I have been searching for a place to get my hair done since I have semi recently moved and had an unfortunate experience at another salon. I decided on here because it was local but I ended up having an absolutely wonderful experience. Charlene was my stylist and listened to everything I was looking for and also adding in her expertise. I went in for just a haircut but left with some new touches of color and some self confidence that I haven’t felt in a very long time!

Robin did a fantastic job! She did exactly what I was hoping for and was quick. I’ll definitely be sticking with this salon in the future.

Dawn and her staff has always taken their time in a very considerate fashion to make sure that I feel my best while their and when I leave her salon.she is also available to her clients anytime and these are the quality’s that count.

I have been going to Dawn’s for years. Everyone who works there is very nice and professional. The salon is impeccably clean and follow all Covid protocols. My haircuts are always well done and exactly what I ask for.

I had a great experience at Dawn's Hair Design! I've been dying my hair blue for years but decided it was time to have it done professionally. I came in for a color consult to find the right color then had the service the following week. Everything turned out perfectly. I couldn't be happier!

I'll start off by mentioning when I called the salon I spoke to someone who set up my appointment on the phone, it was not dawn or the hair stylist who cut my hair. But I do remember her being condescending and rude when I inquired if they had a stylist who had experience with ethnic/thick hair. This was my concern as my experience the past two years in Pittsburgh has been horrendous to find someone who knows how to cut thick hair decently. No I don't have kinky hair, just thicker wavy/curly hair. Anyways, she thought my question was ridiculous. Possibly because the demographic they are used to seeing in the south hills are white people with finer hair. Nothing wrong with that, but just be honest on who your clients consist of. I did receive my first cut there today. Lori was the stylist, very nice lady but I will say she is not experienced with managing or cutting thick hair by how she handled my hair today. I felt she struggled with washing my hair and brushing it properly and noticed she was struggling with clipping my hair up to separate sections. My hair was still dripping wet when she was cutting it. I was a bit disappointed to say the least. Haircut isn't bad, but it's not completely even either, which I noticed when I got home and my hair dried a bit. Overall I think she did a decent job and tried her best. Dawn and Lori were nice. I will say this salon is out dated with their tools and chairs, and extremely dirty. I was shocked and disturbed by the brushes that were used on me, noticed hair in the brush prior to her brushing my hair (kept thinking ill give this place a shot) but continued to notice how dirty the salon was, didn't even see where they disinfect the scissors and brushes, not sure they even do that between clients. People were nice but I would not go back due to the lack of cleanliness and lack of experience among the stylist who cut my hair. Kind of shocked this place has a 4.9 rating but I wish them the best in their business.

Dawn did such an amazing job with my highlights! This was my first time at the salon. I am new to the area and she was so welcoming and kind! She is very knowledgeable and they have lots of great products! I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be back!

Dawn is an incredible stylist and so easy to get along with. She is incredibly knowledgeable and taught me a lot about my hair and how to best care for it. I was clueless of what to do with my hair and she just worked her magic and it came out fantastic. I really appreciate that she takes the initiative to tell me what would look good, because I have no clue when it comes to hair!
She really came through for me after I botched trying to dye my own hair blonde. She provided me a consult the day I called her and we scheduled an appointment for the following week. Dawn was so kind and patient with me. Not only is she precise but she’s also fast! I couldn’t get over how quickly I was in and out and yet my hair looked the best it ever has. Her prices are very fair. She’s a ton of fun to talk to and will certainly make you laugh. I look forward to scheduling with her again!

This was my first time getting my hair done at Dawn’s and I will definitely be a returning customer! Right away she wanted to know what I would like done and I loved the fact that she really cared! I felt right at home the whole time. Extremely friendly and professional staff. Dawn did an AMAZING job on my hair. She listened to what I wanted and also gave advice on what would look best to look good on my skin tone ect. I will be bringing my daughter here and telling all my friends. I have paid way more for the services provided at other salons and they were just blah. The pricing is very reasonable! Overall wonderful experience!

Everyone at Dawn's Hair design goes above & beyond to do exactly what you want &how you want it! They are all amazingly nice & make you feel welcomed! I've been going here for about 2 yrs now & I will not go anywhere else! The shop is very clean & they make sure it stays that way! Love this place!

I got my hair cut and highlighted by Dawn last night! She is such a sweetheart. My hair turned out even better than I ever expected! After my hair was cut & colored, Dawn curled it and made it look even more beautiful. I feel like a new person and definitely recommend going here for your haircut, hair styling and/or highlights!

Dawn cut, colored and highlighted my hair and it was amazing. It was my first time at her salon and it was one of the nicest experiences I have had at a salon in a long time. She cut my hair exactly the way I wanted and she took the time to explain each step! She is amazing and I would recommend this salon to my friends!

Let me start out by saying i'm picky about my hair. But Dawn steered me in the right direction! I came in with an idea of what i wanted but after consulting with Dawn we went with highlights and a cut on my head of long, virgin hair! I very much appreciate her honesty and devotion to ensuring her customers happiness. I don't see myself being this happy with any other color and i owe all that to Dawn bc she listened to what i wanted and we had a conversation about the ups and downs of different options. Since my hair has never been dyed and hardly been cut she gave me some low maintenance highlights and a cut like i've never had before. She has attention to detail like nobody else. 100% recommend and i will be back!

I HIGHLY recommend Dawn’s Hair Design! I was a new customer to the salon after not having my hair done in almost a year. Dawn took her time to understand exactly what I wanted, and she beyond met my expectations. She did a wonderful job on my cut and color I couldn't be happier! I have already received so many compliments.

Today I got my hair colored by one Robin O'Black, who went above and beyond in helping me achieve the look I wanted. Not only were the staff friendly, the service itself was faster than I expected - I was back home with my dark-brown hair dyed a lovely silver color in less than two hours. I wholeheartedly recommend this place, and know I will be returning, myself.
