Part 1) There's a lot to unpack here. On one hand we had an amazing unforgettable time as a couple but we couldn't help but feel misled by Cove Haven's website.
Room: We stayed in the champagne tower for a hefty price of $546 a night. The room had an extremely unique look with a cool heart shaped pool inside. We had no issue with the pool, we found it very clean and a comfortable temperature. The massage table would have been hard to use as it was kind of in a cramped space so we just avoided it entirely. The living room was nice and furnished with a couch, tv, and fireplace. The champagne tower itself was also very cool with lights and mirrors all around it. The upstairs overlooked the living room and pool with windows all around. The bathroom and shower were clean and updated. The toilet was a bit finicky but overall didn't have huge issues with it. The bed was extremely comfy with memory foam. Only four or five overhead stars worked however. The main problem we had with the room though is that it was just a bit creepy at night. I read someone else’s review on the champagne tower room and they said it reminds them of a scary movie. I agree. During the day it was great, a really fun room with cool amenities that you simply can't find anywhere else (indoor pool, champagne bathtub, round bed with mirrors all around). At night however the layout of the room just felt off. It was an open layout and the bedroom was not closed off from the downstairs. From the bed you're just staring down at the front door (which faces the woods) and dimly lit pool room as well as a staircase where you can't see who's coming up it. I got about four hours of sleep just because I was so scared to fall back asleep. It's kinda hard to explain exactly the layout since it's so unique, it's just more of a feeling of not knowing what's lurking around the corner. We went on a weekday so the resort was pretty desolate with nobody staying near us as well as being in the woods added to the eeriness. But besides not being able to sleep, the room was cool and clean but we definitely wouldn't be staying in it again for sleeping reasons.
Food + Dining experience: The food here was extremely mediocre and could have been skipped entirely by going off property somewhere. We didn't go to spooners but we did attend a dinner service. The dinner menu wasn't very extensive and the veal and shrimp scampi which is what we both ate was pretty forgettable and *extremely overpriced. The dining experience however was really something. It was extremely awkward. They had couples very close together (like one foot away) in rows in a hugee dining room. There was absolutely no privacy and you could hear everything other couples were talking about. What also made it awkward was that many couples were not talking to each other at all and all you could hear were my boyfriend and I's conversation. In a way we almost felt judged for talking and having a good time laughing with each other. The loud band playing also made it hard to enjoy the service. The real highlight of dinner and our trip as a whole was Nicole, our server. She was hilarious, helpful, and made us feel comfortable eating there. She was the only reason we had a good time there. Another thing that was odd to me was that arguably the nicest restaurant there, Lookout Lounge which overlooks the beautiful lake was closed our entire stay. It was the biggest waste of potential as the setting of it was gorgeous. I'm not sure why they would keep Spooners (a very basic bar with cheap eats) open over this. Our thought process was, the management wanted to cut costs by keeping one of the two restaurants open.

The food was ok, staff was nice lots to do the place just needs to be cleaned up and updated

Average, the room was ok. The upstairs sitting area was the best. A fan in the room would be great. We burned the fake wood in the fireplace & had the burned paper smell in the room all night, no real wood allowed. Shower water pressure was terrible. Hotwater in the jacuzzi tub was great. The AC/Heater needed the filters cleaned, extremely filthy & kept recirculating the smokiness & humidity. Diningroom was average & dinner was not worth the price. The waiters were exceptional. Rainy weekends & there were leaks in every facility we went to. Game room was a good time, bowling, pool, etc. Spa appeared to be closed. Grounds appeared to be very clean & kept, deer were everywhere in the evening. Everything on-site is walkable. It's definitely not worth the price & I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to a friend. 2 stars because the price doesn't match the stay or advertising.

So much to do outdoors and indoors. All the staff were great. Buildings look a little run down and so does some of the rooms. Simple things like mirror edges are tarnished from time, and pool ceiling tiles bulging down. Nothing that is a deal breaker. The service and events far make up for it. Wild deer are everywhere and you can feed some of them. Really cool.

This place was a dream. In all honesty it was a complete surprise from my wife. I had no idea where I was going. When we checked in my first thought was that this was going to be fun. We spent two nights there and that was about right.
After our arrival I realized it was kind of like a cruise experience but on land instead. There is literally no reason to leave while you are hear. The provided meals are amazing. All of the activities are there to keep you busy as well. They had biking, fishing, archery, hiking, games, and much, much more that we just ran out of time.
Our room was amazing as well. They had roses spread all over the floor and our bed. We had our own fireplace. The bathtub for two was also a whirlpool.
They have a list of daily activities that change every day. They are all super fun things to do as well. There was a scavenger hunt, karaoke, bingo, trivia, and even a comedy club.
The best part is there are no kids allowed. Everyone must be over 18. I really felt comfortable there as it was quiet and relaxing.
The biggest surprise of all were all of the tame deer they have on their property. They even sell deer feed at their store. Some of the deer are very trusting and will eat out of your hand if you're patient enough.
It was truly a resort experience. It is great for honeymoons and anniversaries. We had an exceptional time there and are planning to return for one of our next anniversaries.

It is truly a top notch place to visit.

