Dollar General, Stowe PA

Christmas is over, its time to open back up. It was closed Xmas eve at 9ish.still closed and today is wednesday. Thats a pretty long holiday.

Usually I get my items delivered from door dash from this location. During open hours I put in an order and when my dasher got there for some reason the store was closed when it was suppose to be open. I contacted door dash and they sent another dasher over an hour later and It was still closed. I never received my order & door dash had to refund me but they couldn’t even figure out why the store wasn’t open when it was suppose to be. They opened the store back up a couple hours later that same day. They close randomly and open when they want to which is very unprofessional.

The general manager Channing is completely disrespectful. Me and my friends & family members live in the area and frequently stop by the store and all of us have had a horrible experience with her. She has a very nasty attitude. I get customer service can be frustrating but if you hate your job then just quit. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because there are only a few other associates that work there & they all are always very nice, especially The older woman that works there. If anybody deserves that position it should be one of them because that general manager position has gone to that woman’s head & she abuses her power.

Im a black college student that lives in the area and I frequently go to this store because it’s pretty close to my house and I have no transportation so it’s very convenient for picking up what I need. Usually when I go I just load up on supplies and carry them back to my house which is a couple blocks over but on this particular day I had hurt my hand pretty bad at work The day before and it was raining pretty heavy so I just decided to bring my book bag to carry my groceries home with me. When I came in an employee i later found out was the general manager was eying me as if I was going to steal something. I had gone up to her to ask her a question about where I could find an litter scooper, because the store was so cluttered and the shelves were poorly stocked with items thrown all over the shelves that I could barely tell what each aisle was for. She pointed me to the aisle with an attitude and then rolled her eyes as if I was annoying her. After I found what I was looking for and shopped for a couple more items I brought my basket up to the front to check out where she rang me up. As she rang up my items she said “just so you know we just started a no book bag policy so you can’t have that”. I explained to her that I only lived a couple blocks over and that I was just carrying my stuff through the rain and she proceeded to question it as if she didn’t believe me. It’s one thing to be cautious but it’s another thing to just automatically assume and pre judge somebody which is what she did. I still come in there very often and I avoid talking to her because she always has an attitude. Probably because she checked the cameras that day and realized I had done nothing wrong.

Usually this place is great and convenient but lately its just been getting worse and worse. I have been a loyal customer here for 6 years but today was the last straw, when the cashier got mad at me because I asked her not to stuff her face before she rang me up of course I get an ignorant attitude and basically cursed out when I'm just trying to buy my stuff and leave without catching covid! So disgusting.

Kelly is the best thing to happen at this location, she is always so professional and kind. What a great asset to this store.

Never had a issue whenever I visit. I go as soon as they open on my off days and I get in and out pretty quicky so it's nice. They don't have exactly everything you need, but most of the stuff I do need I find there so then I don't always need to go too walmart or something. Also hugely convenient cause it's only 5 minutes from where I live.
