Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Bensalem reviews
16 I have over $900 of pending charges for a two night stay I booked over a year ago and no one has called once to help me fix it. I am beyond insulted. I have spoken with two helpful associates by the names of Gabrielle and Michelle (who I believe is a manager herself and who I would have liked to have spoken with before escalating this matter to a review). Unfortunately the same person responsible for charging me multiple different times also told me her managers would be in later this evening and would call me back. This was a lie (I called and they are not scheduled until Monday).
I have worked in customer service all my life. I understand when mistakes happen. My issue is more so the fact that I was not told another billing error occurred on my card by the same person for the same charge while I was standing right in front of her when it happened. At a MINIMUM I should have been made aware of the billing issues. Again, I would have liked to speak with a manager about this issue before escalating, but it seems my hands are tied as no one has called or reached back out to me and the only helpful associate I’ve spoken with since (again, thank you Gabrielle) has told me she no longer has access to my account.
This one associate has made a mess of my billing beyond belief.
My daughters wedding was cancelled last year as a result of the pandemic. Having already made arrangements with vendors we had to scurry around to cancel and try to rebook. The people at the Marriott were the easiest and most accommodating of all of the vendors. They understood the stress involved in our situation and made it easy for us to plan new dates and reserve a block of rooms in addition to space for a rehearsal dinner and bride ready room, and the hotel shuttle to the wedding site. Throughout the year they returned calls and emails quickly to answer our questions and address our concerns. During the entire process we felt we were in good hands.
The wedding happened this past weekend and it could not have gone better. Everything happened just as was planned. The rooms are very nice, clean spacious and newly renovated. All the of employees from front desk to maintenance people to bartenders went above and beyond to address our needs.
If you are having a wedding in the area, or any function, we would highly recommend the Courtyard by Marriott in Bensalem.
Stayed here for a wedding and this was one of the better courtyard Marriotts I’ve stayed in. Bedding and linen smelled super clean and fresh and the mattress was actually half decent compared to other places I’ve been.
The rooms are clean and in compliance with Marriott standard. Consistently courteous staff, competitively priced (considering it's a heavily populated area), and my personal favorite is that it's right across street road from Parx casino. I've stayed there about 11 nights total and can honestly say I haven't had cause for complaint yet.
This place was great, very clean and the staff was friendly and polite. We didn't try the bistro but smelled really good!
Clean room and lobby space. Friendly staff (especially late at night when you are waiting for a delivery that just wont come) My partner and I enjoyed our stay.
Well I’m usually not one to write a negative review but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in the future. I did a lot of research for a nice hotel in the area for my wedding only to find out they gave us the wrong rooms and then could not accommodate us because they had another group book the rooms we did after the fact. There was also a strong smell of marijuana throughout the entire hotel, noisy/rowdy people (who the hotel refused to say anything to when mentioned), and the room had a sticky substance on the walls. Could not sleep the entire night because the people above our room were running around until almost 4am (the staff also refused to say anything to them). We were promised we could use the outdoor patio for cooking afterwards only to find out the grills did not work. Overall it was not a great experience.
Have to request housekeeping. Pool and spa are closed, but not noted on their website. Limited channel selection and no option to rent movies. Limited food selection in Bistro. Older, but relatively clean. Staff was mostly nice.
The hotel was clean. In the other Marriott's they have the five pack of the antibacterial wipes. This location however only had a alcohol type swab packet. Also, I had requested that they don't remove the towels by using the door hanger, but yet my towel was taken away and not replaced. My cousins were in room 226 and they didn't have toilet paper. They had to actually go downstairs to the front desk to get toilet paper because they were told that unfortunately they couldn't bring it up to them.
Friendly staff and good location. The room we were in was very outdated (1st floor) so I would recommend asking for a newly updated room when checking in.
There's not a lot of restaurants around that aren't chains, but there are some good options on the casino which is just down the road.
Check in was very easy and so was check out. They also have a shop open 24/7 where you can get snacks and things.
The room was clean other than being outdated and a little dingy.
Customer service in Pennsylvania Marriott was horriable. I called a month ahead to see if I could book a extra night. They wouldn't let me because I booked through Sesame Place, they gave me such a hard time and wouldn't let me. Them claim to be hotel for Sesame Place. Customer service was so rude at front desk. I will never stay there again. I even said I would book regular night and all she did the customer service woman would just keep saying no. Even when I arrived they kept saying you booked through Sesame place? As if I did something wrong or it was inconvenience for them. Why would you advertise with them if its such a problem?
The staff is amazing, very friendly and responsive. The food is terrible! The bed was extremely uncomfortable and definitely they have a lot of room for improvement in the cleaning area, I left with a rash from all the dust in the room, the bathroom was not properly cleaned and I got hives from the pillows idk what it was but I was so itchy all the time I asked them to change the sheets. It could have been the detergent or something. Idk but I am never going back.
Our microwave and refrigerator did not work along with the majority of the lights and outlets along the same wall and the outlet in the bathroom. When we alerted staff, we were told that it was likely a breaker got flipped, but they didn't know which breaker it would be in order to fix it. Also, we were told no other rooms were available that night to move us into. We had to request an iron as there wasn't one already in the room. The next day, I had to get ready for a wedding sitting on the bed since the bathroom outlet didn't work. I had very dim lighting since half the lights didn't work and a bulb was burnt out. And I could only use the small bedside mirror since the outlets across from other mirrors didn't work. We did not have time on this day to try to move into another room as we were attending a wedding. Also, our room had a large water stain on the ceiling that ran the length of the room in addition to water damage in another section of the ceiling that had the ceiling falling apart. And the interior of the room's door had traces of a liquid or oil over a large portion of it. The bottles of shampoo and conditioner were sitting open when we first arrived. Our stay lasted 2 nights and none of this was fixed nor were we compensated in any way for having half a working room and poor living conditions. The proverbial cherries on top included the restaurant not being open for breakfast when it was supposed to be and not being notified that the pool and spa would be drained of water for the duration of our stay.
Well, we had to request clean wash clothes Nasty. Upon arrival inspected the room. Those washcloths were fit, for a cleaning Rag. Stingy on the towels and washcloths ask for few more. Had to call for toilet paper roll 2 bathroom use done. I assume it's the Covid Pandemic shortages. Outside of all that the front end and staff was very nice. I would give them another chance. Thanks!
Nice rooms and decent accomodations (minus a very thin blanket). There was some sort of karaoke party going on until 3am that was very loud and we could easily hear it from our room: (
Me and my husband spent a night here after our wedding and the room was soooo clean. Of course I brought my own lysol spray and wipes but overall I enjoyed my stay here and I would come here again for a quick lil getaway
