I was seen on Wednesday by Amy H. I was so impressed with her professionalism and willingness to listen to my concerns and to respond to my concerns and initiate a plan for my continued care. I am looking forward to my follow up visit to evaluate how the plan for me is working.

I’ve been a patient of Megan Quinn, PA-C, MHS for nearly a year. I see her for my acne skin condition and monthly Accutane treatment program. She is friendly, caring and competent. The results I’ve experienced from her diagnosis to her prescription and now her monthly follow up appointments have been nothing short of amazing. I trust her work.

Matt was wonderful. He is very experienced and professional. He listened closely to all my concerns, and then did a thorough "all body" exam. He addressed a few cosmetic areas (skin tags) on the spot. I have been going to the Dermatolgy center for 7+ years. I always get great service. I highly recommend the dermatology center and Matt D.

As a new patient, the transfer process was extremely smooth. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. I actually made a mistake and went to the wrong office but the staff helped me correct the issue. Could not say enough positive things about this office. Highly recommended!

Doctor and staff are kind and professional. Very thorough exam with a gentle reassurance about skin condition. I will continue care with this practice.

** Patients Beware - Business does not return calls nor attempt to work with your insurance provider - Cost us $3,000 out of pocket ***

Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute costs me almost $3,000 in lab fees because they did not want to work with my very WELL-KNOW insurance provide (name begins with an "A" and end with an "A") to use the proper code for the lab work!

After 8 months and OVER 20 calls (from us, my insurance provider, the referring PCP, and the lab.none of which were returned), we were left with no choice but to pay the almost $3,000 lab fees out of pocket because this Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute would NOT take 5 mins to properly recode the 19 (yes, nineteen) blood work labs they ordered to diagnose the issue. Even after getting the results, they still were not able to diagnose the problem and referred to another specialist.

Forty-five to sixty days after the lab work was completed, we got a bill from the "in-network" lab saying that we owed them almost $3,000. We contacted our health insurance provider asking why the lab work ordered by Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute was not covered. They said the code used was not a covered service, "mis" coding happens all the time and that we should be able to call the provider and ask them to re-code the lab work so that it would be covered. We called 8 to 10 times, left messages but NEVER got any return calls from Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute.

We called our insurance provider back asking what else could be done, they called Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute 8 to 10 times, leaving messages, and Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute NEVER called our insurance provider back. Our insurance provider also tried calling the lab where the blood work was performed to see if anything could be done on their end. The lab stated that Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute would need to change the codes and resubmit and tried to call Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute multiple times with NO replies.

We contacted the referring PCP to see if they could do anything to help. The PCPs office called Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute multiple times and did NOT get any return calls.
As explained by our insurance provider/ referring PCP/ and the lab used for the bloodwork, it is very routine for providers to be asked to re-code things to better align with the insurance plan of their patients. They were all very confused why Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute refused to make the adjustments since doing so would not have decreased the amount of money paid to Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute but simply allowed the insurance provider to cover the almost $3,000 of lab work ordered (which didn't even provide any answers).

During these difficult economic times, we were left with no choice but to pay the almost $3,000 out of pocket or risk damaging our credit for an unpaid invoice!
How much time would it take to return one of the over 20 phone calls made to Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute about our issue?

Not only did they not return calls from the patient, but they also DO NOT return calls from the insurance provider, referring PCP, and the lab!

You will also notice that all of the reviews shown on their website are 4 or 5 stars but DO NOT represent the other below 4 start reviews on Google/Yelp/Facebook/Instagram

Is Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute in business to REALLY help their patients or just to turn a profit?
