Courtyard by Marriott Scranton Montage Mountain reviews
16Pay for parking, also no complimentary coffee in the morning must buy Starbucks. Travel up an down East coast and never have to pay for coffee!
BEWARE! This hotel scams Bonvoy customers. We booked a 1-bedroom suite for 1 night. We were called on day of check-in to be told that the bed in that room was broken. So they were changing us to a room with a balcony and view. They were taking off $10 and giving me 5000 points. I asked if it was the same type of room; she told me it was. Well, we got there around 10pm and noticed every room has a balcony and it is in fact not the same type of room. All night there was an alarm going off, so nobody got any sleep. I called front desk at 2: 30am to complain. The next morning, they told my husband it was the ice machine. But, the ice machine was on the other side of the hotel. The manager told my husband he would give us another 5000 points. It is now May 1st, and the hotel is refusing to honor their commitment on giving me the points they promised. The staff at this hotel just lie to customers to try and make them happy while staying there. Once you leave, everything changes. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Checked into room from long drive late in the evening. Took shower, ready for bed. Pulled back sheets and it looked like someone had slept there for a week and they remade bed. Called front desk, clerk offered me complimentary snacks.at almost 11 pm. Next morning, cafe closed due to no staff. Get your act together. You are supposed to be a Marriott not a motel.
My son and I were traveling and needed a room in Scranton. The rate was reasonable, the room was clean and the staff were very professional and courteous. Outside the grounds were clean and well kept. Very positive experience.
Whole place was clean and welcoming. Front desk staff was friendly. Great recommendation for dinner. Informed us of the bar hours. Outside, big, warm (gas) fire pit. Rooms were chilly, but warmed up quickly. Bathroom fan was horribly loud and tied to the light. Need was comfortable. Room was quiet (save for the fan). Nice stay. I was disappointed that I was not greated or thanked as a member, which is usually the norm for a Marriott property.
This has an excellent, centrally located location. It is a shame that the location ease does not match hotel caliber. When we initially arrived, there was a long moment that the GM was trying to tell me that someone was already in my room and that there were no rooms left like that. This was a mistake on his part, thank God (there was already steam coming out of my ears by then). When I walked into the elevator I noticed a very harsh chemical smell (cleaning products). It was very strong and irritating. Upon entering the room, the same smell was there. My eyes immediately turned bright red and stayed that way until I went and bought cleaner and wiped the entire room down. I had asked for the girl to only vacuum and she did, two days later. I have not had a problem since. The bed is also extremely uncomfortable. We were assured the hot tub would be running by Wednesday, it is now Sunday and it still does not work. We were also told they had and awesome breakfast. When we went to get breakfast the next day, we were told the cook called out and there was no food. Also, it says Starbucks coffee, but definitely does not taste like it. I was very disappointed to say the least. At least it was close to the mountains and restaurants, there is that.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The King room I stayed in was clean and looked newer and modern. The only negative was the restaurant being closed although it was due to lack of staffing which seems to be a trend everywhere.
The price for the room was good too. I would definitely stay here again.
Very disappointed that the hot tub was out of service even when I called 2 days before to confirm.
Room was clean, that's all I can say as there other services at the time of our check in
Amanda at the front desk was so nice and accommodating. I appreciate her friendliness! It was a nice after a long drive. I felt very welcomed and the service was top notch. Thank you Amanda!
The rooms were very clean and we had a wonderful mountain view. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
️ great staff. We stayed here because we went to reaper’s revenge. It was about 30 minutes away. They have an indoor pool and 24 hour fire outside for guest to hang out by.
I have stayed a number of times at this hotel but my most recent stay was the best! I usually call ahead but didn't this time, however Yulia, at the front desk, found a room for me! She went above and beyond! And because of her help, I had a marvelous stay at this Marriott! My advice to you is always call ahead!
They are suffering from staff shortages but overall this location is very dated. Magnetic entry cards that take 3-10 swipes for entry, no breakfast.only coffee available.
Quiet spot off 81 at the foot of montage mt. Very friendly and helpful service (thanks Kim). AC units are a bit noisy. Ask for a second floor room at the back. Handy to lots of good restaurants - try Harvest.
The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They meet every need and solved every concern. The lobby and rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The pool and spa were comfortably heated. The hotel is conveniently located close to shopping, movies, water park (ski resort), the Lackawanna Coal Mines and Steamtown where you can tour the museums and take a train ride.
