Beautiful clean facility. I only had to remove one star because my dog told me to. He said there were too many signs that said he needed to be on a leash

Lovely county nature park. Wide well marked trails. Mix of woods, meadow, and field to hike. No hunting allowed so 'safe' to hike year round! Usually not very busy and can often go the entire hike without seeing anyone else. Multiple different loops and connector trails, so can make it a different hike every visit. Most trails are flat and easy, but there is a more challenging one that goes up the mountain.

Nice wide trails with enough color-coded blazes for even a novice hiker like myself to follow. Most of the terrain was fairly easy and level. There's a nice section of gardens near the education center that are labeled with all the plants.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the lack of bathrooms, picnic areas or a playground.

Great little park. Road sized trails through the woods and meadows. We had 3 large dogs with us and still managed to cross paths with 3 white tails. The only bummer for me is that I'm a forager and this isn't allowed at this park, but their park, their rules! I would definitely recommend for those just getting into hiking as well as there's some elevation change and roots to deal with on the trail, but easily navigable.

Very nice trails with clear indicators. Maps available near entrance to trails, dog friendly, kid friendly as there are many trails that are relatively flat, but there is also a harder trail on the mountain. Perfect for trail runners on the way home from harrisburg for northern dauphin county

Wide, well-maintained trails that open up to gorgeous fields and views of the surrounding mountains. Old forests, deep pine groves, and abundant stream frontage makes this a perfect day walk for all ages. An occasional deer makes the walk even more enjoyable.found There are adirondack chairs places around for couples to sit and enjoy a quiet conversation in this best kept secret of Northern Dauphin County.

Nice easy trails for the family. Upper loop a little steeper and rocky, and lower loop had some wide mud, but mostly easy hiking. I'd keep an eye above when the wind blows. Some trees look iffy.

Great place to walk with the family. Great dog friendly park. Many trails from beginner to intermediate. Love this park, the best thing is after a long walk in the spring and Summer you can stop at 3B for ice cream.

We will be regularly going to explore the grounds. The pavilion area was closed off but with no indicator to why the gate was closed. Maybe we can use that area to rest next time.

Perfect spot for a walk in the woods.
Ample space; mostly flat trails. Has a couple porta potties and chairs along the way too.

Detwiler is a wonderful park! It has very scenic trails and it is usually not crowded with people so you can really enjoy nature in peace and quiet. Plus it has orange chairs scattered around to rest in and it has a couple Port-a-Potties which is nice so you have a place to go when nature calls! It is like a hidden gem!

Muddy sections after rain, but nice variety of terrain. Saw some deer. Hunting isn’t allowed though which is great.

This hidden gem is nestled just this side of Hbg. Receptacles for trash, port a potties for little hikers, and big and such well maintained paths!