I loved the time I spent here so much I feel cheated that I didn't know about it sooner. Everything about the resort exceeded our expectations. I accidentally found out about Cove Haven by reading a review comparing it to the Inn of the Dove and am so glad I did. There is no comparison. Cove Haven is an experience. The room is absolutely gorgeous. Our room has a heart shaped hot tub, fire place and our own heated pool in it. The resort has an outdoor and indoor pool, lake with many activities. There are many outdoor lawn games like archery and corn hole. There are free activities each day including diy puzzles and bottles. There is a list of the day's activities. Where they will be and at what time. There is also bowling, mini golf, pool tables, darts and ladder ball all free to play. I strongly recommend arriving at 11 because there is so much to do. I wish we had arrived earlier. You can also stay all day after you check out to do that day's activities. The room is a little expensive but it includes all of the above mentioned plus breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a buffet and well worth the price. Dinner also includes a salad bar that also includes a charcuterie station. You can very easily have a fantastic time and only need money for the servers. There is a gift shop that sells deer feed and you can feed the deer at the resort. Most will eat right out of your hands. There is a shuttle that will pick you up anywhere in the resort and take you wherever you want. The staff at the resort were amazing. My only hiccup was that our room wasn't ready for an hour and a half but we missed an opportunity by sitting in the lobby waiting when we could have been doing one of the activities. I would suggest getting to the resort at 11 and expecting the room to be ready around 5. Make your dinner reservation for 8 so you will have plenty of time to get ready for dinner. Overall I whole hearted recommend Cove Haven for a romantic getaway. It is well worth the price and so much better than the Inn of the Dove and this is coming from someone who loves the Inn of the Dove.

Huge facility but few people there in the middle of the week in September. Expected many young couples but there were few. Maybe 60% retirement age couples.

Stayed in the Garden of Eden Apple Suite which has a round bed, heart-shaped Jacuzzi, and small swimming pool in the room! (Well, In a glass room next to the bedroom) Mirrors everywhere.

Very pleased.

Rooms, food, staff, activities were excellent. Best suites are the Champayne Towers and Garden of Eden Apple - they have their own private pool, jacuzzi, fireplace, and you feel pampered.

This is a very beautiful and romantic resort. It is very pricy, but it honestly is worth it if you want a beautiful getaway with your significant other. We saw tons of deer at night which was super awesome. They weren't scared and sometimes would actually walk up to you and sniff your hand. The champagne glass hot tub was an awesome new experience. I do recommend bringing your own bubble bath because the one that they sell doesn't work very well. Couldn't get any better having a private heart shaped pool. There is no shortage of activities from paddle boarding, kayaking, duck pin bowling, billiards, and live comedy. Highly recommend coming here for a romantic getaway.

Rooms could be fixed up more tiles around pool area in rooms are pulling up, speaker system in ceiling no longer works some have outside roofs that are in need of repair, Koi pond got no fish green an nasty, an lots of large bee's nest at many of the store entrance tiny game room no staff around most games are broke spooner's has a bar tender slash waiter but it's to much for 1 person they need at least 2 at all time long waits I watched people be ignored just so the nightly entertainment could be served which is not very good, it's supposed to be a romantic resort get away but it's not very romantic, we spend a large amount of money to be there an treated like we are not important as long as they get there money. Locks of love has been out of service for who knows how long an no photographer there like it says, I wanted a couples message but apparently you gotta schedule that ahead of time? I'm on romantic vacation why would I want to put my away time on a schedule, we will come back for a week this time but only to see if it has changed so I can give another review

Our experience was very nice. This was our first time and my only issue was when I checked in I was not advised if I didn't make a reservation for dinner I would have to order from spooners and pay out of pocket. The dinner and breakfast was included only at the Huntress Dining Room. I went to the front desk at about 7pm and Monica was such a pleasure and assisted us. She spoke to the chef and we were given a voucher for dinner the 1st night. The rest of our stay was amazing the breakfast and dinners was delicious. We stayed at Garden of Eden Apple and the room was just as it was advertised. Clean and cozy. The pool and heart shaped whirlpool was a complete joy for us. We spent our anniversary on a very romantic note!

Around 9: 30 am on Sunday, me and my boyfriend were in our room at Cove Haven watching a movie by the fire. Out of no where, we heard two loud bangs on the door. We jumped up and looked at each other. Before we knew it, the door was opening. If we didn’t use the top lock, then the person could have came in. We yelled and they ran away before we could see them. We immediately thought someone was trying to steal from us. I called the front desk to let them know and the lady said it was probably a mistake. After she hung up, me and my boyfriend kept contemplating what we should do. We didn’t have to check out until 1 pm since we were special members. We didn’t feel safe though so I called the front desk again and told her we were going to check out. Only then did she call maintenance and check to see if it was one of them. When she confirmed it was, we reluctantly decided to stay. Literally two hours later, it happened again. Two loud bangs on the door and then they immediately opened it. Once again, they ran away before we could see who and without apologizing. I called the front desk and told them it happened again and that we were definitely checking out this time and all she had to say was okay. I called to speak with the supervisor today and he refused to give us anything. However, he did feel the need to mention that he hopes I don’t give a bad review. He was completely insensitive to the situation. I still cannot believe this happened. It was very scary and we will not being going back.

We visited Cove Haven Resort to re-live our honeymoon experience on Sunday August 20,2023. We took our photo album from June 3,1978, we were greeted by an amazing human being named Brian. He was static to see our 1978 album and took it from us and showed it to his fellow workers. He allowed for us to replicate the photos we took 47 years ago. At the end of our visit we departed with a fine basket of goodies. We were delighted with the experience of visiting our honeymoon get away and meeting Brian. He is a star employee and merits public recognition.

Had a great weekend there. The employees were friendly. There's always something to do. When you walk around you can spot deer that will walk up to you if you have food.
