Dr. Bigelow and Dr. John Lee along with their team completed an almost 14 hour brain surgery to remove a 4cm acoustic neuroma back in March. A brain tumor diagnosis had always been one of my biggest fears and once I started experiencing facial numbness and severe vertigo, I knew something wasn’t right. After meeting with my surgeons I knew I was in good hands. They were so confident and positive that everything would turn out well that I went into my surgery with less stress than I imagined possible in my situation. We had known I’d lose my hearing in my left ear and recovery was rough the first couple of days but after I came home from the hospital (3 days after surgery) I already felt better than I had beforehand. I am forever grateful to Dr. Bigelow and Dr. Lee along with the rest of their surgical team at Penn, and to the wonderful nurses and staff.

I was referred to Dr. Bigelow by my local ENT after an MRI showed a large acoustic neuroma. I can’t express how thankful I am to have been in such capable hands. I’m five days out from a 12 hour surgery and feeling better every day. Dr. Bigelow and the UPenn team took such good care of me. I highly recommend this doctor.
