Copabanana University City reviews
17Food is always fresh and good. Service is also great. Ordered steak fajita, wings fried hard and Spanish fries. Also ordered the alcoholic pink lemonade, substitute strawberry, definitely a fav.
Ordered the chimichanga on grub hub and it was so uneventful now while the chicken was tender it was absolutely NO FLAVOR the rice didn't have any either first time ordering never again.
My office hits Copa almost monthly for the half priced Wednesday burgers. We enjoy our time spent there and my boss enjoys the discounted burgers!
I love this place. It’s close to home and the bartender Dixie was super funny and kept the night young. The food came at a reasonable time after I got my drink. I didn’t like that they closed so early at 10pm on a Saturday but I still enjoyed my time. Definitely going back for the 4th time.
Love it here. The pomegranate margaritas, the bubble bread, the fajitas.even the salad. Everything is affordable, it's a great spot for lunch with the girls/guys.
Super chrispy well done wings. They are AMAZING. The Buffalo sauce isn't the best but the copa strawberry lemonade makes up for it.
If I could give zero stars I would. They were the rudest and meanest people I’ve ever met. One person was 5 minutes late to our reservation and they wouldn’t let her into the restaurant and she had to turn around and go home due to a illogical policy that we were not told about. We had an awful experience here.
Have been eating here for several years but recent experiences have put a bad taste in my mouth. Last few takeout orders have been less than ideal. I've had to wait several minutes at the pick-up window despite showing up at the time my order was promised. Most recent takeout order was even more frustrating. I showed up and three different staff members asked me for my name before the third person actually brought my food out. Add to that the bag must have been sitting out on the counter well before I arrived because it was barely warm when I opened it up back at home (only a 5-minute walk away). And forget about trying to eat here in-person on a whim, even on a less busy weeknight; reservations are still "required. " Plenty of other places to take my business in University City.
They asked for our full name and phone number prior to seating which we gave only first name. Asked why. They said "in case we forgot our card or something " We said we were paying cash. They took us to the table and told us there was a time limit on the table (1hr 20min) only one other table inside had customers everyone was at the bar. Walked out.
The price gouge on basic cocktails drinks is ridiculous. I mean basic house liqour drinks way too high. Service is ok but them prices on drinks nah.
There should be no reason why I'm spending $100 for two doubles Of drinks on a Wednesday afternoonI @ 4: 30! I should have brought Don Julio which is top shelf and would have cost us half the price from the liquor store. But that's OK because I will make my own Spanish fries and top shelf liquor for two which will be way bigger cheaper than coming to this restaurant. I know that you'll are desperate because of the Covit to make money but please don't take advantage of the average consumer who lives check to check. Not your neighborhood spot anymore!
.
Food and atmosphere is still the same after so many years. It may have been a little heavy handed with salt in some dishes and lightly on the alcohol in some drinks. But still enjoyed the vibe. Always a must to stop by when you're in the area!
Went after work to celebrate after YEARS of patronizing the Copa with our Penn Community and was disappointed. Nicole the GM was rude and dismissive to our concerns. To make matters even worst she advised her staff not to serve us so we sat at our table for almost a hour in disbelief. This treatment came about because our third party decided to show after running late. They said that she couldn't sit at our table because she was a "walkin" - There was a free seat at the bar 6 feet away so if she wouldve sat there what would be the difference? The manager Nicole came to us and didn't even listen. She dismissed us as if we were children walked away and said "drop the check. " Didn't even look us in our face. As a matter of fact she approached us with an attitude. We were all sitting there perplexed, thinking what did we do to deserve to be treated like this? It was unbelievable! All of this over a seat? And we had reservations. Nicole shouldn't be in charge! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! She definately needs intensive customer service training and a hug! You'd think that we were disruptive and argumentive the way we were treated. It was demeaning! I will never patronize Copa again! And as long as NICOLE is the GM, Copa will lose!
We ended up going to the Landmark in University City and had such a good time. Such a shame because Copa has been our go to place for over 20 years and as many businesses are suffering because of the pandemic you'd think General Managers would be concerned about the reputation that they present to the public! Not Nicole - I guess! What a sour experience!
Enjoyed myself, our waitress Bri was amazing and very attentive The food came out fast and in a timely manner. The food and drinks were good. The margaritas were pretty limey but still good.
The restaurant was pretty hot in the inside.no air was blowing extremely hot?
You have a limited time at your table, so be minful of that.
Overall, had a very good time.
Went here for brunch. The food was excellent and the staff was very nice. Our waiter was new so she was being trained in ordering our food. I will come here again.
I had a wonderful experience at Copabanana! My server, Katie, was kind and knowledgable. The drinks were AMAZING (you really should try the margarita) and food was delicious as well. The vegetarian options were plentiful, and you could get a vegan meal with some alterations. Will be going back!
Great atmosphere! Best margaritas in the city! The servers and the hostesses made my wife and I feel warm and welcomed. I left my credit card on the table, and one server came a block and a half away, (to my parked vehicle), to make sure I got it back! My only issue, the Spanish Fries were way too greasy.
