Dollar General, Johnstown PA

Is Dollar General only got a three-star for me just because of the size it's just such a small location with so many good he's packed inside but that doesn't discount for the fact that it's always clean the employees there are also very helpful very personable and they also have a great selection

Slow service. Getting ignored and the responses from the clerk was snippy, almost yelling at me because she ignored someone when it mattered. Customer service is unacceptable.

Well when the manager tells another employee to lock the doors HOURS BEFORE closing so she could get her work done it just kinda make me feel that she doesn't want to do her job correctly.

I gave 2 Stars because although i love shopping at DG i am not particularly fond of how the employees do things at the store, there's supposed to be a mandatory mask wearing rule by both employees and customers but i have noticed that the employees don't wearing a face mask and some customers enter the store without one on.
The other thing i hate about the store is that it takes INCREDIBLY long to get out of the store once you're ready to checkout because the line is always so dang long and the employees don't go quickly and most of the time there is only one cashier whenever there are 2 or 3 registers.

Not a huge fan of this store in general. The isles are always cluttered. However this particular location is by far the worst.the people who work here are supper ghetto.

Dirty and poorly managed. Never wearing masks and do not abide by the law to maintain 6 ft distancing. I have been in other Dollar Generals and they have markers in place. Lines back up into the products.

Who doesn't love the dollar store it's cheap they usually got everything and it makes shopping a lot more convenient than going to the big stores

Nice downtown store. Friendly and helpful cashiers. Sometimes wait to checkout is long with only one register open.

The store looks very welcoming since the remodel and stock a lot more everyday items and fair prices.

This store is always a mess. I asked the cashiers in the front if lawn and garden stuff was on clearance. They said they didn't know? I found an employee in the back of the store and asked her.she told me she had forgotten to take down the sign and no it wasn't on clearance. There were signs for shoes and accessories on clearance. So I took a long time to pick out what I wanted to get only to find out it was back to full price. You would think when the girl took the other signs down she would have removed those as well. There's usually only one register open in the store. Yesterday they had two registers open but one was cash only. There is always a long line of people. Because my total was full price which was well over what I was willing to pay, and the line was getting longer and longer. I told them just void the entire order. I also told them to start removing their signs as soon as the sale is over. You think they would have already known that.

DG has digital coupons, I use it today for the first time. I saved $11.00, not to bad, had a few good deals

Conveniently located Dollar General store that offers ample parking and a wide variety of various products that used to be my favorite place to shop. They just about Always require presentation of current, valid identification card to purchase cigarettes and the like, no matter how old you may look. As well, there is no longer a public restroom available, which was previously located near the entrance of this store.
Mostly, the staff people are helpful enough when checking out, but the frequent long wait times in line are a major cause of frustration.

Poorly staffed and run. Line of customers to door and only 1 cashier at register. Store has had to close twice in last month because of inabilty to find eployees to staff store to remain open.

This dollar store is as good as any, I suppose. Sometimes there is a line. Even so, the people are mostly nice, with some seeming a little impatient with customers at times. I am not sure why or how it seems to happen at this location more than others, but it seems there are almost always U-boats crammed full of merchandise in the aisles waiting to be put on the shelves. There'll normally be one diligent worker trying to get it done, and I must commend her, or him, because it seems a daunting task. This store in particular, even before it moved, has seemed to always have the same issue, and it seems to have brought the problem along to the new location. As a customer, it is frustrating to see this sort of thing. Not only does it block the aisles, but if you're looking for something that happens to be behind one of these carts, you must move them or have them moved, and with them very often being over-stacked with boxes, there's normally a danger of them tipping on children and/or others that are nearby. We definitely do not go to this store as much as we need to. Whenever it's possible, we go to a different Dollar General Store to avoid the confusion, danger, and frustration that is caused by these cars in the aisles.

The Dollar General in town is not taken care of. Stuff all over the floors, only 1 poor girl working, it was packed with people.
