp on top of my Caesar salad was cold & over cooked.
Very cool place. My boyfriend was told that it was part of the underground railroad from the owner and all the bottles on display are from it. I think it is a super cute place. The food was really good. Would definitely come again.
Wings were delicious, grilled and meaty! Sandwiches were large.took half home! Great bar service!
Had a great lunch on the porch. Our waitress was useless, but I wouldn't hold that against them. All the other servers seemed to be doing a great job, it was just ours that was terrible.
Updating my prior review. I used to love this place. Now I call it “con man Tavern. ”
The pricing and fees are ridiculous. If you want to swap your garden salad for a Caesar, it’s $3.50. Laughable considering it comes with FEWER ingredients. Oh you want to use a debit card? There’s a fee now. Oh, you didn’t know there was a new fee? ‘Too bad, we only print it on the bottom of the receipt which we shove into the check book so you can’t see it. ’
Either update your menu or post signage everywhere about fees. We sat outside, no postage whatsoever. Our service? Meh. I ordered fries which weren’t even put in for our order. I’m a local. Get it together.
Prior review:
Local favorite. Ask for the cheesesteak "egg" rolls.
The outside atmosphere, food and our waitress was very refreshing. This is our new Wed.night go to.
Just had a beautiful high school graduation lunch in the upstairs room. Delicious food, outstanding service for the 15 of us in a cozy historic setting. The spring salad with strawberries was perfect. Next time I hope to dine on the outside porch- with fewer friends of course! Thank you for helping to make this day special!
This place is located in the beautiful borough of Yardley. Servers are very nice and friendly. Food quality has room to improve (although the onion rings were awesome!)
Great place to go and just relax and laugh with friends. Food is awesome, but the service keeps me going back.
The food was good. Definitely get some pretzel bites. Service was fine and get there early to avoid the dinner rush.
$13.25 for 5 potstickers from BJ’s? $14 for Margherita flatbread that was undercooked and over sauced? Sorry, just because you think you can charge those prices due to the zip code doesn’t mean I have to pay them or that the food tastes better.
Honestly, the owners should be ashamed. We’ve not been in many years and will never go again.
Tried to have drinks and appetizers and the service was ok Ish. Not crowded on a Saturday night. I can guess why.
Clean, friendly, and delicious food.
Nice deck space for outdoor dining, staff was on point with their courteous service.
I’ve been eating here for years and they have seriously upped their game. Not sure whether it’s new management or new kitchen staff, but the service is actually good which I never expect here, and the food is excellent.
I don't give many 5 stars, but once in a while I come across a place that is a step above the rest. I ordered a Ruben with fries and a beer. The Ruben had the perfect toast crunch just the right amount of meat to dressing ratio. Great Ruben taste, the fries were as Crispy as you could get without over cooking. Not your normal French fries much better. The bar tender John was super nice, talking to him he is a retired police officer of 30 years and so nice to talk to. Food came out quick and hot. I'm glad I had a nice cold beer on hand. Not often do I interact with the owners, but they were present in the bar talking to customers. It's nice to see hands on owners. Patty is one of the owners and turns out she volunteers at a local homeless shelter. How wonderful is that. Place is a old town pub and food is great, can't wait to try other items.
A great place for drinks and some bar snacks. Had a superb Manhattan to start with some Buffalo wings and chicken gumbo soup. The wings were crispy and not too spicy. The gumbo had some zip but not over the top. And the cheesesteak egg roll appetizer was really tasty. Excellent service by Trish and some helpers.
Been here many times, but not since before covid. I always felt they had best burgers ever. To me they have changed. They were a frozen thick patty. Hardly any char from a flat top. Pink all the way through but no brown crispness on the outside, which made it mushy and soft. Disappointing. The service was spot on and as always the surroundings clean and friendly.
My wife and I were disappointed in the food. The burger we shared was just average with little taste.
The atmosphere was enjoyable, though.
Cool space, nice porch outside, decent food. Only negative - prob the worst Bloody Mary I’ve ever had - not even a mix, tasted like watered down tomato juice. Stick with the beer at the bar
If you want a laid back enjoyable experience with a moody atmosphere, then you should come here. The food is amazing, which did take me a little by surprise just how amazing because the menu is a lot of your typical American bar classics. I would caution on bringing smaller children here since the sit down area is smaller, but it is family friendly which I appreciate. Definitely try the chefs specials, I got to have the best salmon burger I’ve ever tried. We will be back again soon!
In visiting from Raleigh N. C.to be with family and we had a delicious meal. Beautiful atmosphere, and i must say Yardley PA has very warm people there. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. A landmark place that I would highly recommend
