It's not quite as good as I remember. The menu is much smaller and I attribute that to the supply chain breakdown but it does leave a bit to be desired. The food was good, the service was good, and the atmosphere is the best in town although it's so loud down there you can't hear well enough to have a conversation.

The atmosphere is just so warm and inviting. We recommend you eating in the tavern. It's like stepping back in time. Customer service is at its best and the food was excellent. We had dinner here in the Tavern downstairs.

Stopped in for a couple drinks while in the area. Cute place with lots of historical character. Note their glasses were dirty and didn't hold a beer correctly. The hot buttered rum was delicious but get it with Captain not the rail rum.

We took a ghost tour and our first stop was at the dabbin hose, and I was very impressed with the history behind this biilding,
We had dinner after the tour and everything was perfect, food.and Service was well worth the wait.

A favorite place to stop during our visits to town. Personal go to lunch is the hot beef sandwich. Seems like each year it gets better. Heard great things about the French Onion Soup.
Nice and pleasant atmosphere. Seating is tight and kinda confined so be advised.
Staff, service folks are outgoing and attentive.

The food was excellent we had the chicken and baked onion soup. Staff was inexplicably rude, including both hostesses, bartender, waitress, and gift shop clerk. Additionally, we were walk ins and asked to wait 20 minutes, 2 minutes later another party of 2 came in as a walk in and were seated immediately. After our wait, there were no less than 4 open tables when we went in. We cannot justify going back after our experience.

Arrived for dinner in the tavern at 3: 45 on a thursday. Put our name in to the hostess and was given a pager. Told us it would be 20 to 30 minutes. While we were waiting it seemed that people who arrived after us were being seated ahead of us but the pager never went off. After one hour went in to the hostess station and saw that my name on the ledger was crossed off along with many names after us. Pager never went off and hostess said she had just begun her shift and acted dumb with no apology. She said we would be the next to be seated. After a couple of minutes she seated us at the smallest table in the room (there was an open table across the aisle for four which she seated a couple after us).

We won't be going back. Food was okay but nothing to rave about and the service is subpar.

Probably the coolest restaurant I've been in. All stone walls and post and beam construction. The atmosphere is very unique. The service was great, our server Kelly was very friendly and attentive. I had a burger and potato salad both delicious. My wife had a sandwich was also good.

I looked forward to coming to the Dobbin House restaurant. I ordered the prime rib which was $37.00. When the dinner plate came over half of the prime rib was fat. There was not a lot of beef on it. That was disappointing. I've been to a number of steak houses and restaurants to know that something was not right. That kind of ruined the experience. I should have sent the plate back but l didn't want to be difficult.

We (party of 2) regularly visit the Springhouse Tavern for dinner in the holiday season. The ambience of the downstairs area, the service, and the limited but classic menu are immersive and can really serve to transport you, for a moment or two. Such moments are rare, and should be cherished.

It was my first time visiting Gettysburg and as a history buff I was hoping I could have a meal in a place steeped in history, and I was not disappointed. The wait for a seat inside the building was far too long (I’m not deducting any stars because I got there last minute) so I sat outside and the food more than made up for it. Everything was fresh, the staff were friendly, and they were all following Covid protocol. By the time I left, I was stuffed and happy. Next time I go back I’m definitely going to plan ahead and get a seat inside.

What a beautiful historical place! Food was wonderful and the atmosphere was phenomenal! What a step back in time.

We were part of a larger group (6) so gratuity was added so the server did not have to "work" for a tip. Couple of times we felt the eye rolls especially when the coffee was served cold. Other than that it was an awesome place to dine.

This historic property is a purveyor of solidly good staples and I believe that if you are in Gettysburg and love history, this should be on your list of places to visit.

Highlights:
- You can't beat the ambiance of a place from 1776.
- Pleasant service at the bar. The bartender was very busy but still delightful.
- Food was delicious but not extraordinary.

We only ordered the King's Onion Soup and the Crab Cake. (See photos.)

The Crab Cake was a good size but presented in a slightly underwhelming way without any accompanying flourish.

The soup was a little bit sad as half of it arrived on the saucer under the bowl. The flavor was good but I had another bowl of Onion Soup this week at the Garyowen Tavern and if it's the soup you are looking for I would go there.

We have always loved it we have tried several times in the last 2 years to go and there's always more than an hour wait even when we get there early. Just not worth that wait

We had a great time here. The food was great. It was cool to eat like they did back in the day. The server needs to know something about the Dobbin house. When we asked him about the house, he told us that there's a paper by the door that we can read about it! LOL

This is the best filet mignon that I have ever had in my life, and my lobster was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was also perfect she was excellent at her job and so kind. The troubadour singer only added to a perfect meal and evening. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend.

Authentic dining experiencing at the oldest building in Gettysburg. Excellent seafood - had to get the crab entree being so close to the Maryland coast.
