Great place. Comfortable, period decor rooms. Restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced. Entertainment by jazz singer Emily Braden was fabulous. Venue calls out for repeat visits.

This place is so awesome Okay so the atmosphere was old school cool in a very good way; the staff including our server June was very sweet, kind, knowledgeable and friendly. The musicians were very cool the music sounded great and the improvisation and comraderie between them was awesome. The look and feels of this place was on point.and Oh the food was very delish too!?

I've been wanting to visit the Deer Head Inn for the last 30 years.so many reasons, in short, this venue has been the scene of so many great jazz moments outside NYC. Phil Woods made Delaware Water Gap this home and frequented the Deer Head. What I wasn't prepared for was the hospitality of the owners (Bob Mancuso, in particular) and the staff. My wife and I had a fantastic weekend. We stayed in suite 301. My only complaint.the stairs! I'm 65 and a candidate for knee replacement! My wife and I were astounded by the quality of the dinners. 5 stars! My wife was born and bred in Rio de Janeiro and wrote columns for food magazines in Brazil. She is extremely particular when it comes to food. I cannot recommend The Deer Head Inn more highly! Thank you in particular, Bob, for your hospitality!

Atmosphere is very intimate, the music was great when we went. Food was FANTASTIC! Glad there was vegan options! We did however take our 9 year old and it was too loud for him. But that’s not the venues fault, he’s just too young. They were kind enough to give us earbuds for him. Thought he’d be able to handle it, since he loves seeing instruments being played live. But after about an hour we had to head out. All in all, fantastic place with kind service.

This is such a nice place to relax and enjoy some jazz. The food wasn't great. We ordered burgers, and they didn't have fries, wgat!? ! But the burger was good. Overall, it's nice, clean, and the music is great.

Very close quarters. Hard to walk around. No parking. Food is good.

Jazz was good but you need to like the style being played the night you go.

Make a reservation

Went for a live band night. The food was absolutely delicious! Very expensive, but delicious. Perfectly cooked, and seasoned. The staff was friendly and cordial. Is go again for the food.

This place is a gem. Went to see a friend's jazz quartet and had a great time. Intimate setting and the meal was excellent. Highly recommend.

This is the oldest jazz bar in the United States. The building has a lot of charm The staff is enthusiastic and the entertainment has been very good

Saw the Erin McClelland quartet on Friday night. Band was fantastic and the chefs special Gumbo was incredible. Cool atmosphere for sure.

A wonderful intimate music venue. The dining experience was unique due to there being a packed house.

I am so grateful that I stumbled upon the Deer Head Inn when looking for lodging in the Delaware Water Gap area for an autumn hiking weekend.

This gorgeous, historic, well-kept, well appointed inn give us a comfortable, clean, unique place to stay and so much more. We enjoyed a night in the restaurant with live jazz music and delicious food.

We were provided with a modest but completely satisfying breakfast each morning, which was unexpected and greatly appreciate. This was a great way to start the day before walking a few steps from the inn up the road and onto the Appalachian trail where we trekked a 10 mile loop (much shorter loops available!). One afternoon, we enjoyed the sweet little concrete pillar steps in the trail across the river.

The small, historic village has a few wonderfully charming shops, and around the corner are other incredible restaurants- Bosco BBQ was fantastic.

All in all, I will be highly recommending this experience to friends and family, and I am already looking forward to returning for another hiking/foodie/live music getaway myself.

Had only dinner with live jazz. Didn't stay in the inn.

Mezze plate we took as appetizer was very good, perfectly made. I loved everything they had on it, very homemade kind of quality.
Main dish pork milanese was ok, simple and lacked spices, including salt. Not sure what oil they used for frying but it had very strange taste added to fried breaded pork that was disagreeable to the pallet.
Jazz music was beautiful, quintet was professional. Very satisfying.
Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Liked the experience very much, would go back. Would not take pork milanese again though.

Place is new and well run. Staff pleasant, service good. A great place if you like boring food a d the biggest choice you want to make is whether you want three or six chicken strips.

I ordered the spinach stuffed shells and a salad.
The salad was a nice size and received in a timely manner.
However, when I received my entree, it was a bowl full of sauce. I couldn't even find my shells because I didn't receive shells. They gave me 2 manicotti that I had to fork through the sauce to find.
Very disappointing.
At least the music was good

Amazing spot! If you are into jazz, you will love this place. We went there on a Thursday, it’s their jam session night, and musicians were very talented and passionate. I can attest to the quality as I have been to many jazz clubs in NYC and Paris - if you know Smalls Jazz Club in Manhattan, it’s a similar experience. HIGHLY recommended. Food is pretty good too.

This was our second trip to the Deer Head Inn. The Paul Jost Quintet was out of this world. It was a real privilege to be present and up close for this live performance. The meal was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. The whole experience will be remembered fondly for a long time.
