1Everytime my grandmother calls with a concern the answer is always "go to the EMERGENCY ROOM". She called stating she has some abdominal pain, not severe, no fever, no loss of consciousness, not dehydrated - NOT WORTHY OF AN ER VISIT and this again was the answer. "We suggest going to the ER. We cant order any of the tests needed, the insurance wont pay for it if we do order them and we dont have any appointments. " This is part of the problem with our healthcare system LAZY DOCTORS REFUSING TO SEE THEIR PATIENTS AND PUSHING THEM OFF TO THE ER FOR NOT ER WORTHY REASONS. THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE A SEVERAL HOUR WAIT TO BE SEEN AT THE ER! Why should she go wait HOURS TO SEE AN ER DOC, waste time and precious resources when her family doctor can see her, assess and order some tests!
